After walking for an hour, remembering all the stories that were passed along to him, since he was a little kid, Jonas decided that his love for Chloe is greater than an old grudge. He returned to Chloe, who was still sleeping, sneaking onto the bed next to her, hugging her tightly. The next morning Chloe woke up and realized how she behaved and she started crying. She didn't know what came to her, as she was never like that, not even when she was a little girl, and get mad when her older brothers would break her toys. Jonas was in the kitchen preparing her breakfast. He heard Chloe crying, and he rushed to her. When he asked Chloe what was happening, she started crying even worse, as she was so ashamed of her behavior. Andrew heard her too, so he barged inside Chloe's room and slapped her hard on the face, to make her snap out of it. Chloe immediately stopped, and thanked Andrew for getting her out of that state, then she went to the bathroom to take a cold shower. Everyone was waiting for her at the table, with an awful silence. Chloe came, and she sat next to Jonas and started to thank God for their meal, then they all ate. Nicholas went to the basement to get an old bottle of red wine and served everyone a glass of it. While drinking, Nicholas whispered something to Andrew, who got up and asked for everyone's attention. Andrew got a box from his pocket and said that there is something very special inside of it, which will change the life of all of them. Chloe recognized the box, but she was relaxed as she thought it can't be unlocked, but Andrew opened it, revealing an old piece of paper, which was bent a dozen times. He took it in his hand and started to read it. It was some kind of an old decree between Jonas's family and Chloe's family, where it clearly stated what they were, and that any union between the two families is strictly forbidden, forever. Chloe got mad, stood up, punched the table very hard, and asked Andrew to shut the hell up. Her mother, Agatha, asked Chloe to calm down, but Chloe didn't listen and she started yelling at Andrew. Jonas interfered by taking Chloe in his arms and taking her outside. "-What is going on with you? There is no reason to get like this, I do not care about what our ancestors said, wrote, or whatever! -I don't know what is happening to me, I feel so much rage!" Jonas hugged Chloe and let her know that everything will be alright, they just need to go deep into the woods where they can find the elders of his pack. Chloe agreed, and Jonas soon turned into a werewolf and took her to the woods. When they arrived, they were already expected by two of the elders, who invited them both to drink a special tea, which was said to be the serum of truth. Chloe had some doubts about it, but she did it anyway, as she wanted to know more about what was happening to her. After a few minutes of drinking the tea, the elders started to do some incantations, put their hands on both Jonas and Chloe, then sit still for a minute. Chloe was very impatient and she asked the elders what they saw. One of them took Jonas aside to talk to him, while the other one remained with Chloe and told her that her future is not set yet, as she hasn't decided what she wants to be. But what was certain was that she was battling inside of her with the werewolf gene. The magic that stopped the gene from activating was strong, but she was much stronger than that, and she would soon turn if that would be what she desired. Although, if that would be the case, then her brothers and mother would turn too, and Chloe knew that they wouldn't want that. When Jonas and the other elder returned, Chloe noticed that Jonas wasn't himself, something was deeply bothering him. They thanked the elders and went straight to Jonas's cabin. There, Jonas took Chloe's hand, and with lots of sadness in his eyes, he told her that he can't be with her anymore, as much as he loved her, this had to be the end of their relationship. Chloe pulled her hand and asked Jonas for a good reason for breaking up with her, but Jonas couldn't tell her anything. "-Is it because of what those stupid books and letters said, that our love is forbidden? Tell me! -You don't understand, this has to be it, I am sorry Chloe…I truly am…" Chloe got mad and ran away through the forest, stopped next to a try, and started crying. She couldn't understand how this would be possible, one moment to be loved and cherished for the first time in her life, then that to happen. She cried for a long time until she fell asleep on the leaves that had fallen from the trees. Jonas didn't come after her, he decided to go and search for another pack to try and find more information about his situation with Chloe. After a while, Chloe woke up alone in the forest, the sun was about to set when she saw something moving in the bushes. She asked that creature or human to reveal themselves, but it was just a white fluffy rabbit. Chloe wasn't ready to go home yet, so she went to search for Jonas at the cabin, but he was long gone. She decided to stay there and wait for him to return. She was up all night waiting for Jonas, who didn't come back. In the morning, with her heart broken, she went back to her home. Her mom Agatha was waiting for her outside. When she saw her, she ran to her and hugged her tightly, as she could see that her daughter was heartbroken. Chloe started crying again in her mother's arms and asked her why that was happening to her, and what could she do. Agatha took Chloe inside, and they both sat on the couch, and Agatha told her that Chloe would find a way for everything to be ok again, as this was not the end of her first love. "True love lasts forever!" Agatha said to Chloe while wiping her tears from her cheeks. Chloe went to her room and fell quickly asleep. She slept for three whole days, and when she finally woke up, she wouldn't cry anymore, just was very sad. Nicholas and Andrew came to her and told her that if she needed them, they were there for her. Chloe hugged them both and told them how happy she was with such caring brothers, then went to search for Jonas again. She was not willing to let him go that easily.
