There are a lot of memes out there that have funny origins. Yet people take them too lightly. I took one anime meme lightly and it turned out to be true. It’s called Truck-kun. In Japanese society calling someone kun at the end is a less polite way of addressing someone. You should give respect to trucks. They are powerful tools. 

I died while partying too hard at a nomikai. Well, not at the business party. I won’t blame my death on the izakaya. I blame myself for forgetting to look both ways. I don’t have the best drinking habits. I also have a lot of pressure from the company to drink. 

I am a mixed-race person. My dad was an American. My mom was Japanese. And being half and half has its own stereotypes. Like I am not a lightweight. But even I can’t down a whole bottle of sake and be perfectly fine. Our neighbors to the north might be more used to heavy drinking. As for Japan, most pure Japanese people are lightweights. 

After dying of a horrible beast known as truck-kun, I just woke up. At least I think I did. I have a foggy memory of talking to a man clothed in white. I am now a baby—a fat baby at that. I remember being told I was a skinny baby in Japan. 

I want to take this life a little slow. Or should I do more with my life? I wasn’t in a dead-end job per se. I just didn’t do much for the first few years. I just wasn’t motivated to move up the corporate chain. As a programmer for Circle Equinox. If you are at the bottom level like I was. In the first few years of working, you get a small bonus. You also get free games if you work on those games. 

I wanted to move up the corporate ladder because of the chance to travel. I have been to America a few times and hunted all kinds of animals there. I only visited the midwest but I did like the nature out there. When I was young I always begged to go to America to see and feel the wildlife there. 

My mom was against going there a lot. We had the money but she just doesn’t like being away from her side of the family. She also doesn’t like being away from any of her kids for a long time. Meaning I have to stay in Japan for the rest of my life. Well, that is not going to be a problem. I died and now I am in nature. A new problem arrived.

I am in a new world. And I am in nature but I am bored as hell now. It has been one day since I arrived. When I woke up I was already in a camp. I had a tent, pot, pan, kitchen utensils, a fire pit, and even a blanket. A message screen appeared before me in both Japanese and English. I went through the first screen unto the next and so on.

From the messages, I got a good grasp of the situation. I am in a world where magic and swords are the main ways of fighting. There are other means but magic is the most effective for killing. I wish I was making it up, but magic is just proficient in killing. It can also heal but there isn’t much use utilitarianly.

I also found out I have three skills. They aren’t the best skills but they can do a lot of good for me. The skills are Small Inventory, Card Caster, and Idle.

Small Inventory gives me a small different dimensional space. About 5x5x5 feet. There is a system called favoriting that doesn’t appear in the room. It’s like it goes to a new dimension and I can access those always and even when I rebirth I still have them. I have a limited amount of favorites which is about 10 currently. 

Now Card Caster is similar to a card game. I can draw from a deck and use the cards in my hand as long as I met their requirements. There are different flag cards and each of them has a pre-generated deck based on my level. There are currently three worlds that I can use. I can only choose one of them a day. Every day the deck generates more cards. 

The current deck size is 100 cards. I am allowed to draw a card every five minutes. But I am not allowed to have more than 10 cards in my hand. Every day I start with 6 cards in hand. There are multiple card types. The only ones I know are Items, Monsters, Spells, and secrets. I forget what card game these are based on but they are usually cards that are used as traps for your opponent. 

Idle is the weird one I am very familiar with. Idle is a word that casual phone games used to show that you could leave the game and still gain rewards. This skill is exactly that except for one thing. It is brutal and unfair! I get .001 points per click. I can click on this idle screen and I can mine “skill points”. And to get my first upgrade it cost me three skill points. 

There are also more currencies within the idle skill. There are also birth tokens, Wife Tokens, and Angelic tokens. I can’t read into the other tokens. I tried my best to look it up in the help menu. I can’t be bothered to look into it too deeply. I want to relax a little bit. 

However, I am a man and I feel like I just have to do some work. I get why people would want a slow life in a new world. A break is good now and then but I need to get working. Even if I start out doing dead-end work, Improving myself is what I want to do. I can’t be here for too long. 

I do have a bit of a safety net. This camp is safe for three days. No monsters or humans or whatnot can enter this area. What can be animals that are more prey orientated? I was able to catch fish. I have a small stream near me. It’s not in the safe zone but if I were in danger I would just go back to camp. 

I know animals can enter if they are still alive too. I saw a rabbit that was black go by near my tent. I have been here for a day and I have a five-day protection span. I think I will relax for one more day. On the third day, I will go out and explore. I will be armed.

I came to this world with a basic adventure sword. After finding out about the favoriting system I favored it right away. Even if this breaks, if I can get it again then I might as well. I don’t know how effective it can be but I need to make sure I can always start with something. 

A day has passed and I can tell you already that I had enough camping for one day. I don’t have any books. Or a computer or a phone. I do have the idle screen that I can click but after clicking it two thousand times I gave up. I must look for another way to raise skill points in this skill. My next upgrade is only a micro upgrade to the idle click I can do. Instead of getting .001 points, I would get .002 skill points.

    Not worth the grind. I am hoping experience or money solves my problem. For now, I just feel the occasional breeze and read the Cards from my card skill. They aren’t that useful right now. Some weak monsters and some weak item cards. I do have one potential good card. It is a spell card that gives me 100 gold coins. How good is that card? I won’t be able to tell until I find out how this economy works.
