Immortality is only one of many reasons that those who cultivate would spend years, decades, and centuries in a closed room by themselves.
For those that spend all that time, learning the deepest truths of our plane of existence, is just a byproduct.. Yet we're Left with the unmistakable thought that it is the natural progression of self styled evolution.
However over the many, many millenia that has passed obviously even the plane itself would have evolved overtime.
In this case like all planes before it eventually it intersected with another call in this event in which the two planes intersected one another a new plane was in the midst of being born.
If not for the this third plane of existence. When the two mortal planes would have crossed each other’s path the only natural result would have been destruction of the entirety of its existence.
This third plane of the of existence that had grown not only saved but altered this result. The most interesting fact regarding this third plane was that it is a plane of pure Growth and creation. Due to its nature as a newly born plane, it allowed the forces of growth, creation, and new paths to be born within the formerly separate planes.
Destruction, death, and the end of all things which should have occurred instead were diverted. However, These energies were not prevented from having existed at all. They were swept in along with the more ”positive" Previous energies. This led to the Resulting singular plane to house the full might of two older planes along with these powerful core basic energies.
This ultimately resulted in this plane of existence being fundamentally changed in such a way that it became not only an eternal existence but an infinite one.
Now one of those original planes of existence existed in such a manner that the common individual who sought power through personal accumulation of knowledge, accumulation of energy, and the fundamental evolution of their own existence. The other plane of existence was one which the common individual Who sought power would still grow through personal accumulation of knowledge and the fundamental evolution of their own existence. However one major way in which the two differed, was how they accumulated the forces That allowed them to alter the world around them.
One accumulated power through meditation and drawing in the energies within the space around them and the other did so through entering within sub dimensional spaces which house beings of malice and anger. By culling these Beings they would absorb the remaining life force and energy within them which allowed their bodies to both grow and accumulate these Energies.
When these two separate worlds came together. These separate paths of pursuing power and evolution of self both remained true. In fact when these two paths came together They joined and allowed one to pursue both paths at the same time.
One major difference that one world had over the other was the existence of what was referred to “Natural Talents.” When these two planes of existence came together this altered all peoples in what such a manner that everyone now only became capable of cultivation through personal accumulation but also it allowed all peoples to earn an possess a natural talent similar two how the original separate planes worked.
While talent still plays a critical role in each individual's ability to grow and evolve their own self, there was still a great alteration of the entire planes power schematics, due to being able to be skilled naturally within one or the other path even if they were limited in the alternative.
Not to mention, That not only could you find fate defying treasures within the natural world, these sub dimensions that came with the second plane of existence carry their own treasures that defied fate in their various manners.
These various factors came together to allow all peoples a fair opportunity to grow beyond what they were ever allowed in their previous lives.
An excerpt on How power changed by Julius Trybor
Fourth year student Academy of Mages in Ryolin Empire
Throwing himself out of his front door, Jacob Greene, was greeted by bustling streets. The sounds of people animatedly talking and passing through. The streets crowded due to today being the awakening ceremony. The sights That greeted his eyes are streets filled with people of all the various races that live in this area, humans predominantly outnumbering the rest.
The smell of freshly baked bread led him to the neighboring shop For breakfast before he hurried off to the central Plaza.
The crowded streets were difficult to get through causing Jacob to make slow progress, though to be honest he would have been slow due to his curiosity of all the people surrounding him. It isn’t often that the outer city is so crowded with people from out of the city coming in for the awakening ceremony.
While most people were dressed in rather common colored tan or gray tunics with brown breaches or other dull colored clothes There was the occasional individual wearing some type of job or career based outfit. Such as The Smiths or the Masons in their darker clothes.
Following the sounds of the crowd, Jacob slowly approached the Plaza itself entering and joining the extraordinarily crowded area. People were shoving and shuffling their feet trying to find some place to stand while they waited for one of they waited for one the Ascended to begin the ceremony to begin.
Despite his excitement, Jacob was scared that he’d have nothing to set him apart from the rest of the masses. He knew that if he didn’t awaken to some worthy talent he’d be left behind by the schools or sects forever scrounging near the bottom of the pile. He couldn’t bear that thought and struggled closer to the center of the Plaza, despite it being common knowledge that you didn’t get a better talent being close. Jacob wasn’t risking anything.
This would decide the rest of his life, he wouldn’t fail here.
As he struggled forward there was a blanket of power that approached the Plaza. As it neared, people slowly stopped becoming silent and still. Their hearts awed by the might of the man who approached.
Noticing something, Jacob stopped and craned his head around looking for what happened.
From the North road was a man who appeared middle-aged. As he grew close, you could better see him. Short dark hair with some grey mixed in over a pair of sharp dark eyes. Thin lips surrounded by messy scruff. If it weren’t for the palpable sense of power and his rich suit of brightly colored clothes, Jacob would have been disappointed by the man’s normal appearance.
But, those two things came together to to give him hope, if a man who looked so average was able to reach that point, why couldn’t he?
As the man entered the Plaza even Jacob had to stop and take a deep breath. His life was about to really begin. Nothing could stop him now. He hoped.
The Ascended looked around the crowd before scoffing.
“This is ridiculous, how many people do they think I can handle?”
Shaking his head, the man took a step forward, but instead of moving in just one direction he rose into the air. As he continued walking forwards he steadily rose into the air. Within moments he had risen to about the height of a second story building.
“Whatever, I’ll just get through this quickly then….” Clearing his throat, the man raised his arms, his blue suit jacket and white shirt drew the eye as he sucked in a deep breath.
“Prepare yourselves, I’m only doing this once.” With a scowl on his face the man swung his arms out and then back together. When his palms met, there was a sound that passed through the air. It wasn’t like flesh meeting, but the deep tone of a gong. The vibrations ran through the crowds. As it passed, there was a general feeling that swamped the people below him.
Under his eyes the crowd slowly began collapsing on the streets experiencing the introduction of a fundamental energy for the first time in their lives.
Jacob tried staying awake as long as he could. He’d heard that the longer you fought before succumbing, the more of your potential you initially had access to.
Sadly he was barely able to fight off the feeling of weakness that swamped him. Before his eyes closed he was able to see that they weren’t that many people still standing near him. With a marginal sense of pride he finally collapsed.
