In the darker corners of society exists a cult, barely able to wield an ancient magic that does not belong to them. They continually attempt to harness this power, either to make the hidden creatures of the night obey them or to transform the weak into instruments of their will. Rowan is only a random victim, but his altering brings much more than anyone could’ve expected. He emerges with a blurred line of man and monster, able to become a towering creature with a dungeon core embedded in his chest. Rowan stumbles forward, headfirst trying to navigate a world he’d never known existed with horror and curiosity. The combination of his monstrous form and his dungeon core affords him incredible abilities, but at the toll of other’s lives so he may control and sustain himself. It also casts him as a target to both the cult and other hidden monsters who vie for survival and control. Unable to return to his former life, he grapples with the violence and power at his disposal.
