*Hissss*
It gives one final hiss, as I kill the last remaining rat inside the basement
"Say hello to your lord and saviour cheesus when you meet him" saying a pun just to relieve some stress that accumulated
It was an arduous task taking me up to three hours to finish. I died two more times, first was when I got cornered by them and the other one was when I was fighting the huge leader type rat like the first one I met a few hours ago.
'I did level up four times so i guess it's worth it?'
I put six points to str and three points each to agi, vit, and dex, saving the rest for later
There was also the reward for completing the request when I submit it later in the guild, so I might level up again. I opened my status window and saw my Basic Human Necessity skill at level five now, giving me two new skills. The first one was Camp and the other was Disassemble. The first one explains itself, you could make a bon fire in places outside towns or in dungeons, while Disassemble lets you gather materials from dead monsters to sell or use.
"Maybe I should check the first giant rat if it’s still there" I went back to the corner where the barrels are but the dead rat corpses weren’t there anymore
With nothing left to do, I went back to the guild to submit the completion of the request. But before entering the guild building, my stomach rumbles and I saw my stamina bar going down fast with an icon of a water droplet and fruit besides it.
"Food...so I need food and water" looking at my stamina bar
It dropped by two points in a few seconds, so I rushed to the nearest food stall that I could find and bought two pieces of hard bread and a bottled water for 30 coppers.
"This food utterly sucks. It's cheap though, so I can't complain about the taste that much, but it still sucks"
After I finished eating the hard as a rock bread, I went inside the guild. I went to the same green haired man (?) who I registered the request before.
“Good afternoon, how may I help you sir?” he said while looking up to me
“I just did the ‘Rat Extermination’ request, and was wondering where I can get the rewards for it?”
“Oh, you could submit requests for lower ranks to any of the clerks in the front desk here. While higher ranking requests are to be submitted on the higher floors of the guild building”. He takes my request form to stamp it with a ‘For evaluation’
“As a reminder, we will give the reward. However, if the requester isn’t satisfied with your performance, we will fine you a percentage of the monetary reward of the request and be detaining you inside the guild building for some time” he takes out a pouch and hands it to me and I hear a *ding* sound.
I open my status window and saw that I leveled up, Basic Human Necessity is now at lvl 6, it also gave me another skill called First Aid.
“Also, where can I sell the materials I got from monsters?” I asked while taking the pouch
“You can sell it to the shops here inside the city. We also buy materials here at the guild building for 90% of the market price”
I thanked him and walk to the quest board once again to look for another request, there were three papers pinned to it.
‘Wolf pelt’
‘Peto Swine subjugation’
‘Venus fly trap sap’
The wolf pelt was ranked yellow while the peto swine and venus fly traps were brown
"I guess I'm taking all of these before someone else does"
I took all three of them and went back to the clerk
“Can I register more than one request?” I said while I put the papers in front of him.
“It depends on the ranks of the requests, but for lower ranks you can take up to four of them at a time”
“Then please register these three”
After he signed the papers, I walked back outside and checked which one I should do first. Wolf pelt and venus fly trap requires me to go outside of the city, while the peto swine is located to the south of Loam.
'Let's do something that isn't too dangerous first' needing a time to do something normal first before going into another fight, so I headed south first
Walking by the dirt road, a brown barn enters my vision. It had cows and sheep grazing near a pond ahead with a big red silo next to it. A person wearing blue overalls from the barn house sees me and approaches
“How can I help ya boy?” he asked while taking off his straw hat
“Excuse me, sir, I’m here for the Peto swine subjugation”
“Ah, for the pigs ya say? Are ya sure yer up to the task boy?” as he scrutinizes my appearance
'It's just capturing some pigs, what's there to inspect me for?' I thought
“Of course I can!” standing up straight
“Okay, better get to it then” he says as he walks away.
Tilting my head, confused at the man's dismissal
“Where can I find them then?”
He turns back and points towards the sky
“Ya better get a good ol' look. They might disappear if ya don’t pay any attention”
I looked up and saw that there were black things in the sky
Squinting my eyes to get a better look, I see that it was floating black pigs in the sky
Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird... It's a plane... It's! It's ! It's flying pigs!
Jaw dropping, I shouted at him
“How the hell am I gonna catch those things!”
The farmer continues on walking back without turning
“Ya’ll find away, don’t hurt em little buggers though”
I watched those flying things for a whole hour before some of them landed near the pond to drink. I jumped on one of them who was the closest to me.
*SQUEAL*
It got startled and started flying once again, carrying me in its back. But, before it got too high, I jumped off it.

“Fuck! Come down here!” I tried it again for a few more times before I went back to the farmer
“It’s impossible to catch those things without injuring it” I sighed
A rope then hits me square in the face and I turn towards the man with a questioning look
“Use yer noggin boy, it ain’t a decoration” as he began working again
With the rope in hand, I hide myself near the pond again waiting. When one landed near me, I jumped on it while tying the rope around it. It tried to fly again but I pulled it back down.
"You aren't getting away this time!" pulling with all my might
The pig squeals, trying to win our game of tug of war. My hands begin to feel numb after a minute and I had let go before I get dragged across the field. With the rope gone, I went back to the farmer to ask for more ropes to use.
This time I tied one end of the rope to a nearby tree and waited again. When a pig landed a few meters ahead of me, I bolted into action and tied it with the rope as fast as I could. The pig squealed loud and tried to fly, but it couldn’t go farther than the length of the rope.
“HAHAHA! One down, six more to go!” filled with excitement from my accomplishment I asked the farmer for more rope
Two hours later, there was a passel of Pigs lying on the ground exhausted from trying to escape
“Ya did it huh, good work boy” said the farmer as he smiles and pats my shoulder. Giving me a bottle of fresh milk to drink
“It was a piece of cake” I said while chugging down the refreshing drink
The farmer thanked me for my work and made sure to give the guild a heads up on the evaluation.
After leaving the farm, I went to the east entrance of the city before going outside. I asked the guard stationed there where to find the wolves and venus fly trap.
“Just go into the forest straight up a head. Wolves are frequently spotted there. Be careful not to get surrounded by them though, they usually travel in packs but there’s a few vagabonds here and there. As for the plant, there’s a marsh to the north of the city where you can find them” I thanked the guard and went to the forest in search of wolves
Five minutes of searching, I saw one of them. It was moving a long the trees and bushes, searching for something
'Baby steps, quick and quiet'
I tried to move closer to deliver a sneak attack but it perked it's ears up and looked towards my direction
*Grrrrrrrrrr* the wolf growls as it bares it fangs
Failing to be sneaky, I lunge with my dagger in hand.
*Grrrrrrrrrr* it doesn’t dodge but goes towards me.
It tried to bite my neck, but I swerve to the right, the bite went for my left shoulder instead. I stab at its body before it releases me. Fresh blood dripping down from my shoulders.
"Shit, I really need to learn how to dodge" getting ready for when it runs towards me again.
It dashes towards me but it didn’t bite. It instead tackles me to the ground. I fell back, as it tries to bite my face.
"NO!" I use both my hands to hold its neck back before it could take a bite
When it let up on biting me for a second, I delivered a solid punch to its head, knocking it to the side. Scrambling to get up, I rushed towards the wolf and tackled it to the ground, stabbing it a few times in the process.
*Whimper*
It struggles for a few seconds before lying still on the ground unmoving.
“Haa…” I breathe out a sigh of relief while looking at my HP bar at 64/100, stamina at 79/110.
I used my skill First Aid to heal myself for 20 points. I would’ve liked to heal it for more, but one use of it costs me 5 MP. I was only able to use it two times before waiting for ten minutes for my MP to go back to full.
"This game is intense" with no immediate threats around me, I used my skill Disassemble to get the wolf pelt and I also got one piece of wolf meat before the corpse disappeared
After getting it's materials I started walking again. A little more wary of my surroundings than before. Now that I knew it could kill me in a few bites.
"AWOOOOOO!" as i was walking forward for a few minutes, I heard a loud howl.
Hiding behind a tree and peering over at the other side, I saw a wolf three times as large as the first one with red and black fur. It looked menacing to say the least.
'Too dangerous, abort mission!'
Feeling danger, I moved away slowly, not wanting to get its attention.
A few minutes later, I found two more wolves. Before they notice me, I rush towards one of them. Kicking the side of its head, while I stab the other wolf in the eye.
*Whimper*
it whimpers after I took out my dagger from it's eye socket
I kept stabbing that I didn’t even notice the other wolf lunging at my back, biting my neck.
“AHHHHH!” I fell forward and rolled around the ground, trying to get the wolf off me
When that didn’t work I traced its face from behind me with my two hands, trying to feel for its eyes.
"Get off me!"
When I found both of its eyes, I jabbed at it with my middle and index fingers digging into them. The wolf lets go and squirms on the ground yelping.
I got up and checked my HP, seeing that it was at 29/100. So I cast First aid twice, bringing it back up to 49.
The other wolf gets up and circles behind me, while I follow its movement.
It then ran and tried to bite my leg, but I jumped high enough for the wolf to not get a bite and stomped on its body with both my feet.
I then stabbed it while I was on top
"Hah..."
After stabbing it for six times on its body and head, it yelps one last time and died. I turn my attention to the other wolf, as it was squirming on the ground, trying to move behind the trees.
"You aren't going anywhere"
I run towards it and rained upon him a flurry of stabs it until it died. A *ding* sound could be heard, indicating I leveled up. I then used Disassemble before anything could come at me and made my way back to the city.
I rested in near the fountain for fifteen minutes before doing the last one.
"How can anyone find this game to be fun?" I said while I was mentally exhausted
But, before I went to do the next request, I went to the market to buy some bottles for the sap.
"I guess two should be fine?"
With nothing else to do, I went to the north of the city to get some Venus fly trap sap.
The last request wasn’t that hard. I was a bit intimidated when I saw the huge venus fly trap eat a frog that jumped into its mouth. But, it didn’t go for the surrounding frogs that were near it. Therefore, I just cut it from the stem and opened its closed mouth to get some of its sap and put it in a water skin that I bought before going here.
"Now, THIS is a cake walk" glad that I didn't get to fight something this time
With the requests done, I went back to the guild and submitted them all, I got a total of 30 silver coins and leveled up three times, putting me at level 11. My Basic Human Necessity skill is now at lvl 10 giving me another two skills called Improvised Cooking and Inventory. Improvised Cooking lets me cook edible materials that I have with a huge chance that the dish that I cooked was a failure.
While Inventory was a great convenience to have. It says in the description that I could store up to thirty different materials inside a window by calling out ‘Inventory Open’ and ‘Inventory Close’ to close it. I tried it and a window with three rows and ten columns appeared in front of me, I stored the three wolf meat inside of it, only taking up 1 space in the window
‘So items stack when I put them in here’
I then focused on something else. I asked the green haired clerk something important.
“Excuse me, but how can I get a class?”
He points to the stairs leading up to the next floor
“Go up to the fourth floor, you'll see a few masters and experts who can guide you there to get a class. Though there are some out there who will give you a different class that can’t be acquired here” he said
After thanking the man. I went up to the fourth floor of the building. Looking around, It was filled with people trying to get a class. There’s a few where a large crowd had gathered around a few individuals.
“Form two lines for those who wish to train in the magical arts!” shouted a man wearing a black robe with silver linings.
The others copied what the black robed man said. Each making their own crowds to form a line in front of them. I look to the side and saw that there were few people here who had a few or even no one flocking them.
I went near one person who didn’t have a crowd or line in front of him. He didn't even have one person that's interested in what he had to offer
“Excuse me, but what class do you offer?”
The slim looking man then looks at me with his sharp piercing black eyes
“If you want a class that can shoot fireballs, cause the earth to tremble or be able to cut down your foe in half then this class isn’t for you” he then points to the flock of people on the other side of the room
“People choose what appears amazing to the naked eye , they don’t even bother listening to what I have to say” he looked sad and then he sighs before continuing
“This class focuses on preparation and knowledge to support your teammates before going into battle, no flashy moves or anything of the sort” he finished
I thought for a moment about what he had to offer
‘My friends would likely go for something like a mage or one who uses a sword or bow and being a support might not be that bad’ thinking how we can move along as a group
'And more importantly, I don't have to be in the front line when something happens!'
Fuck chivalry, chivalry is long dead and I ain't dying no more
After a minute of deliberation, i looked at the man again.
“I would like that class, please be my mentor”. The man then smiles after my declaration
“The names Mageiras Domum, but from today onwards you can call me teacher” A window then popped up in front of me.
Would you like to accept Mageiras Domum as your Main class instructor? Y/N? Warning: Once accepted, you cannot change your instructor for your Main Class
“Yes” then the window disappears.
“What’s this class called anyway” as I looked at him
His smile grew wider as he answers
“It’s called Cook”
