Caroline was filled with awe as she stood in front of the Adventurers Guild. The structure was massive, a fortress that stood proudly in the center of the city.
All kinds of races walked in and out of the guild, fearsome warriors who she aspired to be. All with their magnificent weapons and armor. She couldn't help but stare at everyone, despite the strange looks she received for doing so. The young girl couldn't help but fantasize about the adventures she would partake in. The idea of glory and well-earned riches filled her mind as she was revered as a hero of Valor.
All Coraline needed to do to be a step closer to her dream was to go through those large doors. But she couldn't. Difesa and Victoria had left in search of help for Difesa's little problem. His helmet was stuck on him, and Coraline had to wait until they removed it. So she was there at the doors of the Adventurers Guild, with Old Man Difesa and a dead bear.
There were so many adventurers around them. Coraline wanted to meet someone new now that home was miles away. So many opportunities, and so many fantastic outcomes. The young squire was just as excited as a child surrounded by sweets.
Some of the adventurers she saw practiced their craft. They either dueled with each other or simply trained alone.
Coraline looked upon her weapon, a short spear that she received from Difesa. He offered Coraline to teach her how to use it. Once more, she glanced over to the adventurers and noticed one of them had a spear as well. She examined the fighter with a curious eye. The way they moved was very fluid and smooth, the swings were simple yet there was a technique she did not understand.
It was like a performance, the spearman reminded Coraline of an expert dancer.
She tried to mimic the spearman, but when her spear shot forward it flew out of her flimsy grip. Coraline panicked as it went flying straight toward Old Man Difesa, but luckily it only bounced off the stone block he sat on. Embarrassed by the little mistake, Coraline picked the spear off the ground and glanced over her shoulder. People saw, and now her face was a bit red.
That was such a humiliating thing to happen.
Coraline watched the spearman carefully. Slowly, she followed their steps. She couldn't catch up with the trained warrior, as they performed many battle stances.
"Straighten your arm, kid." Coraline froze. She looked over to Old Man Difesa as he had just spoken. Though his eyes were closed and he wasn't even facing her, Difesa's grandfather had given her some advice. "When you thrust that spear forward, keep your arm straight. And bend your knees a bit, you need to keep yourself centered. Losing balance is a good way to die quicker."
"Oh, thanks, Old Man."
"No problem, kid. I'd hate to see you go under, so you better listen to my grandson if you know what's good for you."
"Wait, you can hear me?"
He chuckled. "I ain't deaf! I just don't listen much, everything you kids are up to ain't my business. And you can just call me Gramps."
"Oh, alright!" She beamed up. "Also, sorry about the spear earlier, it slipped out of my hand."
"What spear?" One eye popped open, and confusion was shown.
"Nothing. Anyway! Can you also train me? Having two teachers would be good for me!"
"Your eagerness and energy are something I envy." He smiled. "But my teaching days are over. These bones ain't like they used to. Listen, I think it'd be better if my grandson comes back before you start doing any fancy tricks with that there spear. Might poke your own eye out."
Her face turned even redder. "Oh, yeah! I should, honestly. But I'm kinda bored waiting for them."
"Those two are taking a little too long if you ask me. All you need to get a helmet off you is a pair of pliers! Back then, my pal Shamus got his helm stuck on him after taking a heavy hammer to the head! Had to insert my sword between the metal and his face, then shimmied the damn thing off him!"
"Your pal? Wait, maybe I should talk to people instead of waiting!" Coraline said. "You alright here, gramps?"
"I'm fine on my own! If I could fight six wars in my lifetime, I can sit here waiting for you kids!"
With him being fine on his own, Coraline set off to meet someone new. There were so many groups, all different from the first until the last. Some were intimidating, while others looked easy to approach. Yet she kept Difesa's wisdom in mind. They were all strangers, that was true. Her trust shouldn't be given so freely or else it'd be used with ill will. Everything is always black and white, the good and the bad. But what mattered the most was leaving a good impression.
"Greetings, fellow warriors!" She walked up to the closest group and gave her best introduction. "I am Coraline, it is a pleasant day to make your acquaintance!"
They stared at her and said nothing. Their emotionless eyes bore through her like a drill. Disturbed by their strange silence, Coraline inched away and retreated somewhere far from them. Hopefully, the next group wouldn't be so weird.
"Hello there, I'm Coraline!" She greeted another bunch of adventurers.
"Hi!" One of them greeted back. "Can't talk sadly, we have a quest to finish!"
And just as quick as it started, their conversation, or lack thereof, had ended as soon as the stranger spoke.
"Having a little fun there, newbie?"
Coraline was caught by surprise as a large man loomed over her. This man hid his identity in a large hooded robe with a beastly wooden mask. He was a giant of a man, taller than anyone she knew. And despite being covered head to toe, it was clear that this man was built like a Greek god. In his left hand was a book, while the other held a large battle axe. The interesting part of the weapon was the gem placed at the head.
"Oh, hi there! Woah, you're really big!" She was filled with wonder as she basked in all his glory. The man was clearly a seasoned warrior who had seen more battles than she could count. "I'm Coraline, it is so nice to meet you!"
"Nice to meet you too, Coraline. I am Sebastian, the Magnificent. Seems to me that you're looking for something, or waiting."
"Well, I'm waiting for my teacher and his friend so that they can register me to the guild."
"I see, well I hope that they come by soon, the registry will be closed after lunch."
"Why is that? Wouldn't it be better if it's always open?"
He chuckled. "It was that way, I was told. But with so many quests flooding in, the guild master had to create a schedule for everything. She herself manages the front desk for all those who are interested in signing up as well as receiving and approving any quests."
"I see, she sure has a lot of work now that I think of it."
Sebastian gave his goodbye as he was needed by his party. The young girl was alone once more. But before she could go on and meet more of her fellow adventurers, Victoria and Difesa finally returned. The former was strangely out of breath as if she ran from afar. As for Difesa, it seemed like he was free from his prison, yet he kept the metal helmet on.
Difesa sighed. "Alright, sorry we were late! Victoria and I got caught up with some stuff in the Sky District."
"Y-yeah…" Victoria muttered with a slight blush. "Blast was being greedy, and wouldn't give me my damn runes."
"Who's Blast?"
"The guy Victoria buys her runes from, duh!" Difesa chuckled. "But the guy really wanted to hike up the prices. Well, now that we're here, let's go inside!"
"Time to meet Vivi, just don't embarrass us." Victoria said as she retrieved Difesa's grandfather and the bear she slayed.
"Who is Vivi?"
Chapter 2: The Adventurers Guild
The doors opened, and the group entered with confidence in their stride. Especially the two veterans ahead of Coraline. They walked with purpose and carried themselves in a way that she couldn't mimic. There was no time to try and copy their movement, so the young squire focused at what was in front of her. And what Coraline discovered that day was something she had not expected.
The guild hall is a massive place where hundreds of adventurers gather for food, drinks, and quests. It was odd at first, there was too much room. Coraline could barely see the ceiling. But she understood why it was built that way.
There in the center was the desk, and behind it was a massive dragon. Scales red as fire, and eyes that rivaled the pureness of gold. Coraline had not avoided this beast's attention. It stared at her specifically for a full minute as Difesa led the group over to the desk.
"Vyrloss!" He greeted the dragon.
"Difesa and Victoria," She cooed. "I see the hunt was to your satisfaction. But, I am far more curious about the little lamb you've brought to me. Before you sate my curiosity, let us proceed with your reward."
As if she had commanded it through telepathy, a kobold rushed over to them with a chest. Coraline watched as this little creature brought out a single gold coin. Victoria simply traded the bear for it, a delighted grin on her face as she claimed the reward.
"Now, are you going to introduce your friend, Difesa?"
"This is Coraline, my squire. I would like to register her to the guild, please!"
"You're Vyrloss!" Coraline finally spoke as she had been silent ever since she entered the guild. "Vyrloss, Lady of Greed!"
"Ah, this one likes to read, does it?" Vyrloss was amused. "What stories have you heard of? Or better yet, what book taught you about my grand beauty?"
"The First Reign of Chaos." Coraline answered.
The dragon scoffed. "A history book, I am saddened that you did not read my biography. Well, we have a business to attend to, and I must approve the newly received quests."
Another kobold arrived and placed a sheet of paper on the desk. Vyrloss placed a large cylinder on her eye and stared down at her desk. It seemed to be an eye loupe, a giant one. The dragon inspected the document before she nodded to the kobold.
"Difesa, you've done this before so I will leave the explanation to you. Please do not forget every last detail."
"Will do, Vivi!"
Victoria sighed. "Finally, let's get a table and some lunch!"
The group would find themselves somewhere secluded and far from the other adventurers. On the way to their table, some of Difesa's and Victoria's peers greeted them. Coraline had seen Sebastian as well, even that strange silent group who still continued to stare at the young girl.
The spot was strangely peaceful despite the rowdy warriors in the mess hall. Difesa had decided to fill in the paperwork for Coraline, and it wasn't long before he was done. She was honestly surprised to see how well-written it was. He had her height, weight, and other details correct. She would've asked how, but there wasn't any point to it. All she had to do now was sign it and write her name.
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Coraline Isabelle Alina Gladius. That was her name. Quite a mouthful but that was what her parents had decided on.
But before she could even start to write, Difesa had tapped her shoulder. "You should take my last name."
"What, why?"
"Also, shorten the name to just Coraline, you don't want to catch the attention of another Gladius."
"What do you mean? I don't think I've seen any of my family."
"There are more than you believed, both our families are pretty big. That means you gotta be careful with who you talk to."
It was foolish of her to believe that she wouldn't meet any of her relatives. Especially when her cousin was a knight as well, just like Difesa. Elizabeth Gladius, the current head of the family. She was a woman Coraline needed to avoid the most.
Once done, Coraline simply needed to go and submit the paper to the guild master, Vyrloss. It was a quick walk back to the desk, and the process was faster than Coraline had thought.
"Congratulations, Miss Difesa! You are officially a member of the Adventurers Guild! Since you have only started, your rank is silver, and you cannot hold any titles. There would be a fee of a hundred gold coins, but you are a squire of a royal knight, which means your registration is free. Thank you again, Coraline Difesa, the Rookie!"
"The Rookie?"
Coraline received an identification card with a silver line on it. This was how they kept track of their adventurers. Despite being a simple card made of plastic, the item was imbued with magic. She should talk to Difesa and inquire about the card.
"Woah, I wish I knew being a squire had this kind of benefit!" Someone said.
Coraline turned on her heel and realized someone was behind her.
A short girl was there, a mage it would seem. It was evident that this girl was one thanks to the large staff in her hands. She wore an unreasonably big hat and quite a pretty robe. Bright too. Everything the mage wore was pink, which was adorable in Coraline's opinion. The only different color she wore was a white wimple, a cloth that covered her whole head except her face.
"Hi, I'm Lucinda, also a Rookie. Don't need to introduce yourself, Coraline. It's just so nice to meet a fellow newbie, especially after I had thought I was the only one."
"You and I are the only ones?" This surprised Coraline.
"There was another guy, but I haven't seen him since he submitted his paper. A total of three, but this honestly feels like just us two."
"Wait, so you have to pay for registering?"
Lucinda sighed tiredly. "Yeah, I was hoping that joining the Adventurers Guild would help with my school debt, but didn't realize that there was a fee. Now I have two different debts to worry about."
"Oh, that sounds tough. I am lucky to have Difesa with me or else this dream of mine would be a nightmare."
"Aren't you Difesa?" Lucinda was confused.
"He's my master, Difesa is going to teach me everything he knows so that I can be a great adventurer just like those before me!"
"It is strange that you call him by his last name. Is he a relative of yours?"
Coraline hesitated. "Y-yeah, he's my cousin."
"Sorry to intrude, but are you interested in forming a party? I am quite the magic whiz."
"I'm kinda already in a party with Victoria and Difesa, my friends. Wait, maybe they wouldn't mind you joining. Come on, let's go and ask."
"Wonderful!"
The two rookies walked back to the table. Coraline was met with an alluring aroma as her eyes found themselves locked upon a feast. They had just returned in time as kobolds dressed as chefs placed all kinds of food on the table. Beef, pork, chicken, and even some meat that Coraline was unfamiliar with was presented to everyone.
Not to mention the drinks. Just looking at them made Coraline's throat feel dry.
Difesa had kindly waited for Coraline, but his grandfather and Victoria had already attacked the food the moment the kobolds passed it to them. They were like savages. Victoria gave her meal no mercy as she tore through it just as viciously as she fought.
"So you're officially one of us! Congratulations, Coraline!" Difesa said. "Say, who's your friend?"
"Oh, this is Lucinda, she's new just like me!"
"How about that, welcome to Vyrloss' big money scheme! I'm just kidding, congrats to you as well. Join us, this feast shall be in honor of both of you!"
Lucinda thanked him for the offer and sat down quickly after. Coraline joined them and indulged herself with the mountain of food on the table.
"Hey, Difesa?"
"Yes, Coraline?" He answered from behind the pile.
"Lucinda doesn't have a party, so I was hoping that maybe she could join us on quests!"
There was a moment of silence, Coraline was unsure if he was thinking or eating, perhaps both.
Though Coraline couldn't see it, it seemed like Difesa had looked over at Victoria. The lizardwoman stopped as she glanced over to Difesa's side. Quite difficult to see thanks to the pile of food. Now that Coraline thought of it, why was there a ridiculous amount of food on the table? Though it was evident that the old man and Victoria could devour all of this on their own.
"We ain't accepting." Victoria declared.
"But why not?" Difesa had not given a yes or no, he simply inquired for Victoria's reason.
"Listen, D, bad enough that we have to watch over Coraline, and adding another person to keep an eye on is just gonna slow us down."
"I can take care of myself!" Lucinda claimed. "I'll have you all know that I graduated top of my class at Stormbane College! My teachers even sent a letter to Whitefall's most prestigious school of magic! And I've been accepted, just to let you know."
"Wait, then why aren't you heading East?" Difesa asked.
Lucinda shrank. Despite her achievements, there was an issue she couldn't surpass. "I still need to pay my college debt or else the headmaster of Stormbane won't give me my acceptance letter."
"This sounds like extortion," Victoria commented.
"Please, I just need to earn gold and I don't think I can do this alone."
Victoria grinned at the pitiful girl. "I'll say, you don't seem to be the fighting type. Scrawny and physically weak. I bet you that even Coraline here could beat you in a normal fight!"
"Victoria, that's just rude!" Difesa scolded.
"It's true!"
Coraline had enough. She stood up and glared into Victoria's eyes defiantly. "All the more reason to help her out! Lucinda, are you actually weak without your magic?"
The mage looked away in shame. "I just didn't find the time to exercise with all the studying."
"Difesa, maybe she can train with me!" Coraline suggested. "You don't have to teach her how to fight, just help her grow to be an adventurer like you and Victoria."
Difesa was silent, she couldn't tell what his expression was as he hid behind the pile of assorted food.
The knight shuffled a bit, then he stood up to meet Coraline's gaze. His expression was still hidden, but it was thanks to his signature helmet at that time.
"You know, I like the idea." Both Lucinda and Coraline looked at each other, they shared similar smiles. "Coraline, you chose a shield to protect yourself, but starting today you will use it to protect Lucinda as well."
"Oh thank you!" Lucinda stood up and bowed to Difesa. "I will not disappoint, I promise that!"
Victoria scoffed. "I expected that you'd listen to me, but I should've known you'd do what you want."
Lucinda straightened her back as a realization came to mind. "Oh, where is my head? I have not properly introduced myself! I am Lucinda Astra, it is a pleasure to meet you all!"
Difesa chuckled loudly. "Nice to meet you! That grumpy lizard over there is Victoria, and the old man is my grandfather. Just call me Difesa."
"No first name?"
"Oh, my name is-"
"Alright!" Victoria slammed her mug down. It was empty, unlike her plate. "Enough of this little chat, we need to get a quest. And I really dislike how you ignored me Difesa. You go take these two to the bulletin board and look for an easy one. Remember, these two are still fresh from the oven."
"Oh, right! We better hurry, or else all the decent ones are taken!"
"But I'm not done yet!" Coraline said. But Difesa ignored her as he took Lucinda and her for a trip to the quest board.
It was located close to the desk where Vyrloss worked. A dozen or so kobolds ran about the main hall with stacks of paper. Some went straight to the bulletin board just to post a quest, only for an adventurer to rip it off the moment it was placed. Seemed like it was a common occurrence, and these kobolds performed their tasks like a well-oiled machine. The little creatures barely bothered anyone as they zoomed all over the place.
Coraline and Lucinda found themselves in front of a massive wall of paper, thousands upon thousands of quests were posted all over the bulletin board. Coraline started to doubt that there was even a board, it seemed like the kobolds simply placed the quests on the wall and were satisfied with their work.
The rookies stared at the scene, both lost in the sea of words.
Difesa swiped a quest from the board, and very quickly as well. Another adventurer wanted the quest but was too slow.
"Alright! This is simple enough, the guild needs someone to deliver some medicine to a small village. This will give us ample time to train you both. Coraline with her combat skills, and Lucinda with her stamina training."
The three returned to their table, and Coraline returned to her meal, only to discover that half of her plate was empty. She sent an accusing glare at the only people who could've stolen a portion of her food.
Once lunch was done, the party of four and the senior citizen departed for their quest.
And for the second time this day, Coraline was forced to follow the wagon on foot. This time she wasn't alone in her suffering. Lucinda was with her along the way, and it seemed that the mage was in a far worse state than Coraline. Especially when one of them wore a dress and a pair of heels.
Victoria was sitting at the back end of the wagon with Gramps, and as the two rookies followed, their senior adventurer teased them along the way.
"What's wrong? Can't keep up?" Victoria tried not to show them her sadistic smile. "Come on you two, the old man can do better with his eyes closed!"
"That's unfair, his eyes are always closed!"
"And, Lucinda? That just means the old man is leagues away from you. If you want to aspire to be anyone, then aspire to be some wrinkly old guy sitting on a wagon."
"I think that's enough cardio!" Difesa said. "Victoria, open the back so the two can just run in!"
"Aw, come on! I was starting to enjoy their suffering." Reluctantly, Victoria reached down to the door and did as she was told.
Difesa pulled on the reins and slowed the wagon just enough for the two rookies to climb aboard. For a moment they struggled to even get inside. Once they got on, the two collapsed against the floor.
"Hey, I thought you had loads of weapons in here?" Coraline said between breaths.
Victoria leaned down from her seat. "Difesa has a magic storage room built in this carriage, and don't bother, the door is soul locked. I tried."
"Wait, if there's so much room in here, then why did we sleep outside? A bug crawled on my face!"
"Because," Victoria sighed. "His shop, his rules. Besides, Difesa slept on the roof."
"Well, I don't want to sleep outside anymore! And I think Lucinda doesn't want to either!"
"That's right!" Lucinda said. "You can't possibly think that I'd sleep on the dirty ground!"
"This is what I don't like about you city girls." The lizardwoman scoffed. "Listen, you either sleep outside or you don't sleep at all! And don't make me come in there, because I'll make you worry about something else!"
"That's unfair!"
"Lucinda, life isn't fair." Victoria pulled herself back up. "I thought you understood that with your situation."
"That's just normal for people like me, and sleeping on the side of the road is for peasants." Lucinda huffed as she crossed her arms.
"Yeah, whatever floats your boat."
"Come on Lucinda, we should just take a break. I'm very thirsty after all that running." Coraline helped Lucinda to her feet. "Hey Difesa, do you have anything to drink here!?"
A top hatch opened and Difesa revealed himself. "There are cups in the bottom corner cabinet."
Though Difesa was a merchant, that much was known to Coraline, the carriage wasn't what she had first expected. If anything, it was like a kitchen complete with all necessities. She even tested out the sink which revealed that there was indeed working plumbing.
Without any more hesitation, Coraline was quick with a couple of cups and brought some water to her party member.
"Ah, rejuvenating!" Lucinda said with a satisfied and goofy smile.
"You said it, somehow I don't feel so dry on the inside anymore." Coraline felt the same as Lucinda. "All that running took a lot out of me, I almost felt like dying out there."
"You and me both, I'm lucky that my hat helped a little with the heat."
"Actually," Coraline shot her with a suspicious glance. "Why are you wearing such a big hat?"
"Honestly? I have no idea. Most of my seniors back at college wore all these goofy big hats. I figured that I should just do so as well." It looked like Lucinda was embarrassed by the story.
"If you don't mind me asking; What was your school like? Amazing, I hope!"
"Nothing really to brag about, but everything was honestly the best! The teachers are very patient, even with the troublemakers. The classes are fun and very intriguing. Best of all, I got to learn all sorts of magic!"
Lucinda proceeded to cast a spell.
"Light"
And just like that, Coraline was nearly blinded by Lucinda's magic. An orb of pure light upon her palm. The young squire reached out to it and felt its warmth.
"It… it's amazing!" Coraline stared at it despite the brightness. "Could you teach me how to do that?"
Lucinda shook her hand and the orb vanished. "Well, it is a novice evocation spell, even a fool would be able to perform something so trivial."
"Alright!" Coraline hopped with excitement. "I can't wait to do magic!"
"Though… I don't really sense any potential in you, so don't get your hopes up."
The wagon soon came to a stop. The group took a break from the long ride to stretch their legs. And with it, Coraline's training with Difesa began.
As Victoria readied some dinner for everyone, Lucinda and Gramps both watched the two spar with each other.
Difesa lectured his squire as they clashed blades, but the knight held back to allow Coraline to learn. Every small mistake could lead to death. It was a slow start, but Coraline managed well with Difesa's training.
"Keep that shield up."
She could not block in time as Difesa struck her arm with the flat side of his broken sword.
"Watch the shoulders, not just the weapon."
The sword was too fast for her to react in time.
"Sometimes the enemy will play dirty or use all the tricks they know. That's why you must be aware of their possible moves."
He said as he shoved her with his shield.
"You're ugly."
"W-what?"
Difesa landed a soft poke on the nose of her helm with his finger.
"Don't get distracted, your enemy will use words to try and mislead you. If anything, simply use it as fuel to your rage and fight on with great spite. That's how many barbarians survive."
"Oh, alright!"
"I'm gonna eat your innards."
"Huh!?"
He kicked her feet from under her, which forced Coraline to fall to the dirt.
"What did I say?"
"That… I shouldn't get distracted."
Difesa nodded. "That's right. Now," He pulled Coraline up to her feet. "You are a very beautiful gal."
Coraline's face flushed. "I am? Oh my-" She stepped away from his attack at the last second. "Hey! Don't just give me compliments like that! I'm easily flustered."
"Coraline, weren't you listening?" Lucinda cast a tired glare at the squire.
"I'm sorry, okay!? It's just, I didn't exactly train all my life. Only recently started."
Difesa shook his head. "Which is honestly disappointing. You're the first Difesa I met that didn't train since childhood."
It seemed that Difesa wanted to stick to the story he made for her. Coraline was not sure if he wanted her to believe it, or simply to keep Lucinda in the dark.
Either way, Coraline knew this was also a way for Difesa to understand her.
"It isn't my fault, alright? My parents didn't want me to end up being a barbaric warmongering psycho. Their words, not mine." This was also a possible way for Coraline to learn more about him along with the other Difesa.
Difesa sighed. "Yeah, your family doesn't really see eye to eye with the rest. And I don't want to toot my own horn, but I started training when I was eight."
"That young? I find it hard to believe."
Lucinda coughed into his fist. "To be fair, as soon as I could read properly, my parents started teaching me magic. Honestly, my childhood was mostly spent on books."
The old man simply chuckled.
The two continued their training, Difesa gave out some tips and taught her a few tricks. He reminded her that she needed to keep an eye on the stances as they could telegraph his next move.
"Hey, Victoria!" Difesa looked away, and Coraline thought she had a chance. Sadly he deflected the spear with his shield. "What are you cooking!?"
"A couple of rabbits I caught earlier, I'm making some stew!"
"Will it be enough for all of us!? You and Gramps eat a lot!"
"I've already eaten enough to last me a week! Not sure about the old man though!"
Difesa didn't even need to look as he parried Coraline's short spear. "Gramps, you should really be mindful about your food. If anything, you're definitely eating too much."
His grandfather scoffed.
"Hey, Coraline, you have not beaten me despite having my focus elsewhere."
"You're just leagues ahead of me! I can't even land a single hit!" Coraline thought that she could kick Difesa's leg and break his balance, but she soon regretted it as she felt a sharp sting on her shin.
Difesa remained unfazed. "Well, that is true. Practice the stances, move fast and smoothly."
Difesa left Coraline to practice her combat skill and went over to Victoria to help out.
Coraline shuffled her feet as she swung her weapon around. Unlike before, Difesa managed to hammer the stances into her head. So Coraline was better at it, yet still an amateur in battle. Unlike the sword or a dagger, her short spear had more room to hold on to. If she wanted some reach, she needed only to hold the other end, but if she wanted a stronger attack, her hand was close to the blade. It wasn't as powerful as a spear, not even as long as one. Still, a weapon was dangerous, especially in the hands of a high-ranking adventurer.
A step closer to her dream, and a step closer to an amazing future.
