Chapter 1: Trucks are overestimated

Void. Darkness. Absence of light. Blindness. There are many names for the feeling or place I'm in right now. I ought to know myself where I am, or even just what happened.

I only remember seeing as a truck came crashing down the street, as a little girl was passing said street. I, of course, being the hero I am, watched as it happened whilst eating a sandvich. I saw as the truck smashed into the girl and turned her into grinded meat.

But, as any good truck without a driver would do, it suddently turned and bagan to dash towards me. I immediately threw myself to the side, dodging the mad truck. It came close to hitting me, but luckily, it missed.

Fate must have been pretty mad at me for surviving this, considering a fucking arrow suddently flew and stabbed me right in the heart. I turned to see a guy running towards me. He had tears down his eyes and a bow in his hand. Fate, you bastard, why would you destroy my meager 43 years old life! I never even had a chance to go skydiving into a battlefield...

So, here I currently am. Floating in a void with no idea of what will happend to me. Following the tipical story-line, God should now make his nice and timely appearance... Well, not exactly timely, considering I don't quite feel a sense of time in this place, but I guess time is overrated. Who needs it...

I keep waiting. And waiting. And more waiting. And even more waiting. After what seemed like hours and hours, I finally see a small light flicker into existance in front of me. About time, you damn shitty god... Where you going to send me insane from boredom? Well, congratulations, since you almost succeded.

I look at the strange light and wait for it to finally make a god or some shit appear. I keep waiting, but nothing happends, so I try to move my floating body towards it and catch it with my hands. Nothing happends yet again. Slightly curious, I bring it close to my face to get a better look at it, and suddently my instincts take over and I throw the spark in my mouth. I gulp it down and feel a brief moment of euphoria in doing so.

Haha... Is this some sort of soul realm? Am I cursed to wander eternity around here, eating sparks? Haha... fuck...

Luckily for me, I suddently feel myself in a completely white room. I look around, slightly dazed, and find a desk... floating. Yup, it's floating upon nothingness, just like me. Behind said desk is a man in perhaps his 20's, who I assume is some sort of god from all of this bullshit that happened.

I shrug my shoulders since there's nothing I can do about it by now and walk... no, float towards the desk. I arrive in front of it and look at the man behind it, who was staring at me with curious eyes but keeping silent.

"Well, mr. God, mind telling me wether I'm going to hell, heaven, reincarnated, kept as an apostle, tortured, used as a slave or reborn? I'd like to know what your excellence is going to do with this lowly soul of mine." I say, with obvious sarcasm in my voice.

The man's face breaks into a smile, and he says "Hehehe, my investigation were correct it seems. You are indeed the perfect choice for me. I like your attitude, human. Well~, you can choose yourself wether you want to be reborn into a world where I will grant you powers in exchange for a little task I will give you~."

I look at the 'god' with sharp eyes and say "Well, that certainly doesn't sound like a bad deal, but do tell me this 'task' of yours." The man's grin widens even more, and he responds "Well~... Chaos! I want chaos! That world is constantly under the protection of 'heroes' and other bullshit... I hate that! A world of mine dares to be peaceful! Can you believe it!?"

I almost break into a laugh and answer "Hahaha... no. I don't believe it. What kind of shitty world is it where you can't even conquer it just to destroy it? Haha... If I had been born into that world beforehand without meeting Your Excellence I'd have killed myself out of boredom..." My sarcasm was gone. I seriously would have...

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

"Hehe... I knew I made the right choice spending so much essence on you... Well~, Garold Harkrain, once the conqueror of the world and titled the 'Crazed Tyrant', do you want to become my apostle of chaos?" I look at the man and say "That's a shitty name, just so you know. I'd rather be a simple and humble apostle." Both of our smiles were insanely large, and I couldn't help but to laugh outloud.

"Hahahaha, sure! Become my apostle! Well, now that you agreed with the boring part, let's get down to business shall we~? Let's get you some crazy destructive powers... Hehehe, I can't wait for you to rampage..." I look at the crazy god who killed me only to have me reborn with a raised eyebrow and say "Hm? Why would I want crazy destructive powers? I have much, much better ideas in my mind..."

The man laughs and waves his hand. Suddently, a screen appears in front of my face.

Name: / / / / / / / / / Age: 43 Gender: / / / / / / / / / Race: / / / / / / / / / Powers:  None

I look at the screen with a blank face. Yup, I'm completely blank right now... I guess I'll need to fill myself out? I look at the god with a questioning look, and he answers with a smug smile "Well~, I'll send all possible options into your mind. Do choose between races, ages and powers. Your name shall be decided by your parents, and even I can't control fate, so good luck with that."

As he finishes saying that, I feel a stream of information rush into my head. I groan at the sudden mental strain, but try to keep a straight face. There are several hundreds of superpowers, some very broad and some specific. I only have a general description for each one of them, so I'll need time to consider this. Also, I can see quite a number of... exotic species in the information the god sent into my head.

"... Give me a moment or two to consider my options. I can also see that each thing costs 'karma', but I don't actually know how much of it I have. Mind telling me?" The god nods at my question and says "Well, don't worry too much about the karma. Just pick a couple powers you like and I'll find something to offset them, for now, just pick."

I nod in aknowledgment and begin to sort through all of the information. Fire control, shapeshifting, flight... there are lots of powers that sound cool, but simply don't fit me.

I spend two entire hours simply going through all of the powers, carefully inspecting each and every one of them. In the end, I pick out the powers that I find the strongest and most resourceful: Infinite Regeneration, Godly Attribute and Mental Manipulation. The names are mostly self-explaining. Infinite Regenation grants me extreme regeneration and immortality to aging, godly being will give me an extremely powerful body and Mental Manipulation lets me mess with a person's memories, sanity or even take control of them for periods of time.

I look at the god, who was silently looking at me with his head resting on his hands. "I've chosen. Infinite Regeneration, Godly Attribute and Mental Manipulation. Also, if you can, max out every physical stat on my body and put the rest into memory." The god nods at me and says "Well, did you decide the race yet?" I nod at him and say "Yeah."

I stay silent for a bit, and the god looks at me suspiciously "Well? Which race?" I look at him with a wierd expression and say "Well~... Since being a human is boring, and since I already know what being a male feels like, how about I give a go to the succubus race just for a change?" The god had his mouth in an 'o' shape, but then began to laugh and said "Haha, well, that'll be interesting. Sure, as a gift, let's give you the most beautiful body out there." I nod at him. Being beautiful can be dangerous, but really helpful at times...

"Well, seems like we're ready to send you off. I will give you up to a hundred years to live in peace and train, but after that I want you to do something crazy. I don't care what, just do it." I nod, and feel myself being pulled out of the white space. I don't miss the smirk on god's face though, and I'm sure he didn't miss mine either. This is going to be fun...
