Today marks the fourth month since I was reborn and something amazing happened.
"Come on Ibuki, you can do it."
My mother was encouraging me from some distance away. Today was one of her “day-offs”, as she put it, so she was torme- Ah, playing with me.
She was waving my Zondrias toy at me from a distance, and Alexis and Daichi were simply clapping their hands at me.
"Woman! What is this!? You know my body is too weak. Ah whatever! I can do this.... Gooooooo! Right arm!"
I threw my right arm in front of me, hitting the ground powerfully.
"Left arm! Oooooooooo!"
Next was my left arm.
This was a battlefield. My first battlefield, the target was the huge fortress that was my mother.
"Hahaha! You wish to do battle? Fine! Let's do battle! Charge!"
I moved my right knee forward, then my left.
"Aaaaaahh! Left arm! Right knee! Right arm! Left knee! Left arm! Right knee! Right arm! Left knee!"
"That's it! You can do it! Go Ibuki! Go Ibuki! Go, go, go!"
"T-this feeling! It's been a while since I could move on my own. I'm unstoppable! Hahaha!"
SNAP!
"Ah, my eyes! What manner of sorcery is this!?"
I fell back due to the flash of the bright light.
"Oh no. Now she's crying."
I heard my mother say.
"Ouch! I was just taking a pic of her first crawl."
Alexis complained. I think Yellen knocked him or something, because she looked a bit annoyed.
"Don't make my baby cry again!"
Yellen came to pick me up, comforting me.
"S-sorry. Don't worry though, Ibuki is a strong girl. There's no way she can get hurt."
"How do you know that!?"
"Well, because you're her mother."
"It's ok Ibuki, calm down, calm down. Mommy's here. Don't worry, ok?"
"Sure, sure woman, I'm just interested in what that was."
I reached out for the thing Alexis was holding.
"Huh? You want this?"
Daichi asked, pointing to the square-like device in his hand and I nodded.
"Dad. Ibuki said she wants the camera."
"Yes. As expected of my subordinate. You understood me perfectly. I want that ca-ca-camela?"
"Oh? You see? Ibuki wants to see the camera."
Alexis smugly said to Yellen.
"Hmmm... fine. Just show her some pictures, ok? Don’t go flashing bright lights into her eyes. You’ll make her half-blind."
"Dad, lemme show it to her."
"Sure thing, kiddo. Just be careful with the flash."
Alexis gave the camera to my brother and he came running over to me. My mother set me on the ground next to Daichi. He brought the camera over to me, and it functioned just like the TV, only it was smaller.
It took images and froze them permanently, then stored them forever on something called a camera roll. I looked at it, and there was an image of me, frozen in time.
"Look, Ibuki. That's you."
"Me?"
I forcefully took the camera from Daichi and looked at myself.
I really was adorable, with my pale skin and silver white hair, chubby physique and dazzling emerald eyes.

"I really am adorable. I could possibly be the cutest thing in existence right now."
"You're so cute."
Daichi complimented me and I looked at him with a grin.
"And you're so... well, Daichi."
"What? You think I'm cute too?"
"No. I didn’t say that, but whatever makes you sleep better at night kid."
"Daichi! Bring your sister over for lunch."
"Ok, mom!"

TWO YEARS LATER
We were in the car. Yellen was driving Daichi off to school. Alexis had gone on a trip to visit his family or something like that, even though we were his family. Something about his distant relatives or what-not. Daichi was at the back with me and Yellen was mothering me, feeding me breakfast while dressing up, with the driver up front.
“Daichi, did you do all your homework?”
“Yes.”
“You got everything packed up in your bag?”
“Yes.”
“What about your phone in case I call you?”
“It is here.”
He raised a smart phone up and showed it to her.
“Good. We’re at your school. Have a good day. Mummy loves ya.”
She said and kissed his forehead. He opened the door and left off. As the two years had passed, I had developed a problem. And that problem was Daichi. I knew I said I would take him up as a minion and all, but then he was way too creepy. Too freaky. Almost like he wasn’t alive. Just an automaton following orders perfectly. I didn’t like him at all. He didn’t feel alive at all.
Yellen took up a sword and looked at it.
“Argh, this sword’s no good. When we get to the guild hall, get me a better blade for Ichigo-chan.”
My mother delivered an order to the driver before throwing the sword out the window. Honestly this woman needed to learn restraint. I could hear screaming coming from the outside.
“Uh… Boss, I don’t think throwing such a weapon out the window is advisable.”
“Eh? It was only a measly S minus rank weapon. It didn’t even have any modifications on it.”
“Still… it was a million dollar weapon.”
“Million dollar weapon my ass. It wouldn’t even cut my Ibuki.”
“Oi, oi, mother! Don’t say somethings that are unhealthy. Someone might actually believe you.”
I wanted to tell her, but saying something like that would be too absurd for a two-year-old. I just looked at her and she grinned at me, before combing through my hair.
“Sorry darling. You have to follow mummy to her boring work today. I’d bet you just want to stay home and watch stuff, huh?”
“I… want… Zon… drias!”
I told her.
“Ah… anything but that honey.”
“Zon… drias!”
“That show is a bit too… well, not child friendly.”
“Ah! I… want… Zondrias!”
“Sigh… we’ll talk about this later.”
The car came to a stop and the driver stepped down to open the car door for her. When she got out, she put on her coat and was about to lift me off the seat.
“Yellen! Stinking! Aranalla!”
Someone rudely shouted out her name. My mother quickly turned around and her mood changed. She looked quite pissed off.
“Uh… Ibuki. I know I promised to take you to work with me today, but it seems that I can’t. Stay in the car for a while, ok?”
She slammed the door shut.
“Stupid, Ichigo-chan! You’re too damned early! Do you want me to ******** your brains out?”
So, I ignored everything. I spent about ten minutes waiting and nothing had happened. I suddenly had a thought. The world was at peace so I never really had to think about it, but now that there was nothing to do I decided to awaken my core. I went to work. Since the moment I had been able to walk... well crawl, it meant I was ready to begin training this body. Two years had passed now and I had grown a bit. So, my body should have been able to handle it now. I wanted to get an early start as usual, although I had been quite laid back this time.
With my eyes closed, I looked inside for what kind of energy I possessed. I remember that knights used force, mages use Mana, and Monks use chakra. If I look deep inside, I should be able to identify just what kind of energy I was born with this time around. Either one of them was good for me. I knew how to work with all of them, or with none of them although it would be the least preferred option.
With closed eyes, I tried to look into my core. There was a white orb there, almost as bright as the sun. The shape of this core variated based on the type of energy the person possessed, same as the size and brightness of the core. The average person's core was definitely way smaller than this and less bright – The brighter the core, the higher the potential. The bigger it is, the higher the power. This was how my core as a knight looked.
For a second, I thought I was reborn as a Knight with force, this time however, there was something odd about my core. Or should I say cores? There was a deep red core next to it, as small as the white one. Then there was a golden one around the same size and a green one.
'Ah... my core as a mage? The one from my time as a monk as well? Same for my nameless core as a blacksmith!? What the hell is happening!? A-and this one.... what's this. This black substance. It feels too negative. Nether energy? H-how? I can't produce nether energy. Where did I get this core from? Is it from this current life? W-what?’
There was deep purple one next to it that radiated Nether energy. It was the smallest one out of all my cores, but it had the most disgusting feel to it and it had some dark threads wrapped around the other cores. It was slowly swallowing them up.
I grabbed the thread and yanked it. I felt some heavy resistance and a weird feeling in my back.
‘Ugh? Leave my cores!’
I kept pulling hard, but the black threads were too strong. Feeling like what I was doing was pointless, I grabbed the threads from two different points and pulled it apart to tear it up.
‘I tried to be diplomatic about this.’
I summoned a large sword. This was my inner being and I had complete control over it. I slashed at the thread, but it didn’t cut. I then tried once again, the thread didn’t even budge.
‘Tch. A bigger sword then!’
I envisioned the sword enlarging. It became so big even the Eifel tower would be beneath it.
‘Now, leave my cores alone you stupid thing.’
I brought the sword down on the threads, managing to cut the connection. With it, my Force core glowed brightly, blinding me in my own domain.
When I opened my eyes, I found myself looking at my mother. She was surrounded by some people who I didn’t know and was staring at me in shock.
“Ibuki?!”
She cried out my name. The person behind her was looking at me intensely. From their posture I could tell that they were really strong. I however blinked and noticed that I was in my mother’s arms and on the ground.
‘Eh? W-What happened?’
“Oh, my baby girl. You awakened your core so early.”
“What…?”
Yellen lifted me up with dazzling eyes.
“You’re going to become super strong like mummy.”
‘Wait! Did she get me down faster than I could blink? W-What the hell?’
“Still, I won’t train you till later.”
This woman… my mother. She was very scary at times. Also, I had never heard a core awakening that caused an explosion and made the baby float. Maybe it was something elves did? If so, they must have had entire compounds dedicated to their children’s awakenings.
