My consciousness becomes faint and clear as I open my eyes. A warm sunlight shines across the room with birds chirping in the distance lighting my eyelids with a bright light showing me exactly how bright it really is. The aroma of freshly trimmed flowers fill the room as I open my eyes looking at the ceiling before me. It is covered in a beautiful piece of artwork, with hand carved wood running the sides and down the walls.
“An unfamiliar ceiling. An unfamiliar wall. Where am I?”
Meke looked around the bed he was sleeping in, it was massive in size, seeming to be much too large for himself to sleep in. He is comfortable with the soft cushiony pillow like bed supporting him in a blissful experience. Grandiose desks, chairs, and tables decorate the room in a tastefully familiar way. A large decorative chandelier hangs in the center of the room, dazzling those who look upon it with the twinkling of the light shimmering through it. Lavender curtains allow light to slip through slightly before a young maid walks over to the curtains and draws them open.
Thoughts fill my mind, where am I? Is this a hospital? What kind of treatment have they given me? Am I sick? Am I wounded?
As the girl in the maid outfit turns to me after drawing the curtains she looks at me and holds my gaze for a moment locked in place, tears flood her eyes and she smiles hard. She was a beauty, young with smooth brown hair and a neat and pressed uniform. Some stains lay on the sides and by her elbows so she must be unaccustomed to this work. Her smile set my heart beating faster. I do not know this girl but this body seems to have some kind of feelings for her. My heart beats faster and my stomach flutters, this body must not have had the confidence before because this feeling I have is want and desire. She is a beauty unlike any other however in this world they do not care about such good looks when being fat and noble are what matters to most. How much expensive makeup you have, how much food you eat, how many dresses and corsets you have, how overall submissive you are, these are the world's views of beauty. But it is not mine, for before me stands a bombshell of a woman, someone who will become a strong willed important individual, a girl with a desire for freedom and looks to compare with a model. To me she is someone I would have never got the chance to interact with yet here and now is a different story, I am a different person. I will never let my chances go.
“Meke-sama”
Suddenly the girl leaps across the room and lands on the bed in a swift action. She grabs me hugging me hard, feeling her warmth and emotions, I feel like she must have feelings for this body as well.
“Meke-sama. Meke-sama. I’m so glad you're okay.”
I don’t know what that meant, but the girl was crying heavily while burying her head into my chest sobbing away. She was slightly older than myself with a cute face, even when tears flowed like rivers. Her eyes are soft and sincere, she must really care for this body. For me.
“It’s good to see you young lord. You have been asleep for a week now- we didn’t know if you would ever wake up!”
The girl only has to say a few words with sadness across her face, the young lord's comment strikes me with great understanding of the situation. Taking the lead to leave a good impression on her and to not show my lack of understanding. I grab her by the face and pull her to look at me as I speak softly.
“It is okay, I am fine. I am sorry to have worried you. Tears don’t suit your pretty face.”
The girl stopped crying heavily and began to blush as she got up and patted herself down. Her red eyes turned slightly puffy until she wiped the tears away.
“I will inform the Master of you waking up. Please wait right here, Meke-sama.”
The girl left the room and closed the door behind herself. I got up and walked over to the window and gazed at the scenery below me. Beautiful gardens stretch far and wide as many gardeners tend to the beautiful rows of reds, blues, yellows, and pink flowers line the sides of this large manor as far as I can see out the window in each direction. My head hurts, it feels like it is splitting open. I haven’t had a headache this bad since I pulled that all nighter studying for my college entrance exams. Judging from the distance I appear to be on the second floor of this manor. I conclude I somehow died and now have been reincarnated. I will make this life better, different, and easier. I never did get to do anything fun and I was never the ladies man type. I won’t eat as much nor will I go through life without working out or being better at everything I can. The door creaks open and in walks the maid girl and some other servants. They look at me for a moment, shocked to see me not in bed resting but standing by and gazing out of the window with an air of power and confidence radiating out. Behind the servants walked in a noble man and woman who was tearful yet excited to see me. Tears filled my mother's eyes for a moment before she wiped them away.
“Meke! Your awake! I’m so glad your okay!”
“You had a high fever and almost didn’t make it.”
“Seeing you alive and okay has put my heart at ease. You don’t know how worried I was about you”
The woman was very beautiful and radiated grace and elegance. A smile on her face seemed to hide all true feelings and intentions but when she looked at me her smile became genuine only to me, this is not a woman to trifle with. Her light brown hair dances and sways as she walks, young and in her twenties with looks of a model, she carries herself in a proper way. Next to her is a slightly older man with refined looks with dark black hair. He is muscular and tall but slim and agile like he has many years of battlefield experience but could also hold a conversation with nobility.
Trying to keep the beautiful woman before me from crying I tried to comfort her in the only way I could. I picked up and held her hand before clearing my throat to speak as calmly as I could.
“I am sorry to have worried you mother. I am okay now, I slept a long time and had much to think about. I could only come back because I saw many beautiful girls and couldn’t stand the fact I made you cry for my sake.”
My mothers eyes filled with even more joy before she smiled deeply and talked to the young maid.
“Shela makes sure to take good care of Meke. His long sleep has changed his mind and made him even more formal. Make sure to watch over him and if you have questions please be sure to check with your mother. Fill him in on what has happened since he took his test.”
“I may be inexperienced as a maid but I will do my best ma’am! I will make sure to keep Meke in the highest of spirits and keep him well taken care of.”
The noble man and woman left the room with the other servants leaving Shela with me for some rest and recuperation.
“What happened? My head hurts. My memory is all fuzzy.”
“We were so scared, young master. During your magical aptitude test that all children take at the age of 8, you almost died. The crystal was cracked by your older brother's use beforehand but they wanted you to undergo your test because they didn’t think you would be strong enough.”
“I take it that I was strong enough for you then. What about my magic?”
“You were very strong and very cool. So strong that the crystal exploded releasing the magic it had stored up. You threw up a wall behind you and protected us as the shards ripped through the area. We pulled as many out of you as we could. But you have been asleep for a week now. I was so scared of Meke-sama!”
“It is okay now. I am okay. I am here for you now Shela. Do not worry or fret anymore for I am here.”
Shela smiled briefly and wiped her tears. My stomach roared loud enough to cause Shela to giggle and then ask me.
“Meke-sama would you like to eat now? I have some soup and bread from lunch that is still hot.”
Looking at her excitement and fire in her eyes and wanting to make her feel useful I nodded my head. I lifted my arms and dropped them, then I lifted them and dropped them again. I looked at her and with a smile on my face I looked at Shela with soft eyes.
“Yes please. I can’t use my arms so would a pretty girl be okay with feeding me?”
Her face turned bright red and she began to blush hard, shy at first she agreed with vigor.
“Say Ahh. Here is another bite. Good now try it with some bread. How is it Meke-sama? I know it’s not what you normally eat but.”
“I may not normally eat this, but it seems to taste much better now.”
“Why would it taste better now when it’s cooled down and isn’t fresh?”
“Because I get to enjoy it thanks to you.”
Her face turned red.
“It is just simple soup. It is not a noble meal like you normally eat.”
I smile at her.
“Having you feed me is the best thing. It is delicious and wonderful just like you.”
Silence befell the room for a moment as her eyes widen and she grows even more red.
“Now your turn. Here, I can use my arms now.”
I pull the bowl from her. “Say Ahh.”
Her face was beat red for a moment.
“You don’t want me to feed you Shela?
I said it as innocently and sweetly as I could and she seemed to melt the moment I said it. She regained her composure and sat up straight and looked at me with a deep excitement in her eyes not showing on her face.
“Yes master. Please feed me.”
I brought the soup to her lips and she paused for a moment looking at the soup. The thought of an indirect kiss with me must have crossed her mind as she blushed way harder than I thought she would before she gulped and gently took the soup. I fed her a few bites watching her expressions change as her mind wandered. Seeing these reactions I had no choice but to just say it and she was the reaction I would get from a beauty like her. Looking at her for some reason I feel like I can say anything and get away with it. Her reactions are great so I try to fill her heart with praise after she fed me what looked to be her lunch.
“Good girl. You did such a good job. I can’t wait to feed you again.”
“Thank you master. I will look forward to it again later”
I patted her head and she went silent and red. She took a few moments to regain herself before looking up at me with a unique look. I continued patting her head for a small amount of time as I looked at her innocent blissful eyes.
“Shela, do you have a mirror I can use for a moment?
“Yes Meke-sama, let me go get it. Your sister was currently using it to try on different gowns.”
Shela left the room to go and get the mirror. I collected all the things and piled them up neatly stacked on the table next to the bed. A few moments later Shela entered with a large mirror that was mounted on wheels. She pushes it into the center of the room and I stand next to her looking at who I am. I am different than before. I have brown hair now instead of my jet black hair, I am smaller of course due to my age which seems to be about 5 years old or so.
Shela, curious as to why I needed a mirror and wondering what are you looking at, stands next to me in the mirror. I can’t just say I want to see what I look like because I am new to this body. Thinking of something clever to not sound weird I look at Shela in the mirror holding her gaze and smiling.
“I wanted to see how we looked next to each other.”
Shela paused for a moment confused and smiled hard.
“I know you are very cute and I wanted to see how we looked standing together.”
She blushed but held my gaze and smiled deeply.
“I’m glad I can stand behind you in the same mirror as Meke-sama.”
I want this reaction. I grabbed her by the waist and pulled her to me in a swift motion. She was startled but eased up when I held her tightly in a hug looking at her in the mirror. She squirmed and I could hear her heart begin to race.
“Wha-wha-wha-what are you doing Meke-sama?!?”
“Sorry I just wanted to hug you. Is that okay? I can stop, here let me let go.”
“Wait, don't stop. You don’t have to. I was just startled.”
She smiled hard and I smiled back. Then I held her deeply before letting the hug go then linking fingers with her for a moment. Her excited heart fluttered as she watched me with great curiosity. I then pulled her back into a deep hug and held her tightly. She was bigger than myself, so when I hugged her I buried my face deep into her chest area. I have to look up at her because she is taller than myself. I gaze at her in the mirror and nod my head.
“Yup this is good. Very interesting and curious.”
I let the hug go and looked at her beauty in the mirror. She looked at me puzzled.
“What were you doing Meke-sama?”
“Nothing really, you are very cute and a beauty I would be honored to even be next to.
Silence befell the room and I kept up the momentum without letting up.
“I just wanted to see what we would look like as lovers.”
Her face is beat red in an instant.
“Wha-wha-wha-what?!?”
I like this reaction. I try to say with such innocence.
“What's wrong Shela?”
“I could never possibly be a lover to Meke-sama.”
Before she could even continue explaining it to be a good Meke praising session I took the opportunity to get the best reaction I possibly could.
“But I thought you loved me, Shela. I thought you would do anything for me. Didn’t you tell mother you would do anything to serve me and keep me happy. “
She was defeated in a mere moment, a flurry of emotions fell across her face like an ever changing light show. She rapidly goes through expressions like happiness, excitement, flirtatious, amusement, and desire.
“I do and will do anything and everything you want Meke-sama. That is my job and duty as your maid. It is the task I have been assigned by my mother, the Head Maid. I will serve you until you wish me not to.”
I look at her with excitement and happiness in my eyes. I begin to feel my face get hot and blush hard as I smile hard at her.
“Good because I want you and I want you by my side, Shela.”
She began to stammer away turning red and heated from my declaration of desire for her before her name was called out from another room.
“I will take my leave now, Meke-sama. I will always be by your side, always Meke-sama.”
She leaves the room.
I felt tired. All this flirtation and conversation makes me feel tired. I look out the window and it is still somewhat bright, the chirping birds are now replaced with the distant sounds of cicadas. I spent the next few days resting in bed, my body readjusting to my increasing health. Even though I am fine my family still has me rest in bed. To ease my boredom I enjoy teasing and seeing Shela. I have her hug me and cuddle me in bed. I have her feed me and bring me things like water and small items. Each time she does something I always make sure to hug her and pat her head. She fought it at first but now she almost craves attention, I don’t know why.
I had her bring me a few flowers and after she retrieved them I patted her head.
“Here are the flowers you requested, Meke-sama.”
“Thank you as always Shela. You are so cute, come here and lay with me.”
She crawled in the bed and laid next to me as I cuddled her and patted her head.
“What did you want the flowers for Meke-sama?”
“I wanted to see if even a vase full of beautiful flowers could even compare.”
“Compare to what, Meke-sama?”
“To your beauty Shela.”
She blushed and pulled my head into her chest cuddling me hard. She held me like this for a little bit of time. We talked about many things and I was able to get some good information out of her and about this new world I am in.
I was reincarnated and his new name is Meke von Caslon.
I am the third son of Baron Fernando von Caslon who rules the Caslon Territory in the Casler Region.
My mother was a maid who the Baron took as his wife when his late wife passed away. Although they were both ex adventurers, the Baron was given his boon of territory after serving in the war and his mother began to serve him as a maid and friend before being his wife.
The Casler Region was ruled over by a king who seemed to not know what he was doing and left it primarily up to the corrupt nobles around him. She talked of the other nations and whenever this kingdom came up comparing it to another, it was always more lackluster and primal in comparison. Even the merchant nation that rose to the east is way better off with the use of magical technology.
The Casler Region Shares Three borders. It is South of the Dalmas Empire, West to the new up and coming merchant nation, North of the Deserts of Salam. It was a much smaller territory then the Empire and Desert kingdoms, yet was larger than the fledgling merchant nation. Our territory is located close to the border so our people and cities have a more painful life dealing with constant attacks and wars over the years. Although it is peaceful these past few years, war is constantly changing because war never changes.
My father's name was Fernando von Caslon. Only the lords of the house are supposed to carry the names of their fiefdoms. He looked to be in his mid-thirties, with golden yellow hair and a solid build. His years of swordsmanship training and combat experience has refined him to the point that even in normal clothing you can see build and definition.
Fernado had two wives, Meke’s mother was his second wife. Her dark brown black hair is in striking contrast to the blonde hair of the rest of the noble family. My mother's name was Sara von Caslon. She was a beautiful dark brown black haired woman who came right over when I woke up. She was an ex adventurer with Fernando and after her late husband passed away she began to work for Fernando as a servant and knight, after some time they got together.
My sister's name is Rain von Caslon. She is 4 years older than myself but has more of the black hair than brown in her. She was training when I regained consciousness so by time she had found out, I had already recovered and woken up so when she tried to stop her training she was informed not to. Far off in the distance she could see me in the window looking very galant and noble. She is a nice, sweet, firm and determined girl who is serious and noble with a soft heart towards the commoners. She trains hard everyday to become well educated and a powerful warrior to hold her own. She will come to teach me many of my studies and sword training with the other knights. Every day since I woke up, she came to see Meke’s face. She had black hair with a bit of brown tint in it, her face was similar to Meke’s with a nice soft skin complexion making many jealous of her no makeup face of beauty.
His first wife was Maria von Caslon. The first wife had two boys, Helio von Caslon and Alec von Caslon, and their two older brothers attended the academy in the royal capital. They have not been around except on breaks and to visit without their mother. Including the first lady, Maria, they have been living in a separate residence in the royal capital. It mostly caters to nobility but has normal commoner students attend in the grand trade city within Duke Desmond von Caslon’s territory. This allows for people of all kinds to mingle in with the students.
The academy is attended for seven years, from the age of ten to seventeen, and the age of adulthood is fifteen. The last 2 years of school are more focused towards how to be a proper noble and making connections with other students.
The Caslon territory is a three week's ride east of the royal capital and you have to pass through many other lords territories. It seems that there are several towns and villages centered around the city of Caslon, where the lord's residence is located.
Somehow, now that he understood the territory and his family, Meke thought about the future. He needs to recover and get better at magic to become a powerful warrior capable of getting all the ladies. How else would he survive if not surrounded by the most beautiful of women?
In this world, he was baptized into the church when he was eight years old, and the priest would bring the voice of God to him at that time.
The state religion is a polytheistic religion and has nine gods.
The nine gods of this world are as follows:
God of Creation, Creton
God of the Sky, Sylphius
God of the Earth, Gordond
God of Magic, Majok
God of War, Slont
God of Commerce, Menet
God of Life, Reinah
God of Death, Carnith
Eight pillars have a role to play, led by the creator god Certon.
And I learned that there is magic in this world. Something from the fantasy books he read in his past life, this new prospect excited Meke greatly. Since Meke was not the eldest son and a direct descendent of Fernando and Maria, he could not inherit this territory directly. That's because his eldest brother, Helio, will take over as the next lord as dictated by normal customs of nobility in this world.
It is said that if you make some kind of achievement, you can be knighted by the state and build an independent noble house, but in general, you will either help the head of the family, join the army and become a knight, work in a trade association or become an adventurer.
I will become an adventurer.
Someone able to do anyone or anything I wish. Power is an absolute fact of every world so I need to become strong and fast. Meke knows that he won't be able to become the head of a noble family easily, which is why he wants to become an adventurer and look around the world in many ways. He had come to think about it even more because he heard from Shela that there are numerous races in this world, not only the human race, but also elves, dwarves, and beastmen and other races. His willingness to do so didn't stop because of his knowledge of the landmarks in his previous life.
''First of all, about this world. I need to know more about the characters, history, geography and so on.''
That's what Meke thought.
“So when do you think I am done with this bed rest thing? I would love to walk around and train with you Shela.”
“The Master said you have one more day before he will allow you to wonder about the house again.”
“Good. I can’t wait.”
“It is a good time as well, Meke-sama.”
“Oh why is that? Is something happening?”
“Your father Baron Fernando has called both of your brothers to the house and they will be arriving in a few days time.”
“Is that so? Sounds like an interesting storm is brewing. Well then Shela, I am tired so I will rest for the rest of the day.”
“Okay Meke-sama, please rest up. I will come wake you tomorrow for a new start to a new day.”
Shela leaves the room, closing the door behind herself. Meke sighs deeply then remembers that he is able to access the depth of his magic and power if he goes into a church or divine place to confer with the gods there. Instead he begins to meditate and try to see the depth of his powers even if it is only a mere fraction. He lays down on his back straight as a board and begins deep breathing. He begins to channel magic and falls into a deep void of blackness.
A ball of Brown light and a Green light are on opposite sides of the void. As I lift my arms I can feel the warmth of the orbs. I can feel them radiant and pulse with energy. As I reach my hand outwards and grab the brown light I can pull and stretch it, mold it, shape it, make it larger, make it smaller. I can do the same with the green one. I take the two orbs of light and begin to mix them, swirl them together like a decorative dessert pudding. I can throw them and they splatter together in an area making fun little splatter effects. I grab both of the balls of light and flick my fingers in them shooting out threads of light creating cool overlapping brown and green designs. I take the balls of light which are a painting in this canvas of the void and wrap myself in the canvas of these two colors. I enjoy the blissful colors until I feel a hand touch me gently. I open my eyes to a nice bright morning seeing Shela.
“Good morning, beautiful. I didn’t know I was being visited by an angel first thing in the morning.”
“Meke-sama stop it, you're going to make me blush. How did you sleep Meke-sama? Hopefully well.”
“I slept but didn’t sleep if that makes sense.”
“What do you mean?”
“I was in deep meditation and discovered my magic. I have both Earth and Nature magics which are orbs of light.”
“Wait. Wait. Wait. What!”
“I took those orbs of lights and was playing with them, anyways I formed them together as one so I am able to use farming magic now.”
“What?!?”
“So let us go and visit the countryside, it is in a good season so crops can be planted quickly.”
Shela follows me in awe and silence. We travel out of the manor and head by carriage to the fields. We are greeted by all the workers as we disembark the carriage. The owner of the fields and house immediately rushes over to us to bow and greet us.
“It is good to see you in good health young lord, we prayed for your good health.”
“Rise, please lift your heads. Thank you for all of your prayers.”
“If I may ask young lord- what brings you here on this day?
“I came to view your fields and improve them in any way I can help.”
“Is that so?”
“Don’t worry I have farming magic so to test my magic I will be using your fields since I know you will need to till the fields.”
“Ah yes, thank you young lord. Any help at all that you can give is a wondrous feat. Please come right this way.”
They began leading us to the fields. Their conversations can be overheard as they whisper about how the young lord is weaker than the other noble boys and they will humor him for his little “tilling of the field”. As they reach the fields Meke wants to prove a point to these people to show him his power, he is not a weak little boy.
Standing before the fields Meke raises his hands and begins to channel and build his magic, the onlookers watch a beautiful display of brown and green magic energies swirl around Meke. He slams his magic deep into the ground sending a shockwave of magical energy surging into all the fields in the surrounding energy. The ground shook and ripped apart and rolled back and forth pulling all the seeds in the area into the earth and planting them the correct distance apart while enhancing the fields making them glow slightly with magical energy. Shock and awe filled the area with the huge amount of widespread magic power surging all around. Silence befell the group as Meke finished his cast then stood up tired and drained but holding firm to prove his power and strength. Shela grew excited and impressed with her young master.
“Meke-sama! That was great!”
“Thank you young lord, we are sorry for having any doubt.”
“Do not worry or fret. I will stop by to keep enhancing the fields and making sure the crops are higher yield and better overall.”
“Let us head back to finish your studies, Meke-sama.”
Meke nods and they take their leave with the workers thanking them profusely. They arrive back at the mansion and Meke begins his sword training and studies under his sister. She teaches him with vigor due to his want, desire, and need of knowledge and power. She is a rough trainer making him go through a hell unlike any other for the next few days. During their rest after a long day's training Meke and Shela wander the various mountains looking at them and what resources they hold. Meke, using his magic to pulse the earth, finds many great goodies that he takes note of for a later time. Copper, iron, and coal are plentiful in the mountain range with some other minerals and ores deeper in. He finds a crystal like ore and using his magic makes a hole to the deposit so he and Shela can look at them.
“Shela, what is this?”
“This is a magical crystal.”
“What is a magical crystal?”
“It is formed in magically enriched earth. It is used to hold a spell or charge inside to be casted at a later time.”
“What can it do exactly?”
“For instance if you were to put a create water spell inside of it then it could create water at any point in any volume at any pressure using a different amount of magic power.”
Meke has an idea to test with this new crystal. Maybe he can use this at a later time. Meke uses his powers to break the crystal into a hundred of shards all the same size and shapes and using the other pieces he turned them into a fine powder and collected the powder and a single crystal into his bag with the rest he kept in a stone chest he created and sealed the cave for a later date. Him and Shela return and he tells her not to tell anyone of this yet.
A few days later his brothers arrive in the city.
They wander the streets of the city, tossing around their weight taking things from the people like they always do. They take freshly baked goods, merchandise, wares, and anything which will impress the girl they are trying to woo. They wander causing havoc like usual, the oldest brother being a little more tame to him inheriting the household in the future, the youngest being an absolute menace to the people.
They arrive at the manor by carriage and are greeted by the soldiers and servants and Meke and Rain having finished their training watch as they immediately throw their weight around causing problems for the servants. They meet with their father and ignore Meke’s mother sending her away. Rain goes to comfort her mother while Meke heads to the kitchen to get Shela and go on a walk. He hears a scream and yelling.
“Let me go. I do not want to go.”
“Come with me, you are of age. Let me break you in.”
“No I don’t want to!”
Meke, seeing Alec grabbing Shela’s arm with an evil smile dragging her from the kitchen while the other servants look away saddened by the truth of what will happen, became enraged unlike any other. Fury took his eyes as he is always nice and respected with all the servants and to see one in such a state.
“Brother I will say this one time and one time alone. Let the servants go.”
“I will do no such thing little boy.”
“Leave this place and walk away before I get really mad.”
“What are you going to do? Cry? Shout? Who will come to your aid? No servants will stand against me.”
Meke grabs Alec by the hand and using magic power to enhance his grip he immediately crushes his wrist causing him to scream and let her go. Meke grabbed him by the face and slammed him into the wall cracking it in a fury of rage. The manor shakes violently due to the altercation. All his kindness towards these people and this guy comes in here like this. Meke drags him through the wall into the courtyard. Moments before Rain is comforting her mother.
“Mother. Are you okay?”
“Do not worry Rain. I am fine. They have returned and like always they cause problems.”
“Why does father allow such a thing?”
“He is powerless to their mother. Her standing in the capital is high and her connections can be traced to the royal line.”
“Why do they act so cruel towards our servants and our people? Isn’t the purpose of a lord to be a person many strive to be? I have learned from many books of heroes of old who became great kings.”
“My child there is much to learn. People are corrupt and evil. If it can be taken it is always taken by the nobles. You and your brother are definitely my children. So nice and kind to all the servants and people of these lands.”
“Well of course we are, our mother has always taught us things like respect and love for our people.”
“I know you and Meke are beloved by our people. They send me all kinds of letters from your strength in the hunts and Meke working the fields with Shela. Me and your father do see all, it is just unfortunate we can’t stop your older brothers.”
“It is okay mother. Meke and I are very strong.”
“I know you are strong Rain. You train every day in the sword and magic, and that you are a twin hybrid of fire and ice unlike your older brothers each having one element. I do get that everyone is powerful in their own way, but Meke isn’t very powerful with his earth magic.
“But mother you are very wrong. And that will surprise you and father sooner than later.”
“What do you mean Rain?”
“Meke is far stronger than myself.”
“What?”
“In both Sword and Magic. His training with me has only been a few days yet he is already at my level.”
“Wait, what. Really?”
“He is also able to shadow cast magic like myself. As well as having twin magics.”
“He has twin magics!”
“He has Earth and Nature magic. It is beautiful mother, truly beautiful. It is a power unlike any other I have ever seen or read about in the magic books. It radiates in beautiful colors of greens and browns.”
“Wait if you can see the magic.”
“Exactly mother, Meke is so strong already that when he casts or collects magic it can be seen and felt. He is a very kind and sweet boy but he does have some darkness in him.”
“What do you mean about darkness in him, Rain?”
“Meke will become the demon king in a moment if it means saving and helping his people. Meke has no problem becoming an evil villain for the sake of others.”
“That is good to know, however Rain one cannot become a great ruler through fear and terror alone. (shaking from manor kitchens) What was that shaking!”
“Probably Meke getting angry about our people’s mistreatment.”

“Come let us go there now!”
Rain and her mother rush into the courtyard with their father and oldest brother who were catching up to find a battle ensuing. Damage to the kitchen walls and ground outside show a scene they were not expecting. Alec is holding his wrist in intense pain.
“How dare you touch me, you filthy half breed!”
“I told you one time, do not touch my servants.”
“You dare lift your hand against me? A true pureblood noble of house von Caslon.”
“Know your place, you vile piece of dirt.”
“How dare you.”
“Walk away right now before I put you down permanently, little noble trash.”
“I will show you what your place in this world you half breed. Go join your mother and stand off to the side like a good little servant.”
(chanting) “Fires show your strength, power wraps my blade, flames wrap my body, Fire Enchantment!” (intense flames cover his body and sword as he charges Meke)
“Sleep now little trash man.”
Meke easily side steps and dodges him before hitting him a single time in the stomach so hard his flames were extinguished in an instant. He then hits him a second time knocking the wind from him and making him flop against the ground. Meke then slammed his fist into the ground creating and pulling a massive hammer of earth and stone from the ground raising it high ready to crush the lord under its weight. Shela rashes in between them in a panic to stop Meke from killing this little noble.
“Meke-sama please stop! Don’t kill him!”
“Any who dares to lay their hands on you or any servant in such a way are trash and scum who deserve death.“
”Meke-sama, he will learn his place so don’t kill him.”
“This is your last chance Alec. Leave this place and never return for the next time you get out of line with any of my people. I will kill you on the spot. Know your place for I am Meke and I am far stronger than trash like you.”
“Come Meke-sama let us go walk the fields and check on our people.”
Meke lowers his hammer and leaves it in the ground. A hammer so big and strong that all soldiers and people will come to try and lift it yet it barely moves and shifts. The master of the house and father of Meke was able to lift it for a mere moment yet the sight burned into their eyes of Meke easily holding it like a child holding a stick is terrifying. Meke and Shela leave and take a nice long walk from the manor into the town with many people hearing the news from the moment it happened yelling cheers of celebration towards Meke.
“Rain, how strong is Meke?”
“Far stronger than myself or even you Helios. Take this as a warning to your heart and engrave it directly into your soul. Meke is strong, probably as strong as father is right now.”
“How long has Meke been training to become this strong?”
“5 Days.”
(Everyone looks in shock at Rain)
“5 days. Preposterous.”
“Rain.”
“Yes father?”
“Honestly Rain. How strong is Meke? What is his magic level and strength?”
“He is a twin mage as well as I and far stronger than myself at both magic and swordsmanship. He has even mastered the transference of magics and combined his twin magic into a new form of magic.
“What magic does he have? How has he fused them without the church's aid?”
”I don’t know. When I asked him how he did it, he just said he meditated and began to play with the balls of light, swirling them and fusing them. He has both Earth and Nature magic. He said that he has made the most OP magic, Farming Magic. I don’t know what the OP means but farming magic is useful to our people and lands.”
“Keep watching over him and guiding him Rain. If he is already this strong then he will surpass all of us in due time. Helios make sure to correct Alec's behavior. Also inform your mother of what has happened and that I don’t have a stance on the matter. I will say what you are already assuming but don’t come here again if he acts like this, I will not stop Meke.
“Yes father, I will take him away now.”
“Have a safe trip Helios. Come now Sara let us retire for now. There is much to consider with what has happened here.”
Meke and Shela have added a new field to the rotation of crops as well as introducing new crop rotations to ensure the soil is always nutrient and rich. They continue their normal routines while Rain is at school. Meke trains in the sword and magic every morning, Meke and Shela have lunch together, they chat and plan for things, then they tend to the fields before returning to the manor to rest and talk. Shela has been able to develop her own magic powers of thought and perceptions as well as she is able to navigate the best paths. Her magic is mainly focused on enhancements allowing for her and Meke to run long distances and at a rapid pace. Later on her and Meke can sprint through the forest leaping from tree to tree with ease.
Working in secret on this new project. Meke has learned that if he takes the powdered magic crystals and put them in a magical jelly-like slime substance he acquired from harvesting slimes in the deep forest of monsters. He created a flexible material using some monster parts and metals using his earth magics into a long cable. He then connects it to the crystal shard that has heating magic inside and calls Shela into his room.
“You called for me, Meke-sama?”
“Yes, I wanted to hear your thoughts on these research papers.”
(Shela looks over the papers.)
“This looks good, is this the next crop rotation for the fields?”
“Yeah I was thinking of planting more cotton to increase our profits by trade.”
“It is a good idea, Meke-sama. Also Meke-sama, it is quite warm in here, don’t you think?”
“Well just go over there and turn the knob from the green to the red which means off.”
Shela walks over to the nob and turns it off which stops the heat instantly.
“What is this Meke-sama?”
“This is a heater I made.”
“A Heater?”
“It is a device which can be turned on and off to create heat for a home. It can be used in a device which has a cooling ice shard for the hot months. I let this run for almost the entire day to test if it would have any problems and it didn’t.”
“That is an amazing Meke-sama!”
“We will have much work ahead of us, there is only a few months left to debut this to the people of both villages and the city to get them installed. We will start with the villages first in the next few days.”
“Yes Meke-sama!”
This year the winter storm was rougher than usual. Cold snaps across the land destroying crops and food stuff throughout the kingdom and various territories. The cold takes many lives across the land yet a single territory is left unchanged and in great condition. Spending many days inside the manor with Shela taking a walk every other day to one of the areas in their control to help assist people in need, they fix crystals and systems. They help people with things like harvesting firewood and small crop harvesting, and any other tasks the villagers may need. Meke has been working with his magics creating hardened stone shaped things which peaks Shela’s curiosity as she sees many things scattered around Meke’s room.
“Meke what are these things?”
“These are pieces to a new game I'm making.”
“A new game? Why? We have many games.”
“All the games we have are simple noble ones for noble children. I want to make a game that can challenge any adults who may play them.”
“Oh, is that so? So what is this one?”
“These are pieces of black or white and your goal is to jump over the opponents color pieces to take them. If you get one to the end of the board it becomes the king and then can go all directions. This game is called Checkers”
“That is great Meke-sama! Let's play a game!”
(They play Checkers.)
“What did you think of this one Shela?”
“This one is very fun. It is a bit simple but it is interesting.”
“Let's play this one then. It is a simple premise but requires much more thought and planning. It uses smaller colored pieces which are colored each color on each side. The goal of this game is to place your color pieces and flip the opponents pieces into your color when next to it. This game is called Reversi.”
(They play a few rounds of Reversi.)
“What did you think of this one Shela?”
“Meke-sama! This one is really good and fun. It is frustrating but still fun!”
“I have this last one, it is much more difficult to learn and play and requires some memorization if you're interested.”
“Oh yes please Meke-sama. I love all of these games!”
(Meke explains Chess, what the pieces are and how to play. They play Chess.)
“Ah I lost! This one is really hard, Meke-sama!”
“So does that mean you don’t like it?”
“No, I like it. I like any and all things you do Meke-sama! It is hard, that's for sure.”
“That's not the only thing. Shela blushes and looks away for a moment, her face beat red. Anyways since you like any and all things I do apparently, how about this? Do you like this?”
Meke pulls Shela into his lap in a moment causing her to be startled as he nestles into her. She turns red instantly as she feels Meke hold her tight, squeezing her into him, his breath on her neck, his whispers dancing across her neck and ears gently soothing her. He begins to pat her head and rub it slowly letting his hand linger on the side of her cheek holding her gaze.
“I haven’t held you tight like this in a while. I haven’t given you any pats or hugs.”
“Meke-sama. Not here, not now. Let us cuddle later.”
“Oh, is that what you want my beautiful servant?”
“I am here to serve you Meke-sama. Your every want, need, and desire for that is my duty and my job.”
“Remember Shela, this goes both ways. It is not just about what I want, what I desire, what I need.”
“Yes Meke-sama.”
They cuddle the night away and the next morning they set out for the mines. Meke has been making new cables and boxes making them more durable and resistant, improving them so they don’t break down anymore. He also connected them to various heating and cooling crystals with a nob which can choose the level of power and if it will be cold or heat generated from the box. He also added a small wind crystal inside to push the power out the top and sides making a better unit. He added a nice stone bottom to it which he will create in the location raising it off the floor or the wall. They spend the rest of the winter, mass producing the various games out of stone then marble as Meke grew stronger, they play games and cuddle, as well as visit each of the villagers houses then the cities replacing all their existing units and revamping the collected one to a level which can be used at the current generation level. After a few weeks before the winter frost is set to end the lord meets with his advisors as the cold snap finally lets up to do damage control.
“M'lord, I have gathered all the materials from last year.”
“Thank you. Let us review all the information we have gathered from this winter's discoveries.”
“Comparing the reports from last year there appears to be 7 people who fell Ill and no loss of life. We have 19 crates of food stuff going into the winter with one more harvest that happened in the first two weeks of the cold snap.”
“Wait, I know my memory isn’t the best but these numbers seem higher than last year. What about the people.”
“There were less sick people and no deaths.”
“How many last year?”
“We had about 40 sick and 12 died.”
“And the food reserves?”
“M’lord the report from last year had us at 6 crates of food stuff going into the winter with intense rationing and no second harvest of crops.”
“You said we have 19 crates of food stuff and we had another harvest during the cold snap?”
“That is correct M’lord.”
“What has happened? How are we so prosperous?”
“We do not know what has happened or what good fortune has befell us this year.”
(In walks Sara Mekes mother and the lord's wife)
“You have our son to thank for that Fernando.”
“Sara, what brings you here today?”
“This.”
“What is this?”
“My reports on our people.”
“And what does it say?”
“The amount of letters we have received in thanks to the hard work of Meke and Shela are unparalleled. The heaters have kept the people warm and the excess foods have kept the people happy.”
“Heaters?”
“An invention of Meke’s. Apparently he found a deposit of magic crystals and made something that is attached to a long cable. This allows you to adjust the level of heat generated from the crystal with a nob and it has a panel outside the home that absorbs magic”
“These are the design documents I snatched from Meke’s room.”
“This is amazing!”
“There is another function as well.”
“It can also generate a cool aura as well!”
“Apparently they are working on installing them in the manor as we speak. Shela has been doing work in Rain and My room all day.”
“His efforts always surprise me.”
“He is our son. He cares little for nobility and rank but only for the safety, prosperity, and security of our people.”
“His efforts will be rewarded, you have my guarantee Sara.”
“Good because he is not like his brothers who care little for people.”
A few days pass a Meke spends his time with his people in the fields with Shela as his brothers stay within the walls of the manor not causing any harm to the people. Meke is gathered with all of his brothers and sister into the manor's great chamber at the formal request of their father. Meke hardly ever visits the manor except to sleep, and when he does visit he limits his time to the bedroom, kitchen, and common areas. Looking around the walls are exquisite marbles, golds, and silks. Paintings decorate the walls of the greatest of champions in the family history. Pillars and vases decorate the room under each of the chandeliers. This just proves the point Meke tries to make with his people of “great wealth to one is not as good as some wealth to all.” They all become quiet as the lord lifts his hand to speak.
“Today I have gathered you for a single purpose. Rewards for hard work. Helios and Alec, you are my oldests therefore you will attend the magic academy then after completion you will enter a knighthood of your choosing to become lords of your own domain. Rain, you are the first daughter therefore you will be married to House Torgal, a noble house on the northern border and close friends of mine. Shela you are to be in complete ownership of Meke as his primary maid and caregiver with full access to everything like normal. Finally Meke I will leave this land to you when you become of age and-”
The room explodes in a boisterous amount of cries and pleads against this decision by some of the loyal followers of the older brothers and other advisors in the room. From the brothers themselves thinking their lineage is the most important and the older advisors keeping with standard traditions. Fernando raises his hand and after a few moments of the room not being silent he slams his fist down on the side table next to his throne which causes it to explode as he yells.
“Silence! I am the lord of this land and when you are in my audience you will remain quiet. Now to continue I will explain why Meke will take my lordship. Now August, read off the achievements of each of the boys starting with Helios, then Alec, then Meke.”
“I will now read the list of accomplishments from each of you. Helios you have slain a great fire lizard, a large quill bore, a giant concorda, and a Havoc fly. Helios has also completed basic advanced and adventuring level fire magic. Helios has also completed all basic and advanced survival skills, knight skills, swordsmanship, and armor training. Helios has completed all noble training currently offered and has held high marks in most school studies. Alec you have slain a Salamander, a Large Tor Goat, a Rapid Quiller, and an Earth Dragon Welp. Alec has completed all required survival and knight training offered by the local garrison. Alec has both master level Fire Magic and Adventuring Survival skills. Alec has completed all noble training currently offered as well, as having high marks in almost all subject in school. Finally to Meke. Current monster slain is none. Current knighthood training is none. Current survival skills are none. Current adventuring skills are none. (Alec is smirking at the list of none.) Alec your smiling pretty hard for someone so sure they get the lordship. Now let me read the actual list of achievements. (He drops the two sheets of paper which were compiled on and pulls out a long scroll which unravels to the floor.) Here we go down this long list. Meke has completed basic, advanced, and master level in the following subjects. History, Economics, Agriculture, Farming, Nobility, . Meke has discovered a new deposit of Magic Crystal and has began harvesting it for our people. Meke has been increasing the technology of our small territory making it just as technologically advanced as a large adventuring city. Meke has invented a new form of magical cable which can connect a magic switch to somelike like a heating or cooling unit, lights, or even short ranged communication. Meke has been helping the people by giving them abundances of food, shelter, resources, and kindness making our populace boom with new births even in the harshest of winters. Meke’s increase to our agriculture has given us almost double the amount of food in our reserves for the winter with extra harvests even in the cold earth. Meke has enhanced our farmlands ensuring almost 98% of crops are harvestable in each harvest and the crops themselves tend to grow at a faster rate giving us even more harvest cycles in a given year. Meke has been tinkering and forging new pieces of equipment to assist our people in their daily lives. Meke has been talking to our city and villages in order to get better waste management and our populace has greatly decreased sickness and plague. Meke has developed a new medicine using a healing mage to what he calls an aloe gel making it antiseptic, using Meke’s new washing and cleaning techniques on wounds with this gel has had no deaths thus far for this year with many reported injuries. Meke has introduced a new education system that has been approved by Lord Fernando and will be debuting this spring requiring all children of all ages to attend formal educational training to increase the literacy and arithmetic levels of all our people across the board. I can keep continuing since I am half way down the scroll but I feel that is enough information to stop.”
The room remained silent the entire time the reading took place. After he finished Lord Fernando stood and spoke to those who knelt before him.
“Know this Helios and Alec. Although your achievements are great and you are very strong in combat against monsters and people there are many other kinds of battles which take place. Combat can include not only physical things like swinging a sword but also mental things like doing mathematics, planning a war or city, building and forging new things and many other things. I made Meke the lord of this land due to his massive achievement involving our people, not based on combat strength alone. You may come to this city and walk its streets but when everyone cowers in fear because you take their things due to your family ties, you steal their goods because you're a noble, you want any and all things without work, these are the things which Meke is not. You spent your time off from school in this manor doing what? Bossing around our servants and staff? Taking things when you want? Reading or training when you are bored when there is nothing more for you to do? Playing the games which Meke has made in your lazy state? Meke has been toiling away in the lands even during this winter. He helps mine the ore and crystals, he helps chop the firewood, he helps gather the herbs and medicines. He gives the people new games, new technologies, and hope. He deserves so much more that I can't give him due to his birth to my second wife and not my first. I hope you learn to reflect and see your own weakness and can grow into men who have courage and dignity. We have enough nobility which treat their people like garbage. You are all dismissed. Leave my chambers.”
Everyone disperses as Meke heads to meet Rain in her room with Shela. They knock then enter to find Rain and Sara.
“Enter.”
“Pardon the intrusion.”
“Good afternoon mother, sister.”
“This is amazing brother! You are going to be the next lord!”
“I am so proud of you son. I talked with Fernando to have you rewarded for your hard work but I expected him to make you the next lord. It is a small territory near the border but it is far enough away from the capital that it shouldn’t be a major problem.”
“All nobility is a problem these days. Brother makes great changes that the people love and adore him then the nobles hate them because they don’t like him..”
“There is nothing we can do at the moment, Rain. Your father has chosen a nice boy and family for you to marry into in preparations to the possible situations that may arise when Meke becomes lord. Make sure you keep training your twin fire and ice magic as well as keep in good terms and relations with Meke and Shela.”
“Yes mother, I will keep that in mind. I plan to use my influence in the family to bring the city and village under Meke’s control anyways.”
“I will take my leave, I look forward to great things from you too. You're my children so greatness runs in your veins.”
“Thank you mother.”
(Sara von Caslon leaves the room.)
“So what do you need from me Rain?”
“Ah yes I want to play some games with you and Shela.”
“Well I will leave that to you two. I am going to go and plan our next move.”
(Shela and Rain bond over many games. They chat about Meke, love, the future, and all kinds of various things for the rest of the day.)
Meke has been receiving many reports of different kinds of resources in various regions around their territory. He makes a trek out with Shela to the village located on the mountain side. When they arrive they check on the village like usual before viewing the mountain range and various resources, having grown much stronger through constant training with Rain, he is able to sense the different types of resources in the mountain. He then heads to meet with the village chief.
“Ah lord Meke-sama. To what do we owe this pleasure? Come to say goodbye from the various checks?”
“No actually, I am here to inquire about another opportunity. ”
“What is that Meke-sama? Whatever I can do to help I will, you have done so much for us this last year.”
“I can open some tunnels into the mountains for mining and harvesting resources. You will need to provide the man power to do so but I plan to set up a camp of sorts on the edge of the village and mountain range.”
“Ah well that can be arranged but-”
“I plan to increase the size of this village and put you in charge of it. It will be a little more difficult however I think I can assist you in the creation of new buildings.”
“Is that so Meke-sama?”
“I will demonstrate what I mean after I dig some tunnels for mines and make a few more fields for the increased abor of the village.”
“Thank you Meke-sama. It will be helpful to have housing and food for the new people.”
Meke and Shela take their leave as they head over to the edge of the mountain range and set up a basic camp for the two of them. They walk the range and Meke maps out which resources are where. They approach an area where Limestone and Quartz is plentiful and Meke uses his magics to harvest and powderize all the materials to fill stone like chests that most would assume is a mere bench. He keeps them solid on the top and sides and leave the bottoms open so he can access them from anywhere there is ground, he spreads out many “stone benches” for people to sit on and then using his various magic power he slams into the ground hard. 15 small stone like huts erupt from the ground around the edge of the mountains allowing for places where some of the new workers will reside. They are simple buildings with a slightly slanted roof, there walls are made from a concrete like thick stone like substance unfamiliar to the world but can be explained by magic. They have white walls and holes for windows and doors. They can house 1 family or up to 4 people working together.
“Meke-sama! This is amazing! You can make houses now?”
“I can but they aren't very good yet. It takes a lot of power to do these 15 small huts.”
“Still though. This is amazing. You can make entire houses now!”
“I plan to remake all these houses no matter how long it takes. Let us gather some materials.”
“Yes, Meke-sama. It will be done.”
“This is the start of our next plan. Remaking the territory. Let's work hard together.”
“Yes Meke-sama!”
Meke and Shela return to the village and using ropes made out of chalk and other supplies they explain the plan.
“Welcome back young lord. Did you do everything you needed?”
“We did. Now we will explain the plan so please gather everyone in the village. Many things need to be done then explained.”
(Some time later.)
“This is the first step of the plan. We will take these chalk ropes and place them out to make outlines then raise them high and let them slam down making lines. We will spend the rest of the day making all the different lines. Shela, the village chief, the village blacksmith, and myself will help guide all of you in this endeavor. Just remember to stay warm, it is still very cold outside and we don’t want any of you to fall ill.”
The villagers cheer with vigor and begin to work. They make large squares with the ropes, not knowing what they are making from overhead they are making blueprints for houses. Each one is large enough to have its own kitchen, servant room, main room, 3 childs rooms, storage room, and various small bathrooms. They spend all day making these squares and retiring in their homes for the night. As morning breaks Meke and Shela gather everyone to show them various things.
“First on the list is this. You are all familiar with this system for heating and lighting so this is not needed to be explained any further. Next up are these knobs, all of you possess some innate level of magic in your body though it may be faint and weak it is still there. So these knobs are colored red and blue to represent red for hot and blue for cold. Turning these knobs will allow water to flow out at the desired temperature. This is a toilet, you pull the lever or push the handle and water will flow through it pushing waste out of your house automatically. These will be standard in everyone's home as well as all the various pipes to allow water to enter and exit.”
(Silence befalls the stunned surprised people. They burst into shock and awe, cheering filling the entire area.)
“Now split up into groups, people who can work hard and follow directions to put everything in place and people who can move things into people's homes.”
Some time passes as they quickly split into eager groups for Meke and Shela and are ready to learn all the new things. Once they get down to what they will be doing, everyone takes a short rest for some food and to warm up. Meke begins to chug some magic potions Shela brought from the manor and they get to work.
“Shela, let's begin.”
“Yes Meke-sama!”
People watch as Meke slams hard into the ground, shaking the ground as he raises three houses from the earth made of white marble and quartz concrete. The roofs are slanted allowing water to run off into a gutter to feed the water into water treatment areas which are filled with slimes which eat waste before returning it to the river. They have many things made from this concrete like substance like shelves, bathing tubs, sinks, benches, and other things which would not move. Meke takes a break as the next teams enter and begin. They place the lights in each room and lay the cables for them and put boxes on the wall in the area. They lay pipes for water going in and out of the house not connected to anything yet but ready for future use. As Meke feels these things push against the wall he reaches his magic power out and softens that area for things to fit flush into the wall. His concrete provides good insulation and the houses have cross blowing windows so wind can cool the house. Now that the first 3 houses are done the people grow with excitement and vigor at the completion of this project but are limited to only 9 houses a day for it just takes so much power from Meke to provide them the houses. While they wait for Meke to recover for the next round of houses they do all other things like put up shutters and windows. They also fix up their new homes and begin to set up the various jobs and systems working under Shela and her guidance as Meke sleeps through. When Meke leaves the village chiefs house work begins in earnest. After expending such great magic power he is so tired they have to carry him from the ground into the chief's home to rest. Many days pass at a slow pace and they have built the entire village including all the storage houses, farm lands, and a small stone like wall around the village to protect it from smaller animals. They toil away getting the village with all its systems ready, for the roofs Meke uses magic crystalized powder and a thin clear concrete mixture which turns red due to its magic absorption nature and this powers the house. Each house now has a magic energy storage tank, magical electrical power, and water systems. They leave and return to the manor weeks later to no one's surprise, the manor has heard of their new advancements and good deeds. They rest and relax before setting out to do the same for the other village and then they created another village with its own farms which cleaned up the city's main homeless and orphan people. The winter passes as they finish all their work and then rest in the manor, Meke’s powers have increased greatly through all the power expenditures. Starting with 3 houses per cycle with 3 cycles, he began to add more cycles then added more per cycle to fully use all his magic power which then helps his power grow overall, now he is doing 5 cycles with 10 buildings each. Or a few large buildings like storage, barracks, halls, inns, and other businesses. They get closer while spending time in the manor before making their rounds to check on the mines, the farms and villages, and the city itself. They walk through the grand city of loud boisterous people. They wander the city which has been filled with people in a mere month no one would suspect there was nothing really here before this small city. They wander the streets and view the wares being sold at the various stalls and shops.
“Meke-sama look at these! They are super pretty.”
“Oh do you like these Shela?”
“They are so sparkly, Their beauty is only second to the view around us.”
“They are beautiful but they aren't even able to hold a sparkle to your radiance Shela. Come here try these on, a necklace and hair clips to match.”
Shela is hesitant but tries them on as she always turns red from Meke. Meke buys them from the shop keeper and gets some information about the area for a date. Meke approaches a very happy and excited Shela.
“Come now Shela, we must go and enjoy it.”
“Enjoy what Meke-sama?”
“This date I have with you.”
“Date?!?”
“Yes, unless I am not worthy of your time.”
Shela grows red and flustered with emotion. Her face betrays her. She tries to defend against Meke’s onslaught.
“Of course not Meke-sama! You are most certainly worth my time and all the time in the world!”
“That is how I feel every moment I am with you Shela. You are a beauty unlike any other and that is what I want, you.”
“Meke-sama.”
“Now come let us go on a wondrous date. Let me spoil you and care for you Shela.”
Meke grabs her by the hand and they go off on a wondrous adventure. They hold hands and walk around the marketplace. They buy various kinds of foods, trinkets for Shela and for later, and overall spoils her. They sit on a bench watching the sunset as he pulls her close so she can lay against him.
“Thank you Meke-sama. I really enjoyed today.”
“For you Shela, always. You are my first and main priority.”
“Meke-sama.”
Meke pulls her face to his and looks her deep in the eyes. She grows red and tries to pull away as her heart begins to race. Meke stands firm and strong and meets her gaze as he pulls her in and kisses her deeply. He holds her tight in his arms hugging her, embracing her, never letting her go. Her heart and soul are filled with joy for Meke feels the same way about her that she feels about him. About how she has always felt about him, about how she enjoys every moment they share, all his compliments and stares, how he watches her when she walks in and out of rooms, about how he just enjoys her company. They enjoy a peaceful sunset cuddling under the fading warmth of the fading yellow, orange, and red colors before returning to the manor. Rain seeing Shela come into the manor linking hands with Meke puts a smile on her face and she calls for Shela later that night to her room.
“What can I do for you young mistress?”
“We have gone over this many times, Shela. Rain. Call me Rain when we are alone like this.”
“Okay, What can I do for you Rain-sama?”
“Oh nothing much. I was just wondering how your little date went.”
“Date? What are you talking about?”
“Don’t try to lie to me, Shela. I saw you and Meke come into the house holding hands. So how was it?”
“It wasn’t a date really.”
“Oh then what was it just a conversation?”
“I mean I guess. We cuddled and he held me and we talked.”
“Wait. What! I was kidding about the whole date thing. I just wanted to poke some fun since you two don’t seem to be all that interested in each other when you're around us.”
“I mean we aren't seeing each other or anything. We only act closer when no one is around.”
“So what do you do? Like passionately hold hands, maybe even interlocking your fingers together? You silly love bugs.”
“I mean. Yes and no. Like we kiss and stuff as well but we aren't a formal couple. I wouldn’t call us love bugs.”
“Wow.”
“What's wrong Rain-sama? You are beat red!”
“I need a minute. I didn’t expect this, it caught me off guard. I approve of course and so does mother, but I need to inform her. Leave me and go enjoy some alone time with Meke.”
Shela leaves to spend time with Meke as the night passes. The next few days are checking on the villages and getting things ready for the large city. Shela spends her time back and forth with both Meke and Rain after they train every morning until it is time for Rain to leave to go off being married. They gave her a farewell for some time and that she would visit when she could. After she leaves Meke and Shela rest hard as Lord Fernando’s health begins to decline. His illness is untreatable and he grows weak and tired everyday. Although he is comforted by Sara, Meke and Shela begin to take over the Lord's duties to see everything gets done. After looking into the finances they begin to plant commercial crops to bring in more wealth with limits to ensure people don’t over produce them and have no actual food. They work through the first few months of spring with them splitting the field and lord duties in half so both get their full attention. Shela runs the finances and economics while Meke runs the farms, they spend days apart then come together for long cuddles and chats about what is going on. Finally it has come time for Meke to ready the city for its new creation. Keeping the city adjacent to where it currently is means that the people can easily move into the new city and they can scrap each house one after another. So after they finish all their plans they make for the city's edge. As they travel by carriage to the city's edge Meke looks at Shela and gives her a signed scroll.
“What is this Meke-sama?”
“This is my present to you Shela. Happy birthday!”
“You remembered Meke-sama!”
“Well of course Shela. You are my personal maid, my friend, and the one who I spend all my time with.”
“Awe thank you Meke-sama. You didn’t have to!”
“Go ahead and open it.”
She opens it and her face sinks in confusion.
“What does this mean, Meke-sama?”
“This is your freedom. For all of your hard work and dedication this is a writ of freedom for you.”
“But why Meke-sama? Am I not good enough to serve you?”
“You are Shela. You are the closest person to me. You have been there for me since I was a naked babe. You are everything I hope, dream, and want. For this I can only give you the basic things for I don’t have much else to give you.”
“But Meke-sama you don’t need to. I will serve you by your side for as long as you want me to! Why give me something that is unneeded?”
“You can still serve me Shela but it pains my heart to see you bound by the chains of duty. I want you to be happy, healthy, and free. If you want to keep serving me I will welcome it with vigor. But if you want to do anything else I will not stand in your way. You are so pretty, kind, and smart. You can get anyone or do anything so I want to give you the freedom to do it. That's all. So I have to ask Shela. What is it you want? ”
“I want you Meke-sama. I want to stay by your side. I don’t want to leave you Meke-sama. Don’t send me away!”
“I will not send you away, Shela. You are my everything. You are my friend, my family, my equal. I will always enjoy you and your company.”
Meke pulls her close next to him and holds her tight. She blushes hard as he strokes her back and hair. He whispers to her, setting her heart ablaze like he always tends to do when he pulls her close.
“You are so beautiful Shela. You bring absolute joy and happiness to my life. Everyday I am with you is the best of my life. I want you and only you for you are the only thing I look at. Shela you are the best thing of my life so stay by my side freely not being bound by the chains of servitude.”
“Ah Meke-sama. Stop it. You're making me blush.”
“It suits your face though. Almost as much as this.”
“This?”
Meke kisses her deeply causing her heart to race, sinking into the bliss of her love for Meke. She needs him, she needs to tell him, she wants and needs him. But she becomes distracted once more due to their arrival. They begin to walk the city and greet the elders. They tell them of their plan and to be ready for the arrival of many from the villages. They set up many camps as the others arrive and return for a night of cuddles with Shela before they begin their plan of the city. Meke takes many potions and the Jewel he found from the mountains center that absorbs magic and radiates power, it has been said to be an artifact and even charges magic potions increasing their potency. They arrive to the main area adjacent to the city along the river with other villagers and the city folk that came to help. They camped out for a few days laying the chalk lines, roads, paths, and any other things. The villagers were fine, they were used to this, the city folk grew tired of camping, tired of the young lord bossing them around, tired of their lives. Then the day came and morning light began to break over the horizon. Meke chugs many potions reading himself for the largest magic power he has ever used thus far. The ground cracks and shakes as the people wake from their sleep and come outside to see buildings as far as they could see begin to rise up from the ground. Buildings of white stone and marble rise up from the ground like plants in nature standing high in the sky. An exhausted Meke heads to his tent to lay down leaving Shela in charge of everything as they get the teams working then the people begin to move in their new homes. The next morning Meke chugs potions once more and as he casts his magics this time a large onlooking crowd watches the young lord create miracles before their very eyes. Huge buildings from storage to shops and businesses to guilds rose up from the ground completing the city. Once more Meke leaves to his tent to sleep the whole next day while Shela helps people get set up. The third day more people gather as Meke’s exhaustion has not decreased and his body grows weak and tired. He drinks the last of the potions just to be able to stand. He has one last thing to do and he needs the strength to do it. He swallows down the large magical treasure and gets enough magic power to walk the city with Shela. They are thanked constantly as they watch the teams finish the installation of all the various systems like water and power bringing the technological level up greatly. All the orphans were sent to school, beggars, vegabonds, mercenaries, and homeless were gathered up and sent to work the fields or mines giving them jobs, and those with great magic talent were recruited into the Knights of Meke as Shela called them. Many great things begin to happen all at once with Shela heading everything due to her immense capabilities. After checking on the city, they sleep in their new mayor house and Meke sleeps harder than he ever has being unable to wake up for most of the next day. When he does get up the tiredness keeps him from moving well, he is sluggish and has a magic deficit requiring much bed rest. He meets with all the new knights, military, city guard, and leaders of the various guilds and people. After speaking with them and is happy with Shela’s progress he decides it is time to finish this. The next morning Meke chugs great magic potions giving him the strength to make his way into the center of the city that was left blank. Shela looking for Meke finds him there and her excitement at his good health and fortune turns sour. Meke is pale white, there is no color left in him, he is sickly and weak. He pushes himself one last time showing his true potential and power, the absorbed magic stone begins to crack and explode inside his body releasing it’s immense power. The cries and horrors of those around him who gather at the morning light were Meke and Shela are and when they see the state of Meke they yell for him to stop yet he does the unthinkable. Shela has always admired Meke and grew close to him, she has gone on dates with him, cuddled him, kissed him. She finally realized her true feelings for him and what she wanted from him. She constantly talked to him and spent time with him, he constantly told her she was welcome, he eased her fears and mind when she thought of herself as only a mere servant and maid, and always cared deeply for her. She loved him and had feelings for him but finally she has the courage to tell him, today is the day she confesses everything for Meke. With him next to her even as the lord, she feels her personal worth, her value as a person, her strength from being near him and by herself, he freed her from her bonds, her freed her from her role as a maid and servant and declared her his assistant and his friend, he gave her the things she has always wanted, he teached her magic, he teached her how to read and write, he gave her the power and knowledge to do anything she wanted to, she LOVED him and is in LOVE with him. And now he is helping the entire town, all the villagers, all the people who LOVE him and WANT him. This makes her mad, jealous, upset, for he is a lord and he is the one who is depended on, he is the one all the girls want to take as their husband, and she doesn’t want anyone to have him. She wants to be his one and only and she finally realizes he has been there all along, he doesn’t chase other girls, he only looks at her and always has. It's silly that she hasn't noticed, so now she plans to tell him how she feels about him when he finishes his great works. He gains back all his magic power the magical stone begins to activate as the magic mana potions fill his body and blood with the magical power and he looks at her with deep love and affection in his eyes.
“I will sleep for some time so I leave it to you Shela.”
“Wait what? No. I don’t want this Meke-sama! No! Come back to me!”
Meke’s silence followed by a smile hits her like a train for her heart sinks, something bad is going to happen, no she must stop him, no he must not go, no he must not leave, NO, he can’t do this not here not now not ever! The people grow shocked at what they see next. Meke’s eyes and nose begin to bleed as he slams into the ground causing a great rumbling that is felt across the territory and shaking the lord's house where his elder sick father stays with his wife and maids by his side. In a single moment the people watch in horror and shock as Meke turns into stone in his pose slamming into the ground rising up on a platform making a beautiful marble fountain below him with water flowing in from the water lines. The shaking continues as a massively thick wall erupts from the ground surrounding the entire city walling it in with many gates, all the farm lands of the territories are tilled and fertilized, the forests grow more dense thick and lush, and finally all the plants across the territory get hit with a wave of magical power and are invigorated and rejuvenated all at once. All the flowers dead, alive, and struggling to survive in the lords room dance to life turning green and pretty once more. A few days pass and the recovered lord takes his wife, mistress, and maids out to see the destruction but they come across a different sight. They come atop the largest of hills which stands before the mountain side but still high enough to look down at the city he worked so hard to build, but he sees a different sight, a better sight. A large white marble stone wall runs the entire length of this massively white city. The city is of white buildings with slanted red clay roof tops. The massive city is laid out in such a way that even clear streets can be made out even at this long distance. As they made their way down to the city, the large 10m (30ft) tall white stone decorated marble inlaid walls stood tall, the large gate being one of 3 has large towers and a new gate and door system. They are welcomed in as the lord of the land and before them they see unfamiliar sights, large pristine white buildings tower overhead, the large wide streets allow for the advancement of technology and the possible inclusion of new carriages and other types of vehicles, looking at the buildings they see things like running water and lights, they see dirty water and sewage leaving by pipes out of the city to a facility to be collect and treated, paved roads to travel on, decorative brick walk paths, and a statue of Meke atop a glorious clear flowing fountain. After admiring it and seeing a saddened Shela they learn the truth of the statue and the loss of Meke. This is a shocking and sad revelation for them since the last year of them being cooped up in the manor while receiving constant reports from the mayor and villagers of Meke’s constant new achievements and breakthroughs. The peoples love and adornment of him, the success of helping the village thrive and all the new economically life enhancing projects for the people has had their territory grow massively in population, wealth, comfortability, and prosperity. The lord begins to learn about this new city and its people created by Meke and Shela from Shela herself and about how everything has gone for so long now.
The lord begins to learn about this new city and its people created by Meke and Shela from Shela herself. She told him about how everything has gone for so long now. 5 long years pass as the lord's health has improved enough to continue to watch over this town as the stone statue of Meke stays in the same pose it was in the center of the town ushering a sense of hope and freedom to the people. The lord begins to be educated at the behest of his wife by Shela on things like economics, engineering, architecture, farming, and other fields at his personal request. Sara joins in for their personal private education as well as Rain when she visits. He wanted to understand the person his son became, he is loved by all, respected by all, and has the full support of the people yet did not obtain this by fighting on the battlefield but by helping his people. He knows deep down that even if he and his sons were to fight against this nation created by Meke they would lose to the ones who love and support Meke, therefore he began to learn and study the things Meke learned and grew closer to truly knowing his son. After some time he was able to do some public works of his own and allow the city to truly prosper. Shela continued her job working and as the sons came back graduated form their magic academy lives, changed more or less, they still try to throw their weight around a bit in a land not of their own and get threatened to be tossed out of the city. They stay at the lord's manor while visiting and get visited by their sister who has become beloved by the people and is now close to Shela. It was rocky at first but Shela is not a maid nor is she a servant, she is an equal and is one who made this city from the ground up stone by stone tilling the land all the same as Meke, she is seen as a leader and ruler of this city side by side as Meke. Starting with the new year the cities populace has an increased education level as well as Shela finally being able to fulfill Meke’s desire for a professional army of sorts. Naming them something cool she has the most veteran and loyal of soldiers become the Knights of Meke. They are a knight company that besides their training they are the ones who do all the hard labor like road work, construction, and field work in a time of peace. Under Shela’s guidance and hired adventurers they are trained intensely in magic and spell casting learning how to use personal shields and enhancements to better themselves in combat. An entire mage company was born from this as well and they are learning more combat focused magics as well as training in hand to hand and unarmed combat by the knights to hold their own. This makes a good fighting force to defend the lands as well as press against all who stand in their way, they are limited to the number of soldiers to population to prevent more growth of the people but still are able to spread out their influence as they see fit in service to Meke. Rain and Shela have been growing close so now that the oldest son's visit and she talks to them and tells them of what is what, as well as about this new city and its people, Rain escorts them around and they truly get to marvel at this city's prosperity and power. Even the guards of the city have a nice job and are trained by some ex-adventures as magic casters and town guards, they even have a small but very powerful military of rigorously trained and disciplined professional soldiers who do the brunt of the physical labor. This city is very progressive allowing for women to be not only warriors and soldiers but as well as hold positions of council and power, hence why Shela is in charge and rules this city in place of Meke. This has been a place that went from a single city and two villages to a massively progressive city and handful of villages with farmlands as far as one could see. The farms produce all manner of crops and the people always have an abundance of food and wealth which has caused much envy from other nations. The merchant coalition to the east that had set up a large trade hub have seen more and more traders pay their tax and then just pass through the area to make it for the massive city under Shela’s control. Many different traders from all kinds bring forth various goods and resources to the city and since the tax is low the merchants tend to set up a permanent shop of sorts and join the merchant guild. This city has 3 main rules which were said to come to Meke in his dreams being chosen when he started building the city. 1: Slavery is legal and is treated as a luxury good. They are for combat, adventuring, servitude, or servicing and there are a ton of rules and regulations placed on those who are under a servitude contract. This has turned slave traders to become more hostile if they don’t take care of their goods and some have become very respected in the ways of slave selling. 2: Black markets are a viable and legal solution, they tend to sell luxury goods like slaves and other contraband items at a higher taxed rate. This allows people to get almost anything in the empire without getting some unwanted attention. You can hire thugs or even assassins to fulfill a goal you may have but this means going through all the proper channels and paperwork as well as paying the fine. Some great master level assassins and spies have set up their services for hire as a legitimate business within Meke’s territory. 3: Prostitution is legal across all of Meke’s territory. There are many different brothels and hotels set up as various dens to have their girls earn good money pleasuring the men. This means there is intense health care and healing done for the girls and they are treated much better. Many slaves are bought and trained here as an alternate life and are given their freedom after they pay off the cost and then some. Almost all the servants and slaves have been able to be treated highly and gain their freedom while some stay as slaves due to their good treatment and desire to be owned. These 3 rules keep Meke’s territory on the minds of all who hear the tales and stories of the lands beyond the mountains. This continues for a few years as they build up their adventuring guilds and a whole new city on the outskirts of a newly discovered dungeon to the south west allowing for a whole new trade empire. The dungeon is a super hard one with 10 floors which are massive in size and as you descend the depths it goes from an easy few levels to start to intensely hard later on. This allows adventurers to sell the magic shards to the guild and the city buys them out creating a great economic system. A new adventuring guild and adventuring schools sprung up incorporating not just training but a full education making great new academies of future adventurers and schoolers. Another year passes as the lord's health declines once again during a walk in town he falls into bad health. Under intense bed rest and care with the comfort of Sara and his mains he gains a huge burst of color and becomes okay. This has them prepare for the surge, he meets with friends and family before the night falls and the last thing he says is “I leave it to you son, you are the lord of this land now.” They rush to him to help the old man and he doesn't make it through the night.
That night the statue of Meke begins to rumble and crack, Shela is by his side in tears for he is dying, his statue cracks at the death of his father. The statue is just as sad as Shela is. The town gathers throughout the night to mourn the passing of the lord as they watch in horror as the cracking and breaking of Meke’s statue begins to drive immense sadness in the hearts of the people. The night is an eerie one with the silence filling the awkward flickering of the fire pits as the unnerving cracking can be heard from the statue. With every new crack the hearts of many break more and more as their hard work has been for naught. Sunlight falls on the land and the statue of Meke cracks deep sending the loudest pop and cracking sound as an echoing wave causing many people to break and it shatters as Shela weeps below it. Sunrise breaks across the horizon making the sky a beautiful myriad of colors from bright red and orange to yellows and light greens. The morning light is crisp and bright to all those who lay in the depression of the night as Meke breaks through his cocoon of stone and earth. He emerges from the rubble in the rays of sunlight as the hope of the people which causes more tears and cries to be heard from all the people, not of sadness and grief but of joy and hope. He now is able to walk amongst them once again and takes Shela in his arms to comfort her. He greets and thanks all those who are present before he grows tired and then heads with Shela to the city's mayor house to review all the reports and rest. He takes some time to fully recover in the lords room alongside Shela learning all that has transpired over the last few years, he has remained the same yet all others have changed greatly over the last five years. This means he is younger then all but still just as wise, his mother and Rain rush to meet him when they get the news.
“Meke your okay! I'm so glad your okay.”
“I’m so glad to see you again soon. Much has changed over the years with your father but it is good to see you in good health.”
“I have heard from Shela about fathers passing. I will do my best to live up to his expectations of my mother.”
“Good. How are you holding up Shela?”
“I am okay. I think I've cried all the tears I'm able to at this moment.”
“It is okay now. Meke is here so that means everything will be okay.”
“Thank you both. I am here now so I will make sure to rest up before I continue mine and fathers work.”
“Good we don’t need you to get ill through work after what just happened with Fernando.”
“Yes mother, I will make sure I am okay.”
“Make sure to spend time with him, Shela. Tell him how you feel and what you want.”
“Thanks Rain. I will.”
“Let's go, we should give them some space.”
“Yes mother. We are gonna leave now, Shela. Relax and enjoy yourselves, catch up but try not to work too hard after all Meke just got back.”
“Thank you for visiting us. I will make sure Meke-sama rests up.”
Sara and Rain leave the room leaving Shela and Meke.
“Come Shela lay with me. How are you? How have you been?”
“I have been okay. It has been a long hard time.”
“5 years huh?”
“Yes. 5 long years. 5 years without you Meke-sama. 5 years-”
Before she could get the words and tears out Meke pulled her close to him and began stroking her hair comforting her letting her cry it all out sobbing and talking about her missing him.
“Shhh. Shhh. It is okay now Shela. I am here now. I am here for you. I am back.”
“Meke-sama! I’ve missed you so much!”
“It is okay. It is all okay now. Shhh come here let me spoil you and give you all the missed affection you need.”
They cuddle and spend time together until night falls and they fall asleep in a cuddling position.
Meanwhile in another kingdom far away advisors gather around a large table with the king and princess.
“What are the new reports chancellor?”
“Here my lord. These are the latest news from the surrounding nations.”
“So the merchants have fully organized. That is not good. They have been trading with us less and less as of late.”
“Yes we have had reduced trade due to the increase in the Caslor territory. Large marble cities have sprung up and they have been taking much of our trade and goods.”
“Hmm Interesting. What about the rest of the empire? I do not worry about mere cities.”
“The empire at large is still worse economically however I believe we should still be cautious. Our reports say that their trade has increased to the point that many traders have been completely passing through the merchant lands in favor of those cities.”
“That seems like a merchant problem to me. Still we will send some envoys to gather more information. Send a summons to Krill for her to respond in kind to anything that may arise.”
“Yes my lord it shall be done.“
”Good, I expect results Chancellor.”
Meanwhile in the merchant lands hostile and aggressive actions of flailing arms and fists have brought the room of merchants to a standstill.
“Is this intel correct?”
“Yes it is. Our scouts have reported that the entire city has magical capabilities. From their lights to their heating and cooling units.” They are a wealthy nation.
“But what of the empire?”
“We have received no such reports of the empire having anything which resembles this technology.”
“We need to keep it that way. If we need to start a war over something so minor or trivial then so be it.”
“You can’t be thinking.”
“Do it. Send a message to them that they will be crushed by the might of our nation.”
“But we don’t have the troops to march on the empire.”
“We can hire as many as needed. Use an excuse like taking the mountain range for the reason why just take the city.”
“Ha it will be done.”
Light breaks and they awake to a new day and a new life together for Meke’s return ushers in a whole new light, but many new things are on the horizon. The rise of merchant guilds to the east. The empire to the north is stirring up political troubles. The kingdom is growing uneasy with the looming civil war. The demons have been more active of late. Much is to come and usher in a wave of unknown problems and possibilities to Meke.
