Chapter 4 Drug Deal
Min-Soo watched the skyscrapers in the distance. Their car was driving out of the city into one of the suburbs of Seoul. The buildings in the suburb were just flats. His master and Jin-ho stayed all the way silent. While he watched the new flats of the suburb, he noticed how the sky became cloudy and he guessed that it will rain soon. He sighed, he didn’t like rain and now of all times it had to come.
The car left the highway and entered a smaller street with some trees on both sides. Min-Soo observed the street but couldn’t find anything that would look like a place for drugs. While he was observing the car turned again right and entered an underground car park. So, they would trade the drugs down here. It was the better choice. His master turned around and said: “We reached our destination. Remember don’t speak or do anything without my permission.” Min-Soo nodded. The car stopped at the number 26 in one of the last park lines. Everything became quiet and he waited for the instructions of his master. Jin-ho turned to his master and had a short discussion about their plans and then said: “Min-Soo you go with me, Jin-Tae will speak to them.” Min-Soo nodded again and then followed Jin-ho out of the car.
The car park was quiet while they walked about 20 meters to a black Toyota. When they stopped in front of the car, the door opened, and two people greeted them. “Jin-Tae it is a pleasure to see you here. How are you doing?” His master bowed in front of this man and replied ”Good day mister Kang. I hope you are well?” The guy called Kang smiled and said: “Yes I am fine, but more important who is that fat pig beside Jin-ho?” Min-Soo defiantly heard an mocking tone in the voice of Kang. Jin-Tae waved his hand and said: “Forget about him, he belongs to me and is under my security. More importantly how will the deal today go?” Kang shrugged with his shoulders and then said: “They have harassed my men and they paid the price. Now we will forget the past and make a deal together for our will of peace. That’s all of it.” Jin-Tae looked a long time at Kang until he said: “Be aware, that I represent your boss at the moment and your boss doesn’t want more attention than needed.” When Jin-Tae had finished his sentence, everyone could hear bikes and a few moments later the first bikes entered the car park.
Those guys were tall and tattooed everywhere. They numbered up to five guys and their bikes looked quite cool. The bikes had golden, green and red patterns and some even had dragons and monsters on their gas tanks. Kang turned around and faced the bikers. When they stood face to face, Jin-Tae started to speak: “As everyone knows. We are here to keep the peace in this drug deal. We represent no gang and so we are neutral.” One biker walked out of their group and nodded respectfully towards his master then he faced Kang. Even my untrained eyes could see that the biker hadn’t a friendly attitude toward Kang. “Mr. Kang we the ‘Falcon biker gang’ acknowledge your offer for peace between us. We hope for a good relationship.” Kang nodded and then replied: “Good to hear. Now let’s go to the business, shall we?” The biker nodded and then they started to discuss about some prices. After 10 minutes the tall biker whistled and one of his colleagues brought a bag with him. Min-Soo saw lots of money inside the back and was shocked. Never in his whole life had he seen that amount of money. Never! Kang nodded at the biker and made a sign with his finger to a man behind him. The man brought three heavy suitcases. The man opened the suitcase and presented it towards the biker. That tall and tattooed guy looked at Kang and then examined the content of the suitcase. A moment later he nodded, and the man gave the suitcases to some of the bikers. Meanwhile the bag with the money was handed over and Kang nodded satisfied. Both the biker and Kang looked a short moment at each other and then left in different directions.
His master came back to him and said: “Did you see that Min-Soo. The underworld can be peaceful if you follow some certain rules. Remember this day it can help you in the future.” Min-Soo just nodded. He didn’t know how this shit should help him in the future but he didn’t want to have discussion with his master. They entered the car and drove out of the car park. Min-Soo saw how Kang also entered his car and at this moment he saw him grinning wickedly. He didn’t know why this guy grinned like this, but it sent some chills his back down when he saw it. They left the car park and saw the bikers who first left, driving the street down. When they were around 200 meters away from them, he heard a big explosion. A giant fireball engulfed all of the bikers and turned them into ashes.

Min-Soo was shocked. Why did the bikes explode? While he was still in shock, his master shouted out: “That bastard Kang. He never wanted peace, he just wanted to trap them. That fucking asshole. I skin this bastard.” If Jin-ho hadn’t stopped his master from leaving the car and running towards the car of Kang, then there would be more dead people.
Jin-ho drove them far away from the incident and stopped the car at some random street. His master still furious and cursing took his phone out and made a call. “Hello, yes its me. Yes, I’m calling because of the deal. Yeah it failed. Kang has taken some actions to smash the bikers. Yes, the bikers are now without a proper leader. Yeah, I know. Thank you, sir, and have a good day.” He hung up and took a deep breath. “Min-Soo I hope you have also learned a lesson out of this? This mess. Never trust anyone, never! Now let’s go back. I need some tea and we have to talk.” He said something to Jin-ho, and they drove back to the house.
His master went into a room and said he didn’t want to get disturbed. Min-Soo went into the living room and watched some tv. The news already told about the incident and spoke of a gang war which was now breaking out. Some police officers made a statement to the suspects of the incident and said they would not rest until the city was save again. It was the same shit as always. When the news ended, and a cartoon started his master came out. He said: “Min-Soo, I have thought about your training and I decided now something. First, it is not good now to stay with us here. For a rookie like you our jobs are too dangerous, and your body isn’t trained yet. So, firstly we need to train your body and bring you back into the shape of a human. You can’t look like a fat pig. So, I decided to send you to my old friend Ki-nam on Jeju. You will fly tomorrow.” Min-Soo was a bit confused. Why should he go to Jeju and who was that guy called Ki-nam? Jin-ho turned his head towards Min-Soo and said: “Jin-Tae is right. You can’t stay with us for now. Those biker guys will now start a war and we were involved in that incident, so they will target us. But don’t worry we will eat today together and tomorrow you fly to Jeju. No problem at all. When you are finished with your training you can come back to us.” Min-Soo realized for the first time that they were concerned about him and that made him feel good. It was the first time in his life that somebody cared about him like this. He nodded and agreed.
When the evening was arriving, they went into a small restaurant. He was treated to meat and noodles and he really enjoyed it. He smiled a lot and even joked a bit with Jin-ho. Finally, after a long night with jokes and lots of good food they went home and he fell asleep.
Early in the morning, the sun was still under the horizon, when Jin-ho woke him up. He had to shower and wanted to change into his suit but was stopped by Jin-ho. “You don’t need to wear the suit. Just take these clothes instead.” Jin-ho handed him some slim black and grey clothes with golden buttons. He locked at them and then changed into the new set of clothes. After a short breakfast and no words with his master he had to leave. Jin-ho prepared the car in front of the door but before Min-Soo could enter the car, his master told him to wait a moment. He took a small dagger out. The dagger was around 15 centimetres long and was placed into a wooden sheath. He gave it to Min-Soo and told him: “This is my gift for you. Use it well in your training.” With that he turned around and left. Min-Soo didn’t know what to do with this dagger and put it in his pants. He entered the car and Jin-ho drove them to a small airport. It was not the big international airport but another small one, for private planes and such things. Min-Soo didn’t expect this and wondered who their pilot would be.
After a short walk to one of the hangars. They arrived at the hangar 11. Inside of the hangar was a small red plane. Two other persons entered his view. One was the pilot and the other one was some kind of sportsman. He greeted to those two and entered the plane. When he was inside of the plane, they handed him a heavy bag and told him to wear it. He didn’t know why he had to wear such a big bad, but he trusted those guys.
The flight started and after a few hours and a short stop they finally saw Jeju. A small green Island in the south of Korea. It looked beautiful from above. On the island was even a mountain which was dominating the whole landscapes. When they were not far from the island, the pilot suddenly said: “Now guys. It’s time. We have arrived.” Min-Soo didn’t know what he meant but it became instantly clear when the sportsman opened the door and said to him: “Ok boy. Remember this count to 20 and then open the parachute with this rope. One strong pull and it will open. Now jump!” Never had he felt this much fear in his life. He started to shiver and didn’t inch even a centimetre from his position. He heard how the sportsman sighed and then a strong force throwed him out of the airplane. He screamed and then started to count.
