Prologue

"Greetings. The Messenger is speaking to you. The messenger is not sentient, it has no will, no telephone capabilities, it does not answer questions, it is impossible to contact those who sent the messenger through the messenger: it is just a message. A message that you may or may not listen to.

Some time ago, a disaster struck in our world. It doesn't matter what exactly, what matters is that we had to take action quickly. Not only in relation to the inhabitants of our world, but also to the world itself.

We made a directed explosion of the interworld substances - erkhay. Probably, you are not interested in the consequences for our world, but you have felt the consequences for the worlds around our one. There was no blast wave, however, distortions of space occurred in the neighboring worlds. The only ones who suffered were human and very few actually did. Only those whose physical connection with the world was minimal. The blast wave can be compared to a breeze that swept paper off the table, leaving heavier objects untouched. In each of the nine worlds that felt the wave of distortion, two to four people suffered. But only you were thrown out of your world without a body.

The chances of a wave hitting you were one in three billion, that it would kick your soul out — one in eighteen billion, that you would survive — one in two million. It is difficult for us to judge whether you were lucky or not because we do not know if you were happy there. According to our data, there are fifty-two dimensions inhabited by various creatures, and all this is only part of one world, in which there has never even been a theory of inter-world travel, so, unfortunately, you will not be able to return home.

The world where you will find yourself is techno-chemical, with the beginnings of the energy-magical. Developing external energy, people here often crossed paths with the magic of adjacent dimensions, but once they turned to the techno-chemical path, they did not forget their past. Technologically, this world is not much superior to yours, even inferior in some ways. But in its history, there were events that, only by slightly touching the Earth, gave an impetus and means for development in some ways, much ahead of your civilization.

Vastly different in detail, overall this place is very similar to your homeworld. This message is not an encyclopedia for you, it is not proof that you are not crazy, it is not even a way to get you up to speed. Our message is just an apology. Let, perhaps, unnecessary apologies to you.

We sincerely apologize for what happened, but we could not do otherwise. The future of the whole world depended on our actions. The life of twenty-three people, of whom six survived, is not worth the whole world. Forgive us if you can ... "- A young Japanese woman in the blue yukata bowed and melted like a ghost.
