The Chronicles of Eldoria – The Reign of the Immortal Men

In the chronicles of Eldoria, few tales are as mysterious and awe-inspiring as that of the Immortal Men, a race neither divine nor truly mortal, whose existence defies the natural order. They are the rulers of the Eternal Dominion, a kingdom untouched by time, where death is but a distant whisper and age holds no power.

Unlike the elves, who were granted longevity through their bond with nature, or the dwarves, who endure through their resilience, the Immortal Men were shaped by an ancient and forbidden magic, a power lost to the rest of the world. Their dominion stands apart, veiled in secrecy, its borders protected by the greatest warriors and sorcerers known to history.

The Birth of the Eternal Dominion

Long ago, before the rise of the great empires, a faction of mortal men sought to escape the cycle of life and death. Guided by their enigmatic king, Malakar the Undying, they ventured into the Ruins of Azrathis, an ancient and forgotten city rumored to hold the knowledge of gods.

It was there that they uncovered the Codex of Eternity, an artifact said to be crafted by the Titans of Balance, the celestial beings who had once overseen the war between Light and Darkness. The codex revealed the secrets of eternal life, but at a cost no mortal should bear.

• Malakar and his most loyal followers performed the Ritual of the Undying, binding their souls to the fabric of time itself.

• Their bodies ceased to age, their wounds healed with supernatural speed, and death became a distant threat.

• But in exchange, they became bound to their kingdom—unable to truly leave its lands without suffering excruciating pain and eventual madness.

Thus, the Eternal Dominion was born, a kingdom of warriors, scholars, and sorcerers who would never know the touch of time.

The Creation of the Veil and the Isolation of the Immortal Men

Despite their newfound power, the Immortal Men quickly realized the danger their existence posed to the world. Mortal rulers would covet their secrets, and envious gods might seek to destroy what was never meant to exist. War seemed inevitable.

To protect themselves, Malakar and his council enacted the greatest spell ever woven—a barrier of arcane energy known as the Veil.

• The Veil became an impenetrable shroud, concealing the Eternal Dominion from the eyes of the outside world.

• It severed the kingdom from the natural flow of time, ensuring its people would remain unchanged for eternity.

• Only those blessed by the Dominion's sorcery could pass through its borders without suffering dire consequences.

For centuries, the Veil has kept the Immortal Men hidden, turning their kingdom into a legend, spoken of only in hushed whispers. But not all within the Dominion agree with this isolation. Some believe the time has come for the Eternal Dominion to rise and claim its rightful place as rulers of Eldoria.

The Immortal Lords and Their Houses

The Eternal Dominion is ruled by the Council of Immortal Lords, each a master of war, magic, or governance. Though they do not age, they are not immune to ambition, and their power struggles have shaped the kingdom for centuries.

Malakar the Undying – The Eternal King

The first and greatest of the Immortal Men, Malakar still rules from his obsidian throne in the city of Azrathis.

• His wisdom spans over a thousand years, making him the most knowledgeable ruler in all of Eldoria.

• He wields the Blade of Eternity, a sword that absorbs the life force of those it strikes.

• Though revered, he is also feared, for his will is absolute, and his patience infinite.

House Solvaris – The Sunborn Knights

Founded by Lord Aldric Solvaris, this house is devoted to war and conquest, ensuring that no force in Eldoria dares challenge the Dominion.

• Their warriors are blessed with unmatched endurance, capable of fighting for days without rest.

• They wear enchanted golden plate armor, which heals itself and its wearer over time.

• House Solvaris believes that the Immortal Men should rule all of Eldoria, and some whisper of plans to expand beyond their borders.

House Noctis – The Keepers of Forbidden Knowledge

The scholars and sorcerers of the Dominion belong to House Noctis, founded by the mage-lord Malakar the Shadowed.

• They guard the Codex of Eternity, ensuring its secrets are never stolen or misused.

• House Noctis wields soul magic, able to bind, manipulate, and even sever spirits from the body.

• Some claim they have unlocked the secrets of resurrection, but at a terrible price.

House Veydris – The Shadow Blades

Masters of espionage, assassination, and silent warfare, House Veydris ensures that no enemy threatens the Dominion from within or beyond.

• Their assassins are immortal killers, their wounds healing faster than any blade can strike.

• They wield weapons forged in the void, capable of cutting through both flesh and spirit.

• House Veydris is feared even among the Immortal Lords, for their loyalty is to balance, not to any one ruler.

The Curse of the Immortals

Though their existence is one of strength and power, the Immortal Men are not without suffering. Their gift is also a curse, for eternity is a heavy burden.

• Those who grow weary of life cannot die, trapped in an existence they no longer desire.

• Some go mad, their minds unraveling after centuries of existence, leading to their exile in the Hall of Forgotten Souls, where they wander in endless despair.

• The Dominion's laws are absolute—any who attempt to undo their immortality are cast into the Void, their souls erased from existence.

Despite their might, the Immortal Men rarely interfere in the affairs of the mortal world, for their leaders fear that any disruption could lead to the secrets of their immortality being stolen or destroyed.

The Prophecy of the Fading Eternity

Ancient texts within House Noctis speak of a time when the immortality of the Dominion will begin to unravel.

• A mortal-born child will rise, possessing the power to break the bonds of eternity.

• The Codex of Eternity will fracture, unleashing chaos upon the kingdom.

• The Immortal Lords will be forced to choose—to accept their end or to embrace an even darker path to retain their power.

Some believe this prophecy is mere legend, but others whisper of strange signs, of cracks appearing in the once-perfect towers of Azrathis, of warriors who no longer heal as swiftly as they once did.

And deep within the chambers of House Noctis, hidden even from the Eternal King himself, the Codex of Eternity trembles, as if something—or someone—is calling to it from beyond time itself.

The Immortal Men are eternal, but eternity is not unbreakable.

And when the end of their dominion comes, all of Eldoria will bear witness.
