Chapter 2 - Childhood
----
Hey. It's Arukorstza. Just wanted to apologize and explain what happened. In addition to what will be happening.
I am very sorry for my sudden absence.
At the time I'd failed my game development course because I simply didn't have a computer capable of using the required software and was very upset. I took time away from most of my online endeavors mostly because I was simply far too depressed. I even stopped playing Dark Souls which is mind blowing for me.
I plan to start writing Chronicles of Creation Tale of the Elder Witch again in August of 2016. Though I will be scrapping everything I have so far. I hadn't spent the necessary time doing world building and building characters during my first rewrite. As a result I'd found myself doing world building mid chapter and simply wasn't happy with what I'd done. Which is part of why I stopped writing.
I unfortunately seem to have a tendency to rush when I'm excited about something and then regret it afterwards. So as an addition apology I am posting what I had completed of chapter 2. It's not much but, It's all I can really give you.
I have already started on something else which I don't intend to post until after I've started up Tale of the Elder Witch again. The reason for the large wait is because I intend to backlog chapters so that if this even happens again you, my readers, do not suffer much as a result of my problems.
The Chronicles of Creation - Tale of the Elder Witch Fiction page will be deleted and re-posted upon the restart of posting as there where complaints last time.

When Shushen and I turned eleven Hipria began allowing us to walk around town on our own. But only if we stuck together.
“Don’t wonder off with grownups you don’t know okay?” She gave each of us a stern glare while waving her finger.
“And stick together, I know mum. You’ve told us a whole bunch already!” Shushen exclaimed.
I’d guess he was fed up with it the fourth time Hipria repeated herself. I also doubted he was paying proper attention. That said, I probably didn’t seem to not be paying attention either. I was busy watching some beetles fight one another next to a puddle by the dirt road of our street. It was only a few feet away, but was distracting. Far more interesting than it should have been. Then again by this point I was ready to with the inadequate child act.
Strangely I was already feeling the effects of puberty. I could feel my emotions beginning to boil, it intensifies very slightly but very noticeably with each day. I have little doubt I’ll plunge into the irrationality of teens before long. To some extent I dread every passing day. One of the strange beetles flipped the other over with it horns. It then proceeded to clamp the flipped beetle in its pincers, crack open the shell, rip away the pieces and eat its innards. Horrific, but I’ve noticed that most small bugs here seem to either eat one another or eat the naturally growing fungus. It seems to spread everywhere, and grow over every surface if given enough time to spread its spawn.
This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.
Hipria repeated herself again, “I just want to make sure you two are listening. Look after your cousin Shushen. Pay attention to where you are. Don’t get lost, either of you. Remember to respect people and be nice to one another. Don’t wonder off with grownups you don’t know. And remember to stick together. I don’t want either of you getting lost. And if something happens find me. If you can’t find me go find Rixel at the southern gate house by blacksmith Gorduun’s Shop.”
I nodded to show that I was listening this time. The beetles had stopped fighting so I had no reason to buy time.
“We know already mum. Just let us go already, geez!” Shushen groaned, stamping his foot to emphasize his point.
“Okay, okay. I just wanted to make sure you were both listening and paying attention.” Hipria frowned.
Hipria turned to me and sighed, “Try to pay attention long enough to stay out of trouble Knife.”
I nodded mutely. I had to admit I would linger to long when I found something new. Everything was just so interesting and new. When we went to the shops with Hipria I got to see so many things from around the Under Kingdom. I wanted all of it. From the most useless of baubles to foods, armours, weapons, daily luxuries, furniture, trinkets and many other things. I ended up getting myself in in trouble more than a few times over the last year because of that. Once I was even accused of stealing... He was right though so I can’t blame him for getting mad. Thankfully the punishments for thieves aren’t horrible like getting my hands cut off or something. I just had to pay him back, and I did with the money I stole from the other stores. Of course, he didn’t need to know that…
“I’ll be good.” I replied with the resolve to not get caught. However my duteous and small smile seemed to make her worry even more.
“Let’s go!” Shushen who was honestly a bit thick suddenly burst out excitedly. He then proceeded to latch onto my arm and drag me away.
I gave in quickly and ran with Shushen to the market district of the small border city ‘Nis Fae Halfinane’. The city was named after some idiot that thought making a city near the surface was a good idea. It really wasn’t. During the War of Light and Darkness in which the creature of the upper world battled those of the underworld. This city was a frontline battlefield and was in face only reclaimed 329 years ago when the Dwarf Halgenstef Nis Hale gathered a mining expedition toward to surface. The intention was to reclaim ancient ore mines the where abandoned during the war. The miner ended up staying and the city was reborn. Or so Hipria explained when I asked her about it. Also apparently Hipria was only a young girl when she came with her father on the mining expedition. Hipria is really old? I bet your thinking. But no, if I were to translate her age to human growth in years then she’s late teens going on twenty both in appearance and how she is treated by other of her race. Generally as a Dark Elf she is still very young but considered an adult.
