A couple of days after that night they shared, the princesses set off to the south kingdom. Felix shared a moment with them before their departure. Their mother could tell that there was something different about them and prayed for their happiness. With the princesses gone Felix split his time between his family and his training. He didn't have to worry about Alicia thankfully, since she spent most of her time reading in the castle’s library. Around this time Elena started to meet up with the other officials and advisers to discuss the upcoming war.
“ Right now, it's clear that Sylvania is intent on conquering all the kingdoms and this entire country. These attacks with the demon beasts were clearly meant to to take out me and those in power.”- Elena
“ It could also had been a means to gauge our strength. Since we managed to repel them, they're not intent on going full out on us just yet.”- official 1
“ Don't forget that it's because that witch bore the bulk of the attack, so the only reason they would be cautious is because she's here.”- Nathan
“ True, but it also helped that your family was here as well. Especially your grandson, who also holds that witch's power.”- official 2
“ Either way, we need to take advantage of the time this brought us to enforce are military and gather our allies.”- official 3
“ He's right, the princesses have already left to assist the the south kingdom. If we combine with the north, then we might be able to put up some--”- official 1
“ I believe your all forgetting one important detail. Sylvania, the other kingdoms, this war, all this pales in comparison to the immediate threat that's within our walls, Alicia Rand Philistine. I've personally seen the power this woman holds. It's indeed as the legends described. Power that destroys kingdoms and alters the very laws of nature, it's absolutely terrifying. We're only lucky that it's currently sealed by Felix. But if we don't take care of her soon, whether we go to war or not won't matter.”- Elena
“ Glad to see you understand the situation. I always admire women who aren't total airheads. You truly are a wise queen."
“ Wha” “Who” “How” “ Alicia Rand Philistine”
“ So what are you all doing here? Trying to decide how to deal with me before I lay waste to the world? Or are you all too afraid of my magic to do anything at all? I swear, your queen has more backbone than most of your knights, while most of you would probably give ‘ that’ up and that would be the end of it.
“ How dare you! Who are you to talk that way in front of us? Do you think a brat like you can do whatever the heck you want here?”- official 2
“ What was that?”- Alicia
“ geh.”
“ I was at war with the world long before any of you were born. To me, you all are nothing more than children in my eyes.”- Alicia
T-That is true, but this is a matter of honor here.”- official 2
“ Whatever, let's put that aside for now. I didn't come all this way to see the queen. I came all this way to see Nathan.”- Alicia
“ And what is it you want with me.”- Nathan
“ That brat Felix, I want you to hand him over to me.”- Alicia
“ You plan on taking him on a journey? For what purpose? I won't be convinced with just that.”- Nathan
“ Very well, it's not like it'll matter if you know. My magi knights, it's a journey to find them.”- Alicia
“ What! You mean the legendary followers of the goddess of magic 1000 years ago? The ones who were said to be able to level an entire city with a wave of their hand?”
“ That's right. They were beings that were capable of holding a vast amount of magical power. Each on them; elf, dwarf, bestial, and terran, were the most powerful of the race and each specialized in a certain type of magic. For their loyalty, I blessed them with the immortal seal, making it so that they would have eternal youth for as long as I lived. So that means they should still be alive, since the only way for them to die to be if they were defeated in battle or if they took their own lives. It's more than likely the latter since the only one that could beat them would be me. Living that long could be quite a burden after all. Either way, I intend to find them and bring them back to my side. I'd like to have your assistance in this Nathan. Of course, could simply just take him by force, but I'd leave that for you to decide.”
Nathan was clearly at an impasse. On one point he clearly didn't trust Alicia with his grandson for obvious reasons, but on the other hand, he didn't think making her an enemy would do him any good. They already had an enemy whose strength was unknown to them, if they added Alicia and the remainder of her followers, they wouldn't have a chance. There had to be a way to get something out of this without risking all their lives.
“ Very well, I will allow it.”- Nathan
“ Ah hahahaha, nice of you to see things my way.”- Alicia
“ Not so fast. He can go with you, but certain conditions must be met.”- Nathan
Afterwards, Alicia walked through the hallway trying to locate Felix. Her search paid off after the tremor of weapons clashing.
“ I must say Reyna, your abilities have greatly improved. It seems that battle with those demons was a good learning experience for you.”- Felix
“ Indeed it was, but still doesn't mean much when you're still able to fight me so easily. Still though, I've finally managed to get a good measure of my strength. I still can't stand toe- to-toe with that Alicia though.”- Reyna
“ Don't beat yourself up now. That witch is in a classification of her own. We're fortunate she can't use her power right now.”- Felix
“ Of course not, it's being used to kill you. I'm amazed that you've managed to keep your sanity in check.”
“ It's not like freaking out is going to do me any good. Besides, it's not like this seal gonna kill me right this minute. As far as I'm concerned, I've got plenty of time to figure out what to do with that witch. Meanwhile, you're going to have to figure out how to actually beat me for once.”
“ You are so full of yourself.”
“ And yet you fell for me anyway.”
Felix got close and kissed Reyna. She reciprocated those feelings By rapping her arms around him. After a while, they separated and continued to stare at each other.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
“ Enjoying the sideshow.”- Felix
“ I only got here around the’ take care of witch’ part. Honestly, I'm disappointed with you Felix. Talking behind my back.”- Alicia
Alicia finally managed to find Felix, but she didn't want to stop his training. So she decided to wait till they finished. Needless to say, she probably heard everything.
“ Well, I can see you all have a lot to talk about. And I'm just about finished my workout so--.”- Reyna
“ C'mon Reyna, you don't have to leave just for someone like her.”- Felix
( Someone like who now?) -Alicia
“ No, I think it's best if I leave you two to talk. Till next time Felix.”- Reyna
With that, Reyna left Felix to fend for himself against Alicia.
“ Playboy”- Alicia
“What was that?”- Felix
“ I'm just amazed you can attract girls like her even though you have kids. I'm equally amazed that girl would still go after you even knowing you have kids.”- Alicia
“ Really? Your criticising me? The woman who stringed along so many men who could fill up half a small continent?”
“ Hey! Don't paint a bad picture of me! I'll have you know I have standards. I can't help it if I turned every head my way. I'm just irresistible.”
“ Clearly not like that since you've yet to woo me.”
“ Please, if anything you're an anomaly. Honestly though, I don't expect a kid to understand the charm of a gorgeous woman.”
“ Or I'm just not attracted to old grannys.”
“ Forget it. I won't stick my head in your business anymore. It really doesn't matter to me if you spend some time with her because you won't be seeing her anyway.”
“ And just what does that mean? Do choose your words carefully.”
“ I'm just saying you'll be gone for a while. In a few days, you'll be coming along with me on a journey. A journey to find the magi knights.”
“.......”
BANG
Two minutes went by before there was a massive crater where Alicia was. Even though she was prepared for an outburst, she still fell to the ground and was sweating bullets.
“ I'm sorry, I don't think I heard you correctly. It sounded like I'll be going on a journey with you. I was so surprised that I actually slipped.”- Felix
“( How can you form a crater with a slip?) Your hearing is hardly the issue. I meant exactly what I said. And before you get any urges, please keep in mind that I got the approval from your grandfather and the queen to bring you along.”- Alicia
“ What! And how did you manage to pull that off?”
“ Simple, I struck a deal. I promised to take care of Sylvania in exchange. As of right now, the east kingdom is incapable of providing of defending themselves, much less talking on the west, even with your family. Not to mention with the use of demons they practically have a near endless army. That's where I come in, as insurance. I collect my knights, and my first order of business will be to eliminate Sylvania. Those mages will clearly be a nuisance to me if I leave them be anyway. So it would be better for me if I just eliminate them before they can be.”
“ And then when you're done with them, you'll set your sights on this kingdom and the others, correct?”
“ Hmm? Well…….. that will depend on your performance on this journey.”
With that, Alicia departed with a meaningful smirk on her face, leaving for Felix to contemplate everything he'd been told. Not long after that, he found his grandfather to discuss the circumstances with him.
“ I'm not annoyed that you came to this decision, I'm annoyed that you didn't even bother to run this by me first before you came to a decision!”
“ Felix, please calm down. It's not like Miss Philistine was giving me the option of time.”
“ Yeah well you didn't try buy any time to see what I thought! You didn't even run this past my own parents! I can't even begin to imagine what my mother felt after she heard this!”
“ You were lucky. That woman looked like she was going take my head off, Maria too. Your father may have been holding them back, but it looked like he was debating to just let them do it. Thankfully, the queen was there to play medium.”
You should have kept her with you. Because your situation isn't any safer with me here. I'd also like to hear why she agreed to this.”
“ She didn't want to Felix, she really didn't. She was actually more surprised that I agreed to this considering I'm your grandfather. But as the way things are, we don't have the luxury to be selfish. War is coming, and we need every trump card we can get.
“ That women isn't even a trump card, she's a wild card. Even with the seal in place, she's too dangerous to be left to her own devices.”
“ That's exactly why I can only ask you to do this Felix. Not only because you have her power sealed, but also because you're the only one that can handle her. Despite not having our family's battleforce, you've proven that you are a force to be reckoned with. Most important of all, you've proven that you have amazing observation skills and can make careful decisions. I can think of no other who can do this task except you.”
Felix could see the logic in his grandfather's decision. Currently they didn't know Alicia's true intentions and if she would keep her word. Staying close to her was more or less a double edged sword. Either way, it was also a golden opportunity for him to outsider and get some answers. Felix couldn't find anymore information on his brother in this country. So the only way to get more info was to go outside the kingdom. So even if the chance came with a migraine, he would still seize it. With that, Felix reluctantly agreed to his grandfather's wish. Afterwards he left his chamber to contemplate how all this. So much so, that he almost didn’t notice Reyna walking up to him.
“Oh hey Reyna, you won’t believe--”
Felix didn’t have time to finish as Reyna grabbed him by the arm and dragged him back to her room. As he got his bearings, Reyna locked the door behind them.
“Geez Reyna, you don’t have to be so forward.”
I heard from your parents. They told me you’ll be heading out with that witch to go on a journey for the queen.”
“Wow, news travels fast even in this world.”
Felix could see that Reyna was trembling, so he tried to ease the tension. She finally got over it, and put a look of determination on her face. She slowly started making her way over to him.
“I take it this means that it will be quite a long time before we see each other.”- Reyna
“Sure looks that way.”- Felix
“I didn’t think you would be put in a situation like this. If it was an option, I’d be more than happy to tag along with you.”
“As lovely as that would be, I don’t think that’s an option. With both of us gone, the kingdom would be more vulnerable than it already is. Amari and the others may have gifts, but they’re still to young and inexperienced to be going out there and its to big a burden to leave just to my parents and grandfather. My siblings and those kids are going to need a guiding hand to lead them through the perils yet to come and I’m certain you can handle it.”
“Glad you have such great faith in me.”
“Don’t forget who trained you. I know exactly what your capable of.”
“And with that option closed, I’d like to propose a different one.”
“Which is?”
“I’d like for you to do what you did for the princesses. I’ve known you've already did it with them and others and I don’t care. Your going to be gone for a long time and I’d rather there not be any regrets between us during this time.”
“So instead of me comforting you, its you comforting me? Well better late than never.”
“Just get over here smart aleck.”
With that, another night of love making began. Though Felix was her first, she was surprisingly skilled, which lead to them both being exhausted. A few days later with ample preparation and some shedding tears felix was ready to begin his journey. He was met by the queen on his way out the chamber.
“It’s interesting. I’d never thought I’d be seeing another one off like this. Certainly not one so young.”
“Just think of it as a women sending off his man off on a journey.”
“Sure you don’t mean a date.”
“More like a deathtrap.”
“I’m sorry to be depending on you like this Felix. This something we should be handling not a young boy like you.”
“Hey, I’d do it even if you didn’t ask me to. I made the bed now I got to sleep in it. Besides, you’ve got enough on your plate to worry about already. Speaking of which, here's a special charm I made for you to wear while I’m gone.”
“Thank you Felix, I know it will be a good comfort.”
“Great. (Of course it will. The animated armor contained within that thing wasn’t easy to make you know.)”
With enough said, Felix gave Elena a light kiss then proceeded to head out to the courtyard.
(Alright world, show me whatever you’ve got, and i'll show you what i've got.)
