Orson activated his skill a large metal floating shield appeared in front of him, with spikes attached to it. Orson could not only summon this shield but he could move it around at will. He could use the shield to block incoming attacks, and he could use it to slam into the enemy causing great damage, a powerful defensive and offensive skill. That's not all he also activated his artifact, a small mirror-looking thing, which caused another shield to appear in front of him. The artifact could duplicate a skill. He moved his two shields to block Oscar. And moved in front of Oscar, Orson's squad following him.
Krey pulled out a dagger from the sheath of her waist. Then she activated her first skill, attaching a puppet master, resembling a clown overhead of Welsh, and dashed towards him along with her squad. Their plan, simple, Orson distracts Oscar while Krey distracts Welsh. Their squads blocking any pests in the way. They intended to outlast the time, but also bait attacks at the domain controller to make the enemy weary and weaken their ability to attack. Well, that’s part of their plan, Krey saved her artifact for a better moment to use it.
In the meantime Orson threw a shield toward Oscar, he easily swatted it off with his large spear. Orson intended to probe his enemy to bait out any skills, or tricks. Their squads were fighting in the background. Neither squad had any room to interfere in the fight between the two for now but who knew how long that would last? Orson pulled back the first shield using it to now shield him and threw the other shield. Oscar easily swatted that one too, Orson noticed he swung it a bit further without putting any more effort into the swing. Carefully observing the spear he could see it got the slightest bit smaller, maybe increasing by the size of a hair, he only noticed after observing it, anyone less skilled might not have even noticed. The spear must be related to his skill or some sort of artifact. It's getting bigger, and with that stronger, but how? Is it related to it hitting the shields or maybe it's an overtime skill? Whatever it is he will get stronger with time or attacks. I have to fight more defensively then.
Orson made a good judgment call, Oscar's skill allowed him to get stronger the more times he blocked an enemy attack, increasing in size was an undesired side-effect from his personality. If he blocks with his weapon that will increase in size, but if he blocks with his body that will increase instead. But either way, his power will increase, even he doesn’t know if there's a limit to how powerful he can get, but after the fight the effect reverts.
Orson pushed both of his shields around Oscar and had them circle him, keeping them right out of range of his attacks. While he didn’t know if he could attack him he still needed to keep him occupied, otherwise, he could wreak havoc on unsuspecting allies. Oscar stared at the rotating shields with curiosity, he reared back his spear, took aim and with all of his might threw the spear into one of the shields.
Orson, shocked, jumped back a little, He threw away his weapon? The spear collided with the shield with great force launching the shield backward at astonishing speed until it collided with the domain barrier about 100 feet away finally bringing it to a halt. The shield almost sounded as it whimpered as it smashed into the wall. The shields movement took Ash, and a hundred feet would take some time to retrieve. Orson would be down a shield for a few seconds, but Oscar should be down his spear now's the time to attack.
Orson focused his Ash concentration on the shield still in play and with as much power as he could muster in a short amount of time launched it toward Oscar. Oscar curled up into a ball and spun his body as if he was doing a front flip and smashed the incoming shield with his fluke tail throwing it downward into the Abyss below only stopping once again once smashed into the domain barrier maybe fifty feet below. Now down both his shields Oscar lifted his fluke and slammed it into the water, launching him toward Orson only then activating his second ability loyalty, pulling his weapon towards him. With the utmost speed.
Damn this is dangerous, he played me good, he waited to recall his weapon until I was wide open! Just then, Orson's second ability activated too, stopping Oscar in his tracks, his second ability only activated when Orson couldn’t really control this ability and it only activated when he got irritated normally when Krey kept pestering him over and over, but the skill was strong no doubt about it, it froze anyone in a ten feet radius for three seconds and removing their ability to speak for fifteen seconds. Orson had gotten upset at his own stupidity during the fight, he should’ve fought more carefully, Oscar, Welsh’s right-hand man is his opponent, and yet he got overconfident.
While the skill did give Orson three seconds to do whatever he wished against his opponent, a major drawback reduced this time, to activate the skill he needed to get irritated and once he got irritated he couldn’t think straight for a couple seconds, giving him a realistic time of about one second to utilize his skill. In this one second, he got his first flung shield back and nearly got the other one. The shield had a divot and cracks spreading from it from where the shield had struck it. He could repair it, but he had no time or extra Ash to spare. He could start to feel faint hints of his side effect, and he couldn’t afford for it to go off now.
Oscar got unfroze and tried to say what the hell, but no words came out. Instead of worrying about it he smiled and tightened his grip on his spear. Getting frozen did surprise him, but considering how his opponent didn’t take full advantage of the extremely powerful move, he knew he would win the fight; it would only be a matter of time. Unfortunately, he didn’t have time to spare. It had already been about a minute since the fighting had started, that gave him four minutes at most to defeat the shieldman in front of him. Ha, plenty of time BRING IT ON!

Orson had made some distance and recovered both of his shields, the second also showed some small cracks but not as bad as the first. Once he lost a shield that would be it, he couldn’t summon a second as that power belonged to the artifact and it had a cooldown of twenty-four hours. He pushed the less damaged shield forward, with the more damaged one behind it and slightly to the right. That way if Oscar tries to attack the one in front he could use it to block the attack, and then use the one from behind to attack. However, if he attacks the one from behind he could use the front one to block the incoming attack. The problem with this strategy, he wouldn’t have a shield near him to block an attack. Luckily he did have a trident in hand for a reason. He could use it fairly well, in fact against most opponents his shield merely becomes a helping hand as he does the real work with his weapon. However, he could tell against this opponent he wouldn’t last long like that. Orson was a Simion, like Aton, so when it came to a close-range battle, Oscar would have many advantages with his powerful body. His fluke and head could be used as great striking weapons, not only that, he could use his fluke for defense, and his scales would enhance his natural defense by themselves.
Basically fighting like that would be a last resort. He monitored Oscar, he reared back his spear once more. Not this time. Orson jumped into action, rapidly moving his shield to overlap each other, the second part of his plan. After feeling the shock of the attack he could gauge how much strength Oscar had to put into those throws. And while not guaranteed he might be able to stop the spear in its tracks with both shields combined, without them getting flung back. Oscar through his spear once more into the overlapping shields.
Orson focused all of his concentration on the defensive capabilities of his shields, and then the spear collided with the shield. The pressure on his mind grew immensely he could feel pains all over his body as he tried to keep the shields together and prevent them from getting flung backward. The spear, still slamming them with immense force, the shields started to inch back, but then it happened the front shield shattered its bits disintegrating into ash, and the spear stopped once it broke and started to sink. The shield behind it charged immediately as if Orson knew this would be the outcome. Oscar didn’t have much time to react, he brought up his fluke to block the attack but didn’t have much time to activate his Ash defenses. The shield with only light cracks rammed into Oscar's tail, the spikes piercing into his flesh causing blood to drop out.
Orson had planned this move, when he moved the shields to overlap, he secretly moved the more damaged shield in front rather than behind. He knew even with both of the shields combined he could only hold on for a few seconds before they went flying, but that would be more than enough time for the more damaged shield to break. Leaving a perfect opening for the second shield to hit the opponent. While the attack did get somewhat blocked it hadn’t been a good enough block for Oscar's ability to activate, and while it didn’t do considerable damage it did injure his fluke, one of his strongest natural weapons and shield. Not to mention this should slow him down even if it's only by a little.
Though the attack took its toll on Orson as well, it took a lot of Ash to pull off and while he could channel Ash very well, it would be taking its toll soon, while Oscar hasn’t used much Ash at all. His skills were extremely effective both very powerful but didn’t use much Ash. About two minutes have passed now, could he really last for another three minutes against this powerful opponent? Not to mention in the background he could see his squad slowly starting to lose their grip on their battle too. No, I have to last, if I don’t what will happen to my already struggling squad they will be torn to pieces before they can even realize it.
His resolve peaked once more, it wasn’t a matter of if he had to last three more minutes for the sake of his team and Krey's team. He pulled his shield off the fluke of Oscar. Oscar paused Orson could see something in his eyes, Orson feared that it was anger, but after closer inspection, he realized that couldn’t be further from the truth, he had a look of admiration and respect for Orson. Orson flung his shield back into Oscar, he had been surprised to see that look but it didn’t matter this wasn’t some gentleman's duel, they were fighting a battle of life and death. Oscar's thoughts were similar, he genuinely had respect and admiration for Orson, for dealing him damage, but they were still enemies regardless. His spear once again returned to his hand. He had summoned it right as it fell this time and it had made its way back; he easily swatted off the shield this time. Since he had only now retrieved his spear he didn’t have any time for a windup so the blow hadn’t been too great, only pushing it away slightly, but he grow slightly larger and slightly stronger in the process.
Orson pulled the shield towards him, in its condition, it would only survive one or two more hits, the small cracks had turned into much larger cracks crawling all over the shield. He decided to put some of his Ash into repairing the shield, while he fought Oscar head-on. After some consideration, he decided to fight the exact way he previously thought not to. He decided this for a few reasons, for starters Oscar would get stronger the longer they fought so he wanted to fight him as earlier as possible, two he now has an injury which would make it slightly easy, three it should give him some element of surprise attack him head-on like this before he had to, and lastly, he would have time to repair the shield buying himself more time in the long run. Oscar warmly accepted the change of tides and with his voice retired he yelled in excitement.
“You wish to fight me head-on, Haha your much braver than I thought, let our battle go down in history!” With that, he charged at Orson, Orson’s shield at a safe distance but close enough to hopefully distract Oscar. His large spear clashed against Orsons much smaller trident in comparison. The shock rattled the bones in Orson's body, his entire insides getting stirred up. His nose started to leak blood all from one attack.
