“The Divine will discover this world soon, Lucian” the High Oracle said to me.
“What do you mean? How? What do they want? How will they find out-” the High Oracle raised her hand to cut off my rapid fire of questions.
“I know you have a lot of questions, but that will have to wait. First, allow me to present the story of the Twin Prophecies to you”. She motioned for me to follow her, and I walked at her side, admiring the sights around me. Floating lights of different colors, the ambient was so dense up here that I could almost see strands of the elemental colors as I walked with the High Oracle.
She led me to a section of the island, that house towering walls of murals, showing different scenes. The artist responsible for creating these was magical, quite literally. The murals were paintings that moved, showing a section of time in each one. This is a wondrous example of the magic in this world.
Magic should be used for creating things like this, not destroying like mine does…
I feel a slight discontent with that thought originating from the Sin of Wrath in me, but I chose to ignore it for now. Even now, it is trying to influence me…
“Do not hold it against your Sin, Lucian. It can only act in response to its nature, nothing more, and nothing less” the High Oracle said, and I realized something just now.
“How did you know my name was Lucian? I’ve only introduced myself as Luce in the Fae Realm”.
Oracle. She can see into the future. Of course she knows my name.
Seeing the realization in my eyes, she smiled and nodded, “Correct. Do not worry, I shall not divulge any information about yourself that you do not wish to share” she said as stared at the first mural.
“Thank you for your kindness, High Oracle. I still do not feel worthy of it, but thank you all the same”. I truly do not know what would have happened if things happened differently on arriving here. There was nowhere else I could turn to, besides maybe the human capital, but even there it’s unknown.
She nodded and looked at me with warm eyes that almost reminded me of my mother. I wish that we could have talked one last time, Mom. There was so much left unsaid to both Dad and you. I shook my head and put those thoughts to the side, there were bigger things to think about now.

“The Twin Prophecies are one of the first to be foreseen, and even those are before I inherited the role of High Oracle” She spoke softly, remembering the weight of time that has passed since she received the role.
Waving her hand over the first mural, it changed to reflect a scene showing a young man with black hair and crimson eyes, fighting in various battlefields with the assistance of multiple different color lights casting various spells, ending in what appeared to be two scenes: Reaching an agreement with races of the world, or standing amidst the rubble of a capital with the nation’s flag burning to ashes.
Salvation or Calamity.
“The Fae Lords are aware of the Twin Prophecies, but assume that the one of Salvation or Calamity are the two separate ones, but it is instead a single one. The second one is something that has only been seen by my predecessor, the original High Oracle. She gave her life to transcribe this prophecy, and shattered her soul in the process…”
The High Oracle covertly wiped a tear from her eyes before regaining her composure and continuing.
“While I can not describe the origins of this world due to a Soul Oath preventing me from going into much detail, there is a small amount I can tell you. This world is hidden from outsiders and protected by figures strong enough to be called Demigods”.
Demigods? That’s a term that is used in my old word as well, for powerhouses below the level of Divines, and the peak of humanity’s potential.
“Yes, it is. It works in a similar way for most worlds. The peak of the races are known as Demigods, and it is theorized that a level above has existed among the powerhouses of the world” She told me, and waved her hands towards the first mural, and the scene changed from the first prophecy.
Motioning for silence with her finger over her mouth, she looked towards the mural, showing a tall man with long black hair down his back, and crimson eyes standing against a sky full of hostile stars, a darkness of infinite depth behind him.
Those stars… The Divine! Those were how the Divine presented themselves to the masses as a show of power in my previous world.
You will get the chance to enact your revenge after all. Except this time, you will rise to the occasion and burn those false Gods into nothing. Your anger and rage will guide you to the strength to do so!!
The High Oracle placed a hand on my shoulder, and I felt the Sin of Wrath recoil and hid deep inside of my being. Nodding to her in thanks, I took a deep breath and asked, “Can you tell me how long this world has until I have to fulfill the second prophecy?”
She shook her head sadly, and motioned towards my core. “You already have someone who will be able to give you a clearer answer than I can with my limited knowledge and ability to speak upon it. When your helper awakens, let them know that you are aware and need to know the time limit if possible”, and I nodded to her advice.
“Any advice on what I should do until then, High Oracle?” I asked, confused about the scope of this… Destiny?
“As hard as this may be to hear, just keep following what feels right. Your training with Lord Wrath and Selene will sow the seeds that will bear the fruits necessary for the future. Work hard and take care of yourself, as the Fae Realm will be but one stop on your journey”. She said as she gave my shoulder an encouraging squeeze.
“You should return to Selene and the Lords now, and remember to continue your training”. She hands me a crystal pendant, and I put it on. “If you are ever in need of my assistance, simply infuse the crystal with your Sin flame and I will rush to aid you. Goodbye for now, Lucian” and she waved her hand and I was sent back to the throne room.
The High Oracle looked to the stars in the sky, and said, “For all of our sakes, I hope you will grow as strong as you can before it is time”.
