Prologue
Floating in the infinite void, is a planet. This planet is known by many names, and is a land filled with magic. The collective power of its inhabitants’ souls flows through it, leading to wondrous landscapes filled with myriad peoples, and diverse ecosystems of beasts and monsters and the devastating wrath of nature. The young and small look up to the old and mighty, hoping to reach the heights of existence the rare few manage to stumble onto.
This is the tale of one such child, hoping to grow into one of the great legends of the world, and perhaps, one day, they may even achieve that dream. But first, in the primordial existence of Before, the soon to be child consolidates their being, the shape and location of their soul beginning to take form. Will it be in the vast tundras of the Frozen Kingdoms, a land of tradition and Fire, where the human kingdoms war with both each other, as well as the Elemental beings of Water and Cryo? Or will it be in the Yormel Jungle, as one of the half human, half Storm Hawk Yorma, living together with nature, their Druids some of the most powerful in all the lands? Within the volcanic wastes of the Fire Islands? The grand cities of the Northern Subcontinent? In the depths of the Endless Sea? Or even in the Empire of the Everlasting?

All of these prospective locations would vastly shape the life of any person born there, not even mentioning what they would be born as, who they would be born to, or even what magics they would inherently possess.
And so, before the shifting mass of potential, of proto-soul energy, there are six paths. The first has the feeling of a cold, damp, claustrophobic space. The second is blisteringly hot, with a vast sky, and a hunger deep within. The third calls out with a seductive whisper, promising much with no guarantees of delivery. The fourth is a quiet glade, out in nature, with rain on the horizon. The fifth is the cold of metal, and the surety of one’s own skills. And finally, the sixth has the soft sound of singing, of a community acting in concert.
Down which path do they travel, and what form do they choose for themself for the life to come?
