"Card! Card! Hey Cardin, Wait up!"
Walking down the Bullhead Docks in the early afternoon, A Pair of young men were searching for a specific airship that would take them to where they needed to go.
One of the men, Tall and broad-shouldered, huffed with annoyance as the shorter man pestered him.
The second, shorter man, held a thin smirk on his face, his eyes which always made him look frowning were sparkling with excitement as he walked beside his taller friend.
"Not Cool not to wait, Card, What would have happened if I was a poor girl who simply wanted help getting directions?" The shorter man smirked at his tall friend, his dark blue hair was combed backward, highlighting his thin facial features. On his back rested the axe-headed blade of a halberd without the pole.
"Someone who was lost wouldn't have called me out by name, Sky," The Taller man answered, his burnt orange hair combed backward with a small peak at the front, A heavy black mace rested on his hip, a red crystal in between the spikes of the mace. On his other hip sat a black and orange revolver, designed to fire .50 Action Express Bullets.
A Copper Bird was etched on its side.
The two men were none other than Cardin Winchester and Sky Lark, two promising huntsmen in training on their way to Beacon Academy.
Or at least they would be if they knew where that damn bullhead was.
"Bah, You're no fun, you know that?" Sky asked jokingly as he spun on his heels, walking backward with his face looking at his best friend, "But seriously, what would you have done if a cute chick stopped and asked you for directions?" He pulled his arms around himself as he hugged his torso, squirming in place with a lewd smile on his face.
"I would have told her to check her scroll," Cardin gruffly answered, ignoring the groan coming from his friend.
"Come on! You're telling me that if a cute girl came up to you and asked you for help, you wouldn't help her?" Sky turned forward, placing his elbow on Cardin's right shoulder as he leaned toward his friend.
Cardin shook his head at his friend's childish question before answering, "If I'm in a place where a stranger can come and ask me for something, I probably have someplace to go, I don't need some civilian wasting my time,"
"But what if her tits were really big?" Sky asked innocently, only for Cardin to place his palm over his face and push him away, tripping the shorter teen.
"You're right," Sky mumbled as he shook himself and straightened back up, "You're an ass man through and through,"
"Sky, Stop messing around," Cardin said as the duo reached a section of the docks, seeing a crowd of teenagers making their way into several airships, the weapons on their backs and hips painting them as fellow Huntsmen in training, "We've found the Bullhead,"
Stolen novel; please report.
"All thanks to my expert navigation skills no doubt," Sky said smugly as he nodded, chin in hand, only for Cardin to scoff and shake his head once more.
"Let's catch ourselves some spots," Cardin said as he resumed walking, heading toward one of the emptier-looking airships, "It's a fifteen-minute flight, And I'm not planning on standing," The large teen grimaced momentarily at the thought of standing in a flying bus for fifteen minutes.
As the duo made their way onto the Air Bus and sat down.
It wasn't long after the ship took flight, that Sky tapped Cardin on the shoulder and pointed at another person.
"Look over there," He whispered loudly, pointing at a red-haired student standing in the corner of the bullhead, a circle of space surrounding her as the rest of the people seemed to stay away from her, "That's Pyrrha Nikos!"
Cardin looked at the girl for a moment before turning back to his friend, "So?"
"So?" Sky whispered loudly again, catching the attention of nearby teens, "She's Mistral's regional champion," He leaned in closer, "Four years in a row!"
Cardin put his palm over Sky's face and pushed him back once again, wiping his hand on his sleeve once he felt something wet touch it, "I don't care if she Mistral's regional champion ten years in a row," he shook his head again, "And how many times do I have to tell you to stop licking my hand?!" He asked as he scowled at his friend in disgust.
"I would stop licking your hand if you stopped putting it on my face all the time!" Sky whispered loudly once more, the nearby eavesdroppers now turning away and ignoring the duo once they realized the topic of conversation shifted.
"I'd stop putting my hand over your face if you stopped leaning in all the time," Cardin scoffed and shook his head once more.
As the duo kept talking, changing topics in meaningless conversation, the holographic television that was playing the news on the Holo-Windows of the airship changed to a recording of a well-known Huntress and staff member of Beacon Academy.
"Hello, and welcome to Beacon. My name is Glynda Goodwitch. You are among a privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy! Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world." The cabin quieted down as every student listened to the speech before the Recording turned off, leaving the teenagers to whisper among themselves in excitement.
Cardin scoffed at the generic speech, assuming to himself that it was probably recorded years ago and was simply played over and over, before standing up and stretching his back.
"So this is it, isn't it Card?" Sky asked with a whisper as he too stood up, stretching his arms forward as he interlocked his fingers, hearing the satisfying pops coming from his body, "The start of our next big step?"
Cardin scoffed and shook his head at his friend's words, but even he couldn't keep a small smile from gracing his face.
"Don't be so dramatic," He said as he felt the airship touch down on the solid ground, engines cooling as the doors to the airship opened into a ramp leading outside.
As the two boys stepped off the ramp and touched the ground of Beacon's airship docks, they couldn't help but admire the towering castle that stood before them.
"Beacon Academy, Here we come!" Sky yelled loudly with a cheer, receiving concerned looks from nearby students before they ignored him and returned to their walk.
And for once, Cardin didn't feel the need to shake his head at his best friend's antics.
He still scoffed at him though.
"Don't stand in front of the ramp," Cardin chastised Sky as he slapped him lightly on the back, The two boys moved away so as to not block the path to the people behind them, and started walking towards the main hall of the Academy.
Ready to start their next big step.
