Salt

In the expansive universe that itself does not know its bounds, creatures rise to their peak and fall under their own weight, nothing is eternal and nothing is meant to endure forever.

One empire in particular left a lasting mark before its disappearance, the humans, those primates that long ago thrived on a long destroyed planet, that no one knows where it was, matter of fact, the entire prosperity of the homo sapiens has fallen into the void of the memory, a shame someone would've said.

In the current years multiple beings achieved the ability to harvest the knowledge of the stars, two in particular are being the main focus of the attention:

The Londar planet-state and the Empire of the Isopteri, behemoth in technology and in greed...today the red, sandy planet know as Londar is by itself a subjective of interculturalism, a place were beings from many places and galaxies come, but it wasn't always like this.

Before the eldest Chronus-sapiens was born, Londar was just another celestial corpse, pretty undenotable too, big, but not that interesting...then the various economic forces that were at a rise in power in various star systems decided to merge on this planet land of nobody:

Londar is not an union for defence, not a union for its people (despite being marketed as one), not a place were cultures can share value, but a true and mastodontic money machine!

The planet is today divided in half, one, a hyper-metropolis of buildings on top of each others, divided in districts and of those there is central one, where La Torre, a giant tower that can be seen over the horizon. The other half is a waste land of red rocks, where a black yellowish liquid can be found in conglomerates.

In the universe is currently celebrate the Dies Lumix Invictis, a celebration dictated by the church, and Londar obviously as all the others participates in the festivity, what barbaric imagine would they give otherwise of their righteous republic if they didn't do so?

For the first time La Torre, that abominable conglomerate of brownish metal that no god would've thought about, shines with some really cool red and green lights, very pleasing to the population, more than this the fact that

1) during this day all warfare is prohibited, and whoever starts a conflict shall be taxed so much by the other powers that no one would dare to even fire a cannon

2) those goddam holo-ads are finally shut down from the tower, no one ever liked them

For the occasion the mercenaries are gonna get a day off too, thing that doesn't happen very often, since Londar to brag about the fact that they do not enforce their population to do anything military related, heavily relies on mercenaries for public protection and military biddings, and the mercenaries are kinda forced to work for them since the whole market shifted into orbiting their direction, having an exclusive on them, and since they have a monopoly on the interstellar market, you always end up working for them even indirectly.

Matter of fact the current head captain, Edeno, of the forces employed by Londar is at 2 districts of distance from the tower (the max he can) with the fifth most influential mercenary, Idoro.

Taking a farther look into what's going on, a small the small unauthorized spaceship is entering the atmosphere almost undetected:

[please identify yourself, violence will be used otherwise] a robotic voice echoes through the vessel, the message comes from the automated security system and is using the ship's speakers, the system is formed by turrets of not the most recent model, that anyway compensate this issue with their numbers, and an ai:

[identification not acquired, firing initiated]

the artificial intelligence proclamaters

and after these words a shower of bullets starts approaching the ship, the number of them is in the millions, so much that only a cloud of smoke can be seen behind; but before they collide, a humanoid figure launches themselves from the ship that is being targeted and claps his hands mid-air, by that simple action an enormous electric shockwave repels the bullets and shuts down the golden turret...an event beyond the imagination of many creatures.

The humanoid figure starts rotating in the air, creating a lightning like propulsion, more similar to a thunderbolt, and directs themselves towards the central district, at the same time the small ship gives affirmative order to other two vehicles, that remove their camouflage that kept them concealed thanks to the low speed at which they were following behind.
