“Munyaaa”
After all these years, when I ride back the river of my memories, the first thing that comes to mind is that embarrassing voice. That was what came out of my mouth on my first day in this ’world’. Feeling some sort of discomfort on my back, I had turned to my side so as to once again go back to my dream paradise. But that small movement was all I for me to refuse the temptation of sleep.
The discomfort I felt was enough for my brain to register the discrepancies in the environment around me. You could call it a sudden rush of adrenaline or some sort of human instinct kicking in.
My body moved involuntarily as if it was being controlled by the threads of a puppet master. My head turned to my right, then to my left, and I again forced it to turn towards to my right. My eyes then drifted to the ground I was sitting on. I was hoping to find my cozy bed but instead, beneath me was a wide grassland with nothing but vast stretches of weeds surrounding me.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
Panic was the first reaction I had. My poor brain pathetically tried to come up with excuses and reasons. My head moved back and forth multiple times, nonstop. And all I saw was the endless grassland.
I, Kusakabe Soma, who was supposed to be in my warm comfy bed and covered in a fluffy blanket, suddenly woke with the feeling of despair.
The panic-stricken brain of mine continued on its own, as my hands moved to my face. A pretty hard pinch to my cheeks and violent shriek that came out of my mouth was the next action my brain had decided upon. I was hoping that this was a bad joke of a dream that would shatter into pieces.
And yet, my poor brain had to face an overwhelming defeat. Without a doubt, what was before my eyes was a cruel reality. A reality I had not even the simplest clue about. This is my story, a story of an earthling that was transported to a different world without any tutorial.
