Soul Shop

Without any time to think about what that text meant I was transported again. Thinking I was still a dream I had nothing to fear so I willingly went not caring as this was just a dream, just a dream.

“Hello good sir, would you like to browse our wares?” An Asian man said he adored a tuxedo and even had a little bow tie. “How do I leave?” I asked. “You need to at least buy a class before you go.” “What's a class?” I asked back. No answer I asked again but still no answer I eventually gave up and asked to show me his wares, another text box appeared in front of me.

Congratulations you have gained the uncommon class, Neon Slayer.

Looking over it twice I couldn’t believe my luck was so high compared to my other stats. Maybe this was the lucky break I needed away from my boring office job which every day was the same old job. Still, my immediate thought was on my parents and sister.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

If this wasn’t a dream then I am sincerely over my head and also stupid about picking a random class. Getting up I tried the lights which didn’t work, like in my horror and in all these litrpgs about the world ending and the power turning off I was very disappointed it happened. Sitting back on my bed I thought over everything that has happened thus far. Burying my head into my hands I started to cry. It was unbelievable, terrible and I have died not once BUT TWICE!

So I stayed here and cried my soul out. After crying I felt a sense of determination. I was going to find my sister and parents. I didn’t care if they were on another continent. I WAS going to get to them. Stepping out of my door leading to the narrow corridor I realized that the door in front of me was opened but it was opened inwards.

Quickly I turned back, closing and locking my door. I moved away just in time as an enormous bang resounded crashing into my shanty door. Luckily the door held in time for me to get to the kitchen quickly I grabbed a kitchen knife this time my door didn’t hold crashing onto the ground. Spiraling around a knife in hand.

A green humanoid man greeted me. Still, I didn’t care if it was life or death. What I learnt in my karate classes is you don't let your enemy go first. Speeding the forward knife in hand I leapt at it.

It was momentarily stunned from the impact and didn't react fast enough as A knife stabbed into its head. Even with my full force going behind the attack I still felt resistance. Shocked that my stab barely penetrated its head I backed away running back to the kitchen.

A scream escaped its lips as it suddenly looked at me with bloodshot eyes. As it dashed forward still with the knife in its head I realized I had to think fast. Putting the knife behind me as I backed to the far end to look unarmed and scared. It must have been stupid or has bad eyesight as It was nearly on my I dashed quickly to the side while my hand stabbed out to its exposed neck.

Barely any resistance met me as it went in. Not taking any chances I stabbed out repeatedly in quick succession. A gurgle escaped its lips but even still it fell to the floor. Gasping hard I looked down at my defeated foe. Horror crossed my eyes at a thought and suddenly I was down on the ground with it stabbing it over and over until it was a bloody and mangled corpse.

I sat down on my sofa and left to the blood strewn corpse on the ground. Finally I checked on the blinking notification that appeared in front of me.

Congratulations! You have gained a level and so have 2 free stat points to use.

Looking over the message I opened up my status as I thought over the fight I realized I didn’t have enough strength as if I could kill my target faster it would be easier. So I placed my two stat points in strength.

A searing sensation passed through my body but it soon faded. Ahghghh vomit-covered my carpet quickly I rushed to the tap which didn’t work so I quickly went to the fridge and poured a bottle of water down which made the taste disappear, thankfully.

Looking down at my arms I saw they were still the same as before. I threw out a few punches and only then did I notice the difference. An invisible force was helping power my punches, kicks, throws anything to do with attacking.

The mana was assisting me, even slightly like it was now. I knew my body wasn’t going to get beefier but the mana was going to assist me.

I started packing supplies, food, clothes, sanitary items, books, and a few other knick-knacks. Packing it into an easily carryable bag I made my way across my disgusting floor to my once closed-off house.

Peering my head through the door I looked out both ways. Not seeing another monster I moved out into the corridor. I didn’t go into my polar neighbor’s room scared at what horror I would see. I silently started walking now, noticing the lack of noise present in the building… I also noticed that most doors were wide open. Not attempting the elevator and choosing the stairs I started making my way down. I held back vomit as I saw a ripped-in-half human on the steps as gore and entrails covered the steps leading down. My legs collapsed as I fell onto the steps looking down at the scene in front of me.

Ripped clothes soaked into the blood. Seeing this I couldn’t hold back the snack I ate before I came down came back up again. I didn’t want to go down so I went back up to my apartment block trying desperately to stop thinking about anything.

As I got back to my one-room apartment I tried to burn that thought out of my mind with other happier thoughts. Eventually, I gave up as it was engraved into my mind. Scared that could happen to me at any time, I made a silent vow to get stronger as I didn’t want to be a stain on the ground.

Now my next issue; leaving. I wasn’t going down the stairs and the elevator was probably not working. Looking at my window I saw the five-story drop, I wasn’t getting down there. I could go down the emergency fire escape area but that was also the stairwell. Only one option was open to me, the stairwell…

As I peered out again another one of those green things was there and unfortunately for me, it was staring right at me. Grabbing the knife I packed away inside my bag like an idiot cost me valuable seconds as it came at me so when I finally pulled it out blessing my lucky stars it was the last thing I packed so it was on top of the clothes. It was on top of me.

Jumping at me I barely had time to swing my mana enhanced arm around to bash it to the side. The sharp point went in then out of its body as it got knocked to the side. A searing pain grew in my arm from the recoil, I had no time to worry about it as a scream came out of the little bastard, and it came back at me again.

I looked in bewilderment at how the knife stab didn’t do anything. Looking down at my knife I realized it was bent. I'm screwed.

Its teeth went into my arm instead of somewhere else. Pain flashed through my arm but adreliae powered me as I grabbed it's greasy hair. Realizing that I grabbed its hair it let go trying to claw at my hand but I just held it up away from the ground. Angry angels and pained yelps escaped it as I lifted it from the ground and held it as far as my outstretched hand could go.

Moving over to the window which I opened before to see if I could get down I placed my arm out which was a bloody scratched mess now. As it realized how high it was, its screams of rage and anger turned to fear and helplessness.

As it fell to the ground and made a massive crash as its corpse was now a stain from the impact. Looking down at my ruined hand and the adrenaline left me tears streamed down my face as I moved to the first aid kit. Treating my ruined hand I sat in the corner crying not looking at anything as the pain hurt a fuckin lot.
