It was not too long ago.
Maybe a month ago.
It was the time I started seeing them at school.
Those tall creatures.
The first time was the worst. I was going from one class to another, and there it was. Just standing there.
I started running as fast as I could to the bathroom, I couldn't catch my breath. Everybody was talking about me.
And that was a problem: that everybody was talking about me and not the creature.
A few days passed and they became our daily visitors.
Sometimes it was just one creature, other times it would be more.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
But they would always do the same thing, no matter if it was just one or more.
They would lean on the wall and observe students.
The fact that nobody could see them but me was frightening.
I wanted to tell someone about them, to try to warn other students of them.
But I didn't. What if nobody believed me, I would just make a fool of myself and be the laughingstock of the whole school.
So I stayed quiet.
There were several times I tried to make contact with them.
But they would pay no attention to me.
I realized if no one could see them how stupid I must have looked talking to the wall.
Should I just ignore them or maybe I shou-
...
I felt something dull hitting my head
"Hey, you"
I turned around. There was a girl walking fast trying to catch up with.
I'm sure she doesn't mean me. I have zero friends at school and no social life outside of it.
Why would someone popular and liked at school talk to me?
So I just kept walking.
But she caught up to me, gave me a shoulder bump expressing her anger because I just kept walking.
She was standing right in front of me now trying to catch her breath.
"Why...ha....did you...ha...keep walking"
"Can I help you with something"
"Look I want to make this short, I don't want anyone to see me talking to you"
"ok"
"You can see them too, right? I saw you trying to talk to one of them today"
