Yukio went home and plopped himself down on his bed. Today was an eventful one. He was able to befriend Miyamoto Kunihito and Koga Makoto, the heir of the Miyamoto house and his loyal servant. Yukio felt at ease with them, as he was not particularly close with anyone else since he stopped seeing Chisato, Ayaka, and Kaede back then.
As for them, Chisato was as kind and cheerful as ever. He missed her and sometimes wished he didn’t do that back then. Losing Chisato was like losing his sun, his light. He found her treating him the same way as back then is comforting, but he made his mind to properly apologize to her later. The bad blood between Kaede and Ayaka which was caused by him indirectly, made him scratching his head as to how to approach the two. Kaede was sitting next to her in class and bore no hostility so far, but right now if he ever said something that sounded like a support to Ayaka, Kaede would definitely cut him off.
Meanwhile, Ayaka felt like a final boss in this quest of reconciliation. She would not hold back from getting physical if necessary. Back then, she just slapped him. Just today, she was considering slapping Kaede too. He began to wonder had something happened to her that molded her personality to be like that. Nonetheless, he decided that the best course of actions right now is to gather more support first to show that he is serious. Starting with Chisato.
“Chi-chan...I hope you will forgive me, for making you wait this long.”
He got up and prepared to shower.

In the Sanada house, Chisato was having dinner alone with her mother, Chizuru. Her father were working outside the city, so he mostly went back once every two weeks or a month. Her mother looked happy today, maybe she was able to score that meat sale at the supermarket, which was their dinner tonight.

“Chisato dear, how was your school today? Already setting your choice on any extracurricular?”
Chizuru gave a usual question from a parent to a child, but the second question was a serious one that she had been contemplating for months now.
“Well, of course, I want to continue playing football, Mom. I am still unsure whether to take that tryout from a pro team or just play in the regular high school club.”
“Whichever you pick, mama will support you. Papa too. Which is why he is working hard even though he has to be away from us. We want you to know we are behind you all the way.”
“Thanks Mom.”
Chisato genuinely felt grateful to have such supportive parents. They at first were surprised when she suddenly wanted to play football back in middle school. She had been an outdoor child, but playing football? It was not popular among girls. The reason for that is simple; to find Yukio.
Yukio used to play football; a prodigy at that, but she never saw him until a week ago. She wanted to know what he had been doing after their separation, but she didn’t think to ask that yet. She looked at Yukio’s old picture which she had been keeping on her phone. She could feel her heart beating harder with every second passed. She wondered how come she still had feelings for the boy who confessed to someone else and when she wanted to comfort him, he pushed her down with anger on his face.
“Stupid Yuki-chan...”
She recalled how she ran and never looked back. Immediately sprinting to her room and lying down like she was doing now. She was overwhelmed by mixed emotions, and for someone like Chisato who wore her hearts on her sleeve, that was difficult to maintain. She called him stupid but hated him? No way. Chisato always loved Yukio. Ever since she was captivated by his innocent smile after winning a football game and celebrating with her.
“I wonder if now I have a chance to be with him...”
Chisato kept procrastinating until her eyelids felt heavy and fell to a deep slumber.
