Betrayal.
I betrayed my brothers and sisters. The Godkin Wars were meant for us to establish dominance over one another, to reign as the one and only God of this realm, and finally, move on to a new one. Yet, I never cared for victory. This game was never one that I wanted anyone to claim victory in and when it seemed that there would be one, I drove my Kin to madness and used them to drive the war towards a draw. Death is all that matters. For the souls of this realm to go to another Gods realm upon death is unacceptable.
Victory had seemed impossible to me. My kin were as rigid as I am, their connection to me made them weaker, not stronger. They were unable to adapt, to evolve, the Godkin Wars were likely the first real adversity they faced after rising to power in their nations. When Luminious’s children fought mine, they were nearly annihilated. It was then, that I began to whisper in my childrens minds and guide them, alongside the world, towards ruin.

Betrayal.
I betrayed my children.
This time will be different. My child, you cannot be completely free from the weight of what you are, however, I can give you more freedom than most Godkin could ever enjoy. I will not be in contact with you. You can pursue your own ambitions, should you happen to win this contest, perish in it, or stop it from transpiring; it will all be by your will.
My son, you will be strong. I cannot make your body as powerful as my brothers and sisters could, but your mind will be among the brightest. Your mana will be immeasurable. The secrets of magic will bear themselves before you. My lore, the lore of death will be yours. Your power shall shape this world!
My son, forgive me, for what I intend to make you suffer. My son, forgive me when you call for guidance and are met with silence. My son, rise above adversity and make this world what you desire.
Though you will never hear it, I swear on my name, Cain, God of Death and Lord of the End; I love you.
