"3!.. 2!.. 1!" a huge crowd of people in lake Como, Italy screamed while counting down for the arrival of 2019. After the countdown, the sound of the fireworks soaring up to the sky can already be heard and as soon as it reached a great height it exploded. Green, blue, orange and more colors can be seen up in the sky. The fireworks did not last long, not even two minutes. Right after the first batch of fireworks exploded, many people noticed some sort of strength flowing through their whole body but many also didn't notice anything probably caused by their enthusiasm. The people who didn't notice the power flowing through them made fire, water and other types of magic come out from their hands which caused a huge uproar. Explosions can be seen, water being frozen and objects being flown away by strong gusts of wind.
I am with my family; my mother, my two sisters and two young nieces. As we saw the development of the chao a strong feeling of fear formed inside us. like anyone else we also started running. I carried my 4 years old niece while my eldest sister pushed my 2 years old niece who was on her stroller. People are bumping into each other without any care at all. Everyone is in a frenzy… even though notice it since we are all trying to escape many people have already died.
The disturbance isn't only happening in Como, Italy right now but around the whole world or should say… on all the countries that the earth we know has?. Our world is no longer inhabited by just humans. Earth became four times bigger and fantasy like creatures such as Dragons, Elves, Goblins and monsters started appering slowly near us.
Different races came to our aide. They taught us to control the mana circulating through our bodies to avoid further damages and deaths. Almost everything were in ruins but we slowly progressed at taking a step forward and rebuilding our homes. Humans were getting along well with the elves, fairies and dwarves since they were the first ones to offer us help but there were people who didn't like their existence with us humans. A group of people called "The Reminiscence" who remains in the dark didn't support the co-existence of humans and other races. They try to rebel but always lose in the end. Their agenda was to gain to make power to make humans the top of the food chain and not be looked down upon by any other creatures ever again. Obviously they never succeeded since they were to weak but not just them, the same thing applied to us. We never knew… we were always kept in the dark so we never grew any stronger since the extermination of monsters were left to the other races while we were always protected from harm.
On January 1 2020, magic can be seen up above in the sky making beautiful explosions. Instead of fireworks, magic is used instead. A lot of people participated in making their magic explode up in the air and their action illuminated the dark skies… skies filled with flying dragons. The dragons were flying as if they had a parade, and unexpectedly launched surprised attacks like earth wave, fireballs, iron needles and more everything depending on their attributes. Aside from dragons there were also vampires, monsters, dwarves, goblins, demi-humans, demons and elves that were killing every humans that they encounter. Most humans die without a fight caused by fear or pain of betrayal from the other races who we thought were our friends while some acted without hesitation for their survival and I was one of them.
I was with my family and I did my best to protect them. My second sister who has light element, created a light barrier to shield us from enemies attacks, my mother has fire element so she lit fire as big as her hand to warm us and help brighten our surroundings since we are hiding in a dark old abandoned building. My eldest sister was a swordswoman and I am a… Summoner; a worthless one at that. Summoners are a special class and could be considered an SSS Rank since they can summon even gods if they form a contract and not many of them exists. As for why I am useless, that is because I can only summon baby cubs that are unable to fight. I have a baby pegasus, a baby deer, a baby Marlin inside a pool of water that looks like a ball and a blue slime. All of my familiars were babies so i didn't bother to ask them for help. I wouldn't want to use such adorable beings for battle.
From where we are, we felt a strong quake and saw some dust falling from above us. Cracks started forming on the ceiling and bit by bit it started falling. As soon as a part of the ceiling fell behind us, I quickly shouted "Run!". We dashed out of the building as fast as we could. We ran to the exit and distanced ourselves from the building to avoid the building that's falling apart. As we go further there were some goblins so I used myself as decoy so that my eldest sister can kill them. My sister lost her balance so the goblin found an opportunity to attack, my reflexes are good so I quickly grabbed the blade of a dead goblin lying on the ground and stabbed my sister's attacker on the back of its head. The damage was not enough to kill it . The goblin turned around fast and swang his wooden weapon that looks like a huge chicken thigh. It landed a strong blow on my stomach that probably broke some of my ribs. I was sent flying a few meters away and landed on my back. I tried to get up but it was to painful.

"I must protect them" I thought to myself.
I used my right arm, palm on the ground to get up and my left arm to support me. I looked at my eldest sisters direction and she had already cut its head. A sigh of relief came out of my mouth and then I smiled. While smiling, I looked at my mother and the others direction. The light barrier was slowly disappearing since my sister run out of mana. Out of nowhere, an elf who had long blonde hair with big chests and a sword on her appeared above my mother and was about to slice her in half. My familiars sensed the malicious killing intent. The slime, deer and marlin attacked the elf below her chest. The attack sent her flying upwards where the baby pegasus was waiting . The baby pegasus dashed towards the elf and kicked her with its two back feet. As soon as it kicked the elf, it stopped and opened its mouth just like my other familiars except for the slime. The slime jumped to take the sword in the womans hand and went on its way to come to me while my three other familiars breathed out flames, water and wind from their mouths to kill the elf. I was amazed of what I saw; it was something that was not even expecting. Lost in awe, I still saw my mother and sencond sister fall to the ground with arrows in theie forehead. I was shocked and speechless. I got mad and looked around as to who might have been responsible. I didn't know but we were already surrounded. My eldest sister's head was ripped of by a saberrtooth monster. It left me in agony but I saw that my two nieces were still alive and were crying while holding each other. More monsters were coming and fear built up inside of me. I did not want to lose my nieces but i could only crawl. I tried my best to get to my nieces first but ten more sabertooths appeared. My familiars blocked them all and I was really thankful but from afar two elves shot their arrows which hit my nieces in their hearts and quickly died.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I screamed while crying "Come out whoever you are! You cowards!" I shouted. I was full of anger. I hit the ground with my fist and pledged "I will kill every single one of you"
"Sorry Alvin" a voice of a man said. I looked up and saw that it was Erwin, the elf who taught us at our refuge camp about magic, mana and jobs. He looked down at me "I'll finish it quickly" he continued and stabbed my heart.
My eyes slowly closed but I was still conscious. "I can't go just like this, we were defenseless and weak. I thought that they were friends but I was wrong. Everybody should have listened to The Reminiscence. I'm cursing every living beings that conspired against us. If we don't deserve to live then nobody does either! My dear familiars, if you can hear me, I just want to apologize for summoning you and being a worthless master." My conciousness drifted away.
My eyes opened and as I regained conciousness I noticed that I am all alone in the room. I am lying in the bed and beside me is a stand where an IV drip connected to the cannula inserted in my left arm is hanging.
"How am I alive?" I asked myself "I completely died in the hands of Erwin…" tears slowly falls from my eyes to the blanket that's covering my lower body while I'm in a sitting position.
The white door located on the front left from my bed opens and a 160cm tall man with short black hair, small beard and chubby body wearing a striped polo shirt, bright brown short that covers up to his knees and brown shoes that looks like topsiders. The man is my father and his name is Jose. Beside my father is a woman as tall as my father wearing a white gown. From the woman's appearance it is obvious that she is a doctor.
"Pa!" I called loudly to my father while crying
"Ben!" he called me by my nickname and from the door, he rushed towards me "what's wrong!? Do you feel pain somewhere?" he asked as soon as he arrived beside me.
"Mama, ate Elaine, ate April, Scarlet and Lacey!.." I couldn't continue what I was about to say but I continued "the… they're dead!" I couldn't bare the pain. I clutched my chest where my heart is located.
