Because I haven't uploaded a chapter in forever, I wanted to give you this.
The following chapters will be at least twice as long. Hope you'll have fun c:

Rain drops were falling down smashing into the ground, houses and trees soaking everything down to the pores. The wind was clashing against the trees, whirling around debris, the sky was dark only lit up by the occasional lightning strike. Wild fires, that followed after an impact of such pure energy, were almost instantly put out by the masses of water pouring down from the sky.
The villagers seeing this sighted with relief, as it meant that they wouldn't lose too much to this storm. The thunder that followed however, caused them cower in fear. A sound so loud, it made their ears sting and caused the cattle to cry out in fear, almost as if the gods themselves came down from the heavens to punish them for their wrongdoings. They prayed to the gods for forgiveness for whatever sins they've committed and asked to show mercy.
The small city of Acrates was devastated, with nearly 1/5th of all houses destroyed. Wooden planks, stones, tableware, everything one could find in a house or in the nature was laying in the streets, thrown there by the harsh wind, even bodies of some unlucky people, who got hit by one of the flying objects, could be seen. Despite this one house seemed to be somewhat guarded, as almost no debris was found in the yard and with a little to no damage done to the house. If one looked close enough they could see a shimmering layer around the property, flaring up when something was thrown at it, like a barrier. It seemed to guard the house as well as the surrounding garden.

Inside the house, skin piercing screams along with people talking, some even yelling, could be heard. The screams came from a woman, who was in the middle of giving birth to her first child. She was a beautiful roughly 22 years old woman with straight brown hair going past her shoulders, which was now stuck on her body and unlike her normal appearance messed up. Her hazel brown eyes were covered in tears and she was panting heavily, writhing in pain.
"I can't take this any longer! Please make it stop!" She said to man standing beside her while crying. Almost instantly after finishing the sentence another contraction hit her.
The man standing besides her was a handsome looking young man with short black hair and eyes as blue as the skye. He crouched down, took the hand of the women into his.
"We're so close my love, keep going just a little more and our beautiful child will be born. Then when he or she will be older I will be telling our child stories about how strong you were and still will be!" He said reassuringly to his wife. He felt sick to see his wife in such a state and was angry that he could do nothing to protect her or ease her pain other than just being there for her.
"Your husband is right, Linda. I can already see the child's head, keep pushing it's just a matter of minutes now. I will count down from three now and when I say go, then you are gonna push as hard as you can, understood?" The elderly women asked Linda, not in an unfriendly tone, nice but commanding. She wasn't going to be easy on Linda because that would just prolong the birth and endanger the child and herself. -This is quite a tough birth, she's quite unlucky that this is her first one- the elderly though while waiting on a response from Linda.
"I got it, Margaret" answers Linda through her pressed teeth.
-I hope that the baby will be out with this- thought Margaret just before she started counting.
"Three, two, one, now start pushing!" Margaret almost yelled the last part to encourage Linda.
A last loud scream left Linda's mouth, followed by low breathing and a heavy sight. She looked at her husband smiled and said "We've done it Scott. Now we are officially parents."
Scott looked with teary eyes at his wife and said "Yes my love, we are parents now. You've done so well, our child will be at least as strong as you, if not stronger." Just as he finished that sentence the loud cries of a baby could be heard followed by the voice of Margaret.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
"Congratulations, it is a healthy boy. I will hand him to you shortly dear, but first drink this blood replenishment potion, you've lost quite a bit blood." said Margaret and gave Scott the potion to help his wife drink it.
"Can I take my boy into my arms now?" Lind asks with almost a begging expression.
"Yes" Margaret responds with a smile "Here take him, he will be a strong boy once he grows up, just like his father"
A loving smile crossed Linda's face as she looks at her son. -Finally I get to see you, I love you so much- After a short while she looks lovingly at Scott and asks "What will his name be? I think Edgar would fit him quite well."
"Edgar, that's what his name will be. Edgar Moore son of Scott and Linda Moore" Scott says looking like the proudest man alive at his son and his wife.
Seeing that everything went well Margaret wished them a good night but also remembered Scott to make sure that Linda stays in bed for at least a week and that she will check up on Edgar sometime during the next days.
""Thank you"" Linda and Scott said to each other after several minutes beaming with a smile and thus ending the happiest day of their life.

~two years later~
Linda P.O.V.:
"Edgar come here! Stop playing with the twig, it's time for lunch" I still don't understand why he's carrying that twig around all the time. Well, at least he seems to be having fun and it keeps him out of trouble. Though maybe it's keeping him way too occupied, he doesn't listen very well once he starts playing with it. I definitely need to figure out why he's so fond of that stick.
"Mommy, daddy gone!" I hear Edgar say with a sad look. His eyes are, like his dad's, blue as the sky and he's my brown hair. I start smiling at Edgar while thinking how he, obviously, looked like his dad and myself.
"Your daddy is at work, making sure we are all safe. He'll be back sooner than you think. So you need to make sure that you eat well and grow up strong to protect us all when you are older" I try to reassure him that everything is fine and to my pleasure I see Edgar's face light up in awe and even see a tint of pride for his dad in his eyes.
"Grow up big!" Edgar yelled with excitement as he starts putting some food into his mouth.
"Carefull that you don't try to much at once! Or you might get some stomach aches!" Geez just like his father, eating without a care for the world.
Just as he is grabbing some more food with his left I see that he is still holding onto the twig with his right hand.
"Edgar why do you always carry that stick around?" I ask curiously waiting for some childlike answers. Then I see the spark of excitement in his eyes, one that I often see in my husbands eyes whenever he finds something extremely interesting or exciting.
"Wand! Magic!" he explains with the biggest smile I've seen on him so far while swinging around the twig.
I sight and tell him that he shouldn't spend too many thoughts on magic and wands, as he won't be able to get his own wand until he is at least 8 years old.
What had been his dad telling him about? It's still way too early for a child like Edgar to worry about magic. We can't even say for sure that he will ever be able to use it, telling him about it so early will only lead to hurt feelings in case he isn't able to use it. I'll have to talk to Scott about it. Though I'm glad that he seems to be interested in magic, I think it would be a good idea to start saving some money, so that we can get good quality material in case he is able to practice magic, another thing that I will need to talk to Scott about.
