The Void.
Endless destruction and chaos.
Somewhere in that emptiness however is a single point of infinite mass, the Singularity, squirming and struggling against the Void pressing in all around it. After having been in constant conflict for so long that time had no meaning, something finally changed. With an incomprehensibly loud BANG, the Void gave way and the Singularity expanded in all directions at inconceivable speeds creating matter and existence.
In the wake of the genesis of the Universe superheated matter was left behind. In certain places this matter would collect itself into larger and larger pieces, eventually creating the first stars and planets. Leading to the formation of the first solar systems, which grouped together forming galaxies.
As time passed some of these planets eventually were capable of forming life. Some very simple, some much more advanced. One such planet, a mostly blue globe with green spread throughout, was home to one of these more advanced life forms, called humans. These humans had advanced far enough to leave the planet of their birth and colonize their moon and the two planets closest to it.

However, against certain things, no matter how advanced or prepared you are, destruction is inevitable. Suddenly, the sun exploded outwards in every direction, annihilating everything in the solar system. This was not the Sun’s transition into a red giant at the end of its lifespan, it is still far too soon for that. This was something else.
Where the Sun once stood, there was something no human would ever believe. However, there was no life form within multiple light years to bear witness to it.
The only other thing that survived the annihilation were the inhabitants’ Souls - inviolable, even by the Void. These Souls, now left with no physical body, were dispersed into the Universe to find a new purpose. Some were simply left to drift endlessly in the emptiness of space. Some were reborn in new bodies on other planets that are inhabited by life. A lucky few, however, had the fortune of being involved in the birth of a new star.
