Jay’s eyes widened as the punch sunk into his face. His body sprang back and hit the wall. Blood gushed out from his nose, dripping on the floor.

Jay slowly stood up, breathing loudly. He glared at Eli. “You’re dead,” Jay grits his teeth. He pushed himself from the wall and clenched his fist. Jay threw a punch at Eli; Eli’s eyes widened. He leaned to the side, dodging the punch. The punch caught a few of his hair strands.
Eli clenched his fist and threw a flimsy punch. What’s this punch? It sucks! Jay thought as the punch inched closer. Yet… why is it so fast? Jay’s body was sent back to the wall, and his eyes rolled back.
“That was… so cool!” One of the students squealed. The teacher finally came into the room, and his eyes widened. “Eli Gray, principal office, now!” The teacher slammed his textbook on the podium.
“But I was just—“
“Office! Now!”
Eli’s shoulders slumped as he walked towards the principal office.

Eli entered the door; the principal was sitting on a chair. His hair was gray with no hair on the top, only the sides. He had thin-frame glasses and a suit. He looked up to see Eli.

“Mr. Gray, sit down.”
Eli sat down at the chair. The room was a bit dark, only illuminated by the sunlight. “Mr. Anderson, I was trying to defend myself. He wanted—“
“But you’re the one who initiated the attack, right?”
“I didn’t! You can ask anyone in the class!” Eli’s eyes widened at the accusations.
“I will host a conference meeting with your guardian. Here’s the paper,” Mr. Anderson handed him a conference paper. “Run along. Mr. Hughes will also receive a conference.”
Eli grabbed the paper and looked at it. Shit. Eli thought as he stood up and walked outside. He saw Jay leaning on the wall with a smug smile. A bandaid was plastered on his nose.
“You’re fucked,” Jay whispered into his ear before entering the principal office.
As Eli walked towards class, he was stopped by one of the Seniors. “Hey, man! That was pretty cool; you should hang out with us at the Karaoke place,” the Senior slung his arm around Eli’s neck.
“I…I—uhm, no thanks…” Eli’s body trembled slightly. He fidgeted with his hands. He couldn’t afford to hang out with guys like these.
“Cool, cool,” the Senior slapped his back. Eli tumbled forward before catching himself on the wall.

Eli stopped in his tracks, and he looked behind. He saw the Senior’s form slowly disappearing into the halls. Eli turned his heels and chased the Senior down.
“Wait—I’ll come!” Eli stopped behind the Senior, his hands on his knees, panting.
“I knew you wouldn’t resist. We’ll meet you at the gates. I’m Kenneth Smith,” Kenneth ruffled Eli’s hair before walking off. Eli quickly went to class.
The lesson drones on, and hours passed as Eli switched classes to take his subjects. The bell finally rang, and the students poured out of the classroom. Eli packed up his stuff and went outside. Kenneth was already waiting.
“Hey, kid!” Kenneth greeted as he approached Eli. “Let’s go, there’s some girls too,” Kenneth slung his arm around his neck as he snickered.
“Should I leave my backpack at home?” Eli questioned as they walked side to side.
“Nah,” Kenneth answered as he pulled out a cigarette. He lights it up and takes a long drag. He suddenly slapped Eli’s back. “Loosen up, you know how to fight, have some confidence.”
Eli grabbed the straps of his backpack. He looked around until they arrived at the karaoke place. Eli’s heart started to thump; they walked through the halls until they entered the room. The room immediately smelled like cigarettes and liquor.

Eli looked at the hover blue translucent screen. He didn’t have a proper chance to review his power. Is this a game thing? Eli questioned as Kenneth made him sit down.
“This is my new friend! He knows how to fight,” Kenneth bragged as he slung his arms around Eli’s neck.
I don’t know how to fight at all! Eli panicked inside his head. Eli scanned the room. There are girls and guys; some smoking and drinking.

Eli’s heart sank. His body is very stiff.
“I uhm, I had to go to the bathroom!” Eli prompted as he stood up and rushed to the bathroom.
“Sure!” Kenneth smiled as Eli left.
“Where did you get a loser like him?” One of the girls asked as she took a long drag from her cigarette.
“He kicked the shit out of the rich kid, Jay. I despised that bastard. He thinks he’s so high and mighty cause he has the money. I guess this is a way for me to say thanks. I’ll go check on him. That loser is probably shitting his pants,” Kenneth stands up and stretches.
“What do I do!” Eli bites his nail as he looks in the bathroom mirror. Open. Eli thought, but nothing happened. Open system? Eli questioned as he looked in the mirror, worries etched across his face.

SSS potential? Eli ponders as he looks at his stats. I’m really pitiful. I even have the title [Loser]. Eli sighed as he ran his hand through his black locks. Time to get my reward, I guess. Eli tapped on the [Quest] to receive his reward.
A [Bronze Card] hovered in front of him. An exclamation mark was in the middle, with gears surrounding the cover. He tapped the hovering card; the cover started to shed. Eli’s eyes widened as he took a step back.

The bathroom door swung open.
“You okay there, Eli?” Kenneth’s lips curled into a smirk as he leaned on the doorframe.
