chapter 4

here is chapter 4. i had some trouble deciding where i wanted to go with this story so this chapter whas pretty hard and confusing to write but i hope it turned out okay

----------------------------------------

When Akame left he kept on running for a few minutes until he found a poorly guarded inn, he quickly entered through a window before finally calming down. the first thing he did was checking the content of the ring, in it he found some expensive looking clothes, a money pouch, some old opened letters and some other things.

inside the pouch there were more than a thousand purple coins!!! a purple coin was worth a 100 gold coins which was worth a 100 silver coins which was worth a 100 copper coins. a single one of those was enough to cover the expenses of a family of five for few years. With this he wouldn't need to worry about money for a long time.

Akame then read the letters because well.... why not, it's not like he had anything better to do, he had to wait till tomorrow to leave the city.

The letters were the private communications between Elder Brenton and Elder Marks, as he was reading a creepy smile appeared on his face before he began to laugh hysterically. "HAHAHA so that's how it was? That explains so many things HAHAHAHA good good, it seems my to-do list just got longer HAHAHAHAHA."

The next morning Akame took a shower before strolling in the city. He first went to the bank to convert some purple coins into gold and silver, he couldn’t pay everything with purple coins, that was just asking to be robbed. He then went to the market and found a small clothes shop where he bought a cheap set of clothes, he couldn’t go on wearing his slave clothes and he couldn’t wear the expensive clothes that were inside the ring because he couldn’t risk damaging them, he still needed them later for his plan to work.

He then went to the east door of the city, and looked for a caravan, it took a hour for the first one to arrive.

“Hey mister, where is this caravan headed?” Akame asked one of the men that were guarding the caravan. “We’re going to the blue wind kingdom for trade. Why, do you want to join us kid?” replied the guard

“Yes, I need to get to wake city and I don’t want to go alone, there are too many bandits on the roads.”Akame said. “Then you should go ask the merchant at the head of the caravan, I am only one of the mercenaries he hired so I have no say in this”

Akame then went to the head of the caravan and talked to the merchant, he was pretty hard to convince and Akame had to pay the man a few gold coins but managed to join the caravan and leave the city.

The caravan got attacked a few times along the way but the mercenaries easily dealt with them, most of them were already in the profound realm so they were several times stronger than Akame, if he had gone alone he probably would have died several times already. He of course made sure to discreetly drain all the corpses of their blood before the caravan continued her trip.

. . . . . . .

At that time in the mansion of the Brenton all the elders were reunited in the same room and all had a very serious expression. “So the kid wasn’t as useless as we thought huh?” one of them asked. “Apparently not, for his manapool to get so much stronger there are only 2 possibilities, the first one is that he must have had extremely good luck and found quite a few heavenly treasures which is impossible because he never left the city and these kind of treasures take a few centuries to grow so there is no way anything would remain hidden this long in a city this big. So the only possibility is that he indeed has an enigmatic ability, and quite a useful one at that.” Another replied.

“Where is he now”  asked Elder Brenton.

“He managed to kill one of the assassins and then made him unrecognisable before tainting his hair red and used him as a decoy, before escaping, I send a few people to look for him discreetly but nothing important has been found yet, but we did get a report that a boy with auburn hair and crimson eyes was seen in one of the shops near the east city door so he most likely already left the city.” Replied the intendant.

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

“Find him, i don’t care where he is or who he is with, I want him to be found and brought back here, we can’t let someone as talented as him get away”

. . . . . . . . . . . .

The trip continued for several weeks before they finally arrived at Wake city. It was hard for Akame to say goodbye to the people of the caravan, afterall they went through many things together. They got attacked by bandits several times and fought together, shed blood and tears together, they lauged together. It was the first time people treated him like an equal, like a human being so of course this had a big impact on him.

Of course Akame’s lack of skills was quickly noticed, so they shared some of their knowledge with him and since he was quite a fast learner he quickly got stronger. And since he had the opportunity to absorb the blood of all the bandits they killed along the way, and since they were several times stronger than him the mark needed only a few litters to strengthen his body.

Thanks to these two things he was able now able to fight off the bandits which of course made him very happy.

After he had parted ways with the people of the caravan he went to look for an inn, he booked a room for a few days in the inn that was the closest to the commercial district and immediately went out. It was the first time he could explore a city and go roam around without having to follow someone or call someone master or mistress. He felt happy, he felt good, he felt…he felt free.

While he was walking he noticed that there was an enormous amount of people in the streets today and since everyone was talking about the same thing the reason why quickly became obvious. Apparently the reason so many people came to wake city was to participate in the void hand  school selection tournament.

Apparently the black dragon school was the top school of the continent and they had opened branch-schools in every major city of the continent, they offered an ideal cultivation environment to all the students they accepted, and the really outstanding participants had the opportunity to go to the main school in bluefire city where they would receive precious cultivation recourses and cultivation techniques along with various battle skills, or at least that is what the rumors say.

And the void hand school was one of these branch schools. The tournament was starting in 10 days and was open to everyone but only the top 50 would be selected to enter the void hand school and to enter the black dragon school was even harder because you actually had to catch one of the elders attention to get selected, and it was so rare that the school had already spent a decade without selecting a student.

. . . . . . . . . . . .

The first thing he did was go to a restaurant and for the first time in his life he ate his fill. Many people take the small things in life as granted but to Akame who never got much to eat, let alone anything tasty, this meal was like a little piece of heaven. He then went back to the inn and started to cultivate using the green lotus technique he received from the mercenaries. It wasn’t a very good technique but it wasn’t bad either and frankly speaking it was better than nothing. He only had ten days to train before the tournament and he wasn’t going to waste any of them, if he was going to get revenge he would need strength, and the fastest way to get that strength was through a good school.

Ten days quickly went by and soon the time for the tournament arrived.
