Chapter 42 - Meeting Of The Higher-Ups
…
In the meeting room for the higher-ups of the Church Of Chaos, there was an oval marble table and a few miniature holograms of masked figures standing on it.
Except, there was a single living person in the room, dressed in the most exquisite gray uniform, with a noble mitre hat that had the Church Of Chaos insignia, seated directly on a chair at the end of the table, facing the masked figures.
A holographic person with a jade-green mask that had the code-number ‘Two’ embossed on the mask looked up at the person and asked softly,
“Pontiff Jule, what are we still lacking to summon the Unholy One? Given my lacking memory, I remember that we’re still in need of blood from an existence higher than the Ascended stage.”
“You’re correct. That was the only thing stopping us from assuming our grand plan. However, behold! After so many years of waiting, we finally have information of one such existence in our hands!”
Pontiff Jule declared and spread his arms out to further emphasize the fact that they were at long last, one step closer to their grand plan.
Subdued whispers and gasps were heard from the holographic figures as excitement could be seen from their smiles, all except one– Dior Toki.
Dior Toki was wearing a silver mask without a number on it, as he was just at the Bishop Rank. However, his true identity was a member of the Shadow Bureau’s Espionage Unit.
He was sweating profusely and he gave off an forced unnatural smile to blend in and not stand out as he became astute.
‘F*ck, I need to report this as soon as possible. This is too dangerous!’.
“Is that true, Pontiff Jule! Oh, may the Chaos ruin our hearts!”
A masked figure with the code-number, ‘Five’, shouted out with glee as he chanted.
“Alright, settle down. Let me explain the details, half a month ago, we received a report from one of our people regarding an irregularity in the electro-magnetic field that the Shadow Bureau people discovered. They tried their hardest to hide this news but our mole sacrificed his life and relayed this information to us before he got killed!...”

Pontiff Jule explained the fine details further and told them about the potential whereabouts of that being.
“So far, that being has settled down in New Yolk’s Hua Town and apparently, he decided to run an inconspicuous teahouse. I’m sure Bishop Dior has heard about it, would you explain it in detail?”
All of them simultaneously turned to look at the silver masked Dior Toki.
Dior Toki put his nervously trembling hands inside his pocket to prevent them from noticing, he composed himself and tried his best to talk slowly.
“I… I heard news about a certain teahouse… From one of our moles. It was quickly buried… I tried- to find out more- but it was withheld very tightly. I couldn’t dig up any more information.”
“Bishop Dior, why are you talking so slowly like that? What’s wrong?”
The long-haired ‘Two’, asked him in doubt, she did not hold any suspicions of him being a spy at all.
For someone to be able to attend this meeting for the high ranking members of the Church Of Chaos, it was necessary to go through several background and personality checks, it was near impossible for a spy to infiltrate a meeting of this level.
In spite of that, Dior Toki had gotten in– although it was not in the numbered ranks, but it was enough to get him heard and involved.
The reason was because he had been hypnotized and brainwashed by a certain member’s ability years ago from the Shadow Bureau to truly worship the Church Of Chaos’ beliefs.
It was only after a few years had he slowly recalled his original objective, that was how he had attained the Bishop rank initially and bypassed all the checks.
“N-Nothing… I’m just too excited that we’re finally coming closer to achieve our goal!”
Dior Toki gritted his teeth and forced out words that he loathed, alas, he had no choice.
A blue feathered mask figure with the code-number ‘Nine’ looked at him and out of the blue, asked him playfully,
“Ahhh, Bishop Dior, I heard that you have a very talented person under you called Jeff Moon? He killed a whole squad of the Crime Unit, simply spectacular! Can I poach him from you? Hahaha!”.
Dior Toki's fingernails dug into his palm so hard that it bled from being reminded of this massive fatal blunder, he had not planned to do that to his own allies. On the other hand, Jeff Moon had acted on his own accord, it was an enormous scar to his reputation and heart.
Dior Toki had no clue about this happening at all, up until Jeff Moon himself reported to him about this incident only after it had occurred.
He had instructed Jeff Moon to ‘do what you must’, little did he know that he would do that!
Dior Toki had assumed that Jeff Moon would only snoop around, plan and inform him before acting out on it, lives were innocently lost, he hated Jeff Moon but he had no choice.
“I will never do that! Jeff Moon is someone that I’m teaching, don’t think about stealing him away!”
Dior Toki countered the blue masked figure as he shouted out emotionally, but he realized his mistake as he immediately kept quiet.
Nine seemed to have noticed something as his smile widened and laughed, he did not continue speaking.
However, that only made Dior Toki even more anxious, he gulped his saliva hard.
Pontiff Jule broke the awkwardness and issued an order.
“Stop it, we are all fellow believers in the Chaos, although it is good to bring Chaos, it must only be done after our grand plan! Listen– I, Fannes Jule, Pontiff of the Church Of Chaos, issue the final mission before our ultimate goal! Find that existence and do whatever it takes to get his blood! May the Chaos ruin our hearts!”
“We obey, Pontiff! May the Chaos ruin our hearts!”
They did echoed out their acknowledgements, did a salute and their holograph faded away shortly after, the Church Of Chaos was officially on the move.
Nine took off his blue feathered mask after the meeting was over, he then let out a vile laughter and spoke loudly to the Britannian beside him that had a solemn expression.
“HAHAHA! What did I tell you?! Have you seen your 'Bishop Dior'?”
The Brittanian looked at the gloating bald old man with chocolate skin tone in front of him and responded.
“Sir 'Nine', I have seen Bishop Dior’s actions. I believe in you fully now, aside from that; may I ask why did you not expose him right there and then?”
The Brittanian was Jeff Moon. It seemed like the two were onto Dior Toki, but the person in question was oblivious to it.
“Where’s the fun in that?! Isn’t it much more fun if he dies without knowing that he was exposed? Hahaha! Let us plan how to tackle that monster in that teahouse!”
Jeff Moon saw the entire meeting through the holograph, he nodded in agreement and just remained quiet.
