Isobel had spent the last two days showing her parents around; including her school, Rose’s ranch, a few local state parks and caves. One evening was spent at Celeste’s for a family dinner. Her parents had quickly discovered why Isobel loved it there so much; the scenery and the people were both great.
Ryder drove Isobel and her parents to the airport Tuesday evening. After saying their goodbyes, Ryder drove Isobel home and they spent time in each other’s arms; their first opportunity to do so since her parents had arrived.
They watched a movie, and as usual, Isobel had fallen asleep before it was over. Ryder carefully picked her up and carried her upstairs to her bedroom. Isobel stirred slightly as he climbed the stairs, but just as quickly, nuzzled her face into Ryder’s chest and was back to sleep.
Ryder lowered her onto her bed, then stood and looked at her. She had slippers on, so Ryder gently removed them. He sat on the edge of the bed and watched her sleep, his eyes taking in every inch of her body.
She had changed into a pair of running shorts and a tank top when they got back from the airport, and Ryder stared in awe, that this beautiful woman had chosen him. He gently ran his hand along the outside of her leg, then up her arm to her shoulder. He brushed the hair back that had fallen across her face and ran his knuckles softly against her cheek.
“You are so beautiful,” Ryder whispered, “I love you.” Ryder bent down and kissed her cheek.
Isobel rolled toward him and opened her eyes; a smile grew across her face. “Hey,” she said softly.
“Hey.” Ryder continued rubbing her cheek with his thumb then ran his hand down her arm.
“I fell asleep again.”
“You sure did.” Ryder ran his hand down her leg.
Isobel rolled onto her back and reached up to touch Ryder’s face. “I love you, too,” she grinned.
“Oh, you did hear me.”
Isobel slid her fingers to the back of Ryder’s neck and pulled his head down to hers. Ryder covered her lips with his, letting his passion take the lead. He leaned over her, letting his body cover hers, moving his legs across hers. He pushed against her as his kisses grew more fervent with each second.
Isobel was matching the wanting desire as she wrapped her arms around Ryder and pulled him against her, her body and lips pleading for more.
Ryder grabbed her leg behind the knee and pulled it up as he pressed himself against her. His hand moved to the botTerry of her shirt as he began to lift it. Suddenly, he pushed himself off of Isobel and jumped off the bed.
“I’m sorry, Ryder,” Isobel said as she sat up and pulled her shirt down. “I shouldn’t have done that. I’m so sorry.”

Ryder returned to the edge of the bed and sat down. “Isobel, you do not need to apologize. I do, however. I’m very sorry.”
Isobel touched his arm and slid her hand down into his, locking their fingers together.
“These feelings are all new for me, Ryder. I need to learn how to control them.”
Ryder slid closer to her and held her hand between both of his, against his heart. “Isobel, I want you to listen carefully. And please believe me when I tell you this.”
Isobel nodded.
“I have never felt this way around anyone before. I have never wanted anyone as much as I want you. These feelings are new for me, too, Isobel. I hope you can believe me.” Ryder lifted her hand to his lips and kissed the top of it. “We are just going to have to be careful and not put ourselves in this situation again.”
Isobel nodded again. “I agree.” She held his hand in front of her, turning it over and looking at his palm, running her fingers along the creases. “Only two months.”
Ryder nodded in agreement, “Only two months.”

Isobel’s parents’ visit had been a whirlwind of exploration and bonding, traversing the scenic beauty of the town and its vibrant community. From the sprawling school grounds to the rustic charm of Rose’s ranch, they soaked in the essence of the place Isobel called home. A particular evening at Celeste’s for a family dinner sealed their admiration for Willow Creek — its picturesque landscapes mirrored the warmth of its inhabitants.
Tuesday evening arrived swiftly, marking the bittersweet departure of Isobel’s parents. After bidding farewell at the airport, Ryder drove Isobel back, cherishing the quiet intimacy of the car ride, a rare moment of togetherness amid the bustling days.
Once home, they settled into a cozy routine, sharing a movie as the evening enveloped them. Isobel, known for her tendency to drift into sleep mid-movie, nestled comfortably against Ryder, succumbing to a peaceful slumber. Ryder, captivated by her serene presence, carried her upstairs with utmost care, a silent testament to his affection.
As Isobel lay in repose, Ryder’s gaze lingered on her, his heart overflowing with adoration. Her attire, casual yet alluring, accentuated her natural beauty, a sight that never failed to mesmerize him. He traced the contours of her face with tender reverence, his whispers of love hanging in the air like a delicate melody.
“You’re exquisite,” Ryder murmured, leaning in to place a gentle kiss on her cheek, savoring the softness of her skin.
Isobel stirred, her eyes meeting his with a gentle smile. “Hey there,” she greeted, her voice a soft caress.
Their exchange was a dance of affection, each touch and word a testament to their deep connection. Ryder’s fingertips traced a path of desire along her skin, igniting a mutual longing that sparked between them like a flame seeking oxygen.
Their embrace deepened, passion igniting as they surrendered to the intoxicating pull of love. Ryder’s ardor matched hers, their bodies moving in sync, a symphony of desire and adoration.
But amidst the fervor, a moment of clarity broke through. Ryder, overwhelmed by conflicting emotions, pulled back abruptly, his eyes reflecting regret and longing.
“I’m sorry, Isobel,” he whispered, his gaze a mix of desire and restraint. “I should have controlled myself. I’m sorry.”
Isobel’s response was one of understanding, her touch a reassurance amidst the sudden tension. “It’s okay, Ryder. We both need to navigate these feelings.”
Ryder’s gaze softened as he leaned closer, their hands intertwined against his heart. “Isobel, listen to me. I’ve never felt this way before. You mean everything to me.”
Isobel nodded, her eyes locked with his, absorbing his sincerity. “I believe you, Ryder.”
Their shared resolve echoed in the quiet of the room, a silent promise to tread carefully as they navigated the depths of their love. As Isobel traced the lines of his palm, they silently acknowledged the journey ahead, brimming with anticipation and devotion.
