It's windy outside. The environment was unusually calm, a rare occurrence in cities like Bangkok. Lily sat in her dorm, lost in a conversation with her friend and roommate Jenny about their studies. They were sitting opposite each other on their beds, which were neither clean nor messy.
Lily's Pov:
"You're going to university tomorrow. Aren't you excited?" Jenny asked, curiosity clear in her tone, even though she already knew the answer.
I was taken aback by the sudden question but managed to give her an answer,
"I am! But I am nervous at the same time. What if people hate me like my previous school?"
I fail to comprehend. Does being wealthy automatically make you mean? I didn't know if she could see that I was not kidding about it and I was genuinely worried about the matter.
"Don't worry! You're nice and you're beautiful. Why would they hate you?"
She's right but that didn't change the fact that others might not share that perspective. After all, if people hated me in my previous school, it is possible for people there to do the same.
I replied, trying to sound sarcastic. "Well, the ones from my previous school did!"
Jenny seemed genuinely worried for a moment there and attempted to lift up my confidence when she said,
"You know what, I think you should not care about who hates you and who doesn't. If they want to hate you, just let them. It's their loss!" But is it truly their loss?
I suppose she has a point, but I couldn't help but worry about it. However, I'll try to not put much thought into it.
"Yeah, You're right... I guess." I said while trying to brush those negative thoughts out of my mind.
The Next Day

Cherry was in the bathroom with her friend Del washing her hands, when they overheard a conversation two girls beside them were having...
The random girl was talking to her about something. She looked around but didn't see Cher and Del since they were in the corner of the bathroom.
"Do you know that there's a new girl joining today?" Said she, with admiration in her voice.
"Yeah! I heard she's really beautiful and is a freshman too." replied the girl next to her with excitement.
"Do you think she can be our friend?" The previous girl asked her friend.
The girl's expression shifted in an instant. Her friend rolled her eyes, "No way! She's far too rich to be with us. Her dad's a world known actor. Plus, she'll probably be really mean."
"Yeah, I agree." The girl said, and left the bathroom, the admiration in her voice disappearing.
After those girls left the bathroom, Cherry and Del came to the front. Cherry looked at Del, gave a bit of a sassy and confused look, twitched her mouth and they both burst out laughing. It seemed like an inside joke, typical of besties!
"Who's the new girl everyone's talking about? It's the third time I heard someone talking about her." Cherry inquired.
"I don't know either! I just know that she was really popular in her previous school" Del replied, being a bit annoyed which was very obvious.
Cherry rolled her eyes, still slightly chuckling, "Must be so tiring being a popular girl. I could never!" She remarked with frustration.
After that, they both came out of the bathroom. Del looked around first, then looked at Cher and gave her an 'ah shit' look.
Cherry gave Del a confused look, squinting her eyes and raising her eyebrow hinting 'what happened' then Del said, "Umm.... Cher, I need to go. I forgot that I still haven't finished my assignment."
Cherry sighed and looked at her as if saying, ''seriously?'' but said,
"Okay... Then, See ya''
Del went running and Cherry shouted from behind, "You can copy mine if you want!"
Del rushed to the classroom, leaving Cher completely alone in the Hall room. Cherry continued her way to the cafeteria to grab something to eat when a loud occurrence came behind.
A random girl carrying a bag and a file came running and bumped into her. The file immediately dropped on the floor. The girl was looking back so Cher didn't see her face then the girl bent down to pick up the file and papers that were scattered around the floor.
"Oh, I am really really sorry for that. I am new here so I don't know the way to my class." She said with a gorgeous voice while gathering together the mess she had just made.
"Do you need any help picking those up?" Cherry offered, always eager to lend a hand.
"No, it's totally fine. You... don't have to..." The girl started to slowly lift her head to see the gentlewoman talking to her and when she saw the gorgeous face of Cherry, she was too stunned to speak, her heart stopped beating for a few seconds. She felt like a whole zoo was wandering in her stomach.
Lost in the moment, she didn't realize that she had been staring at Cherry's face for more than a minute already.
Cherry snapped her fingers to get her back to reality "Hey, are you okay? Did you get hurt?" She asked, her tone filled with concern.
"Hmm? Umm... n-no. Umm... I think I should go now. I am getting late to class." Lily got so nervous she started stammering, getting up and attempting to run away.
She had already sprint past the hallway when she heard Cherry shout,
"Hey! At least tell me your name!"
But she pretended not to hear it and left for her classes.
Cherry sighed and slightly smiled at how absurd the situation just was in her opinion "What a weird girl!" She said, with slight confusion.
But the lingering confusion raised a bit more when she realized the girl looked oddly familiar and she thought to herself 'But wait, Do I know her?' she tried to recall but couldn't remember at all so she tried to brush it off by thinking maybe it's just her imagination or probably someone who looks similar
but
little did she know...
That it wasn't gonna get out of her mind at such ease.
