Chapter 0: ALL_THAT_REMAINS. ?? / ?? / ????

A thousand people formed a circle around an opening in the ground. A golden light shone from within, and a presence could be felt by those surrounding the dark purple dunes.

As expected.

Extravagant chairs didn't support them, they transcended a need for such conveniences." The thousand men and women, mentally linked, created the voice of a leader from their collective thoughts. As their inner desires began to fluctuate, molding into the one perfect voice, the 「 Meeting of Titans 」began.

“As you all know, we’re here to talk about the Collective Act. It will be initiated on Earth, a world similar to ours with humans that differ slightly from how we once were. On a physical level, they do appear to be the dominant species on Earth. They gather knowledge about their surroundings, advancing themselves as a society. Yet, conflict still exists. The tension of where a man is from or what their skin color is pushes them to act aggressive, and kill their fellow man.”

A voice enters the collective from nowhere.

‘Why?’, the voice speaks.

“Every version of humanity itself exists to work and progress. Yet, so many on Earth find luxury in simply being. Not average, bad, or good. . . They simply exist. Among the humans, there are weak links. We must utilize them, and strengthen our collective. There is no room for weakness in life. We will better them.”

‘—Why?’, it speaks once more.

“For all intents and purposes, progression will be the only thing that will last in these worlds. Through singularity, they can only achieve so much. That is why they will join us. They’ve progressed far enough. It is time for them to join a great cause.”

‘—No.’

A firm tone of anger emerged from the collective.

“You. . . you disagree? We are one.. Our lives are better because of it. We will be able to progress even beyond the eternity that we have already found! Why do you disagree? You are the very planet itself. Why do you refuse this chance to-”

The link became fragile, as the connection of the men and women turned into a weak thread. A cough emerged from one man, and, with a breath outwards. . .

“We will meet again. Hopefully, Daedalus will agree with us in time.”

The collective men and women stood up, offering a singular bow to the center before turning and walking off.

Despite what they had been saying, Daedalus had known all about their intents. It didn’t matter what it said at this point. The Earth of the humans was doomed to face the Collective Crisis that caused this planet of lush life and singularity to become tainted. For some reason, the planet did not agree with with the idea of this perfect zen. Everyone that had been lost during this attempt to forge the perfect planet. . . It would bring a tear to the planet’s eyes if it had eyes.

. . . If it had eyes.

The planet’s vision fell upon the Earth, utilizing the multiversal link that was forged to absorb all these planets, and it began it’s final hurrah. It’s collective consciousness would meld, turning into a singularity who embodied the imperfect ideals of the past into a singular, pure being.

Lights around the compound began to flicker off. Technology and lights were turned off.

It had one last moment to undo what had been done. . .

The cries of several people running towards the golden opening became louder.

One shot for freedom.

With that, a golden beam shot out from the side, shooting into the glass window that made the Earth visible to them. The ray of light that met with it caused it to shatter into thousands of pieces, and the consciousness of Daedalus was no more, along with the link that they’d need to approach Earth.
