Chapter 11
Watching from a distance with a torn wing and a serious burnt wound on its tarsal was the angel like abyss creature. “Enough, how dare you ignore my existence after inflicting such wounds upon me. I the proud Fazua created by the ‘Mind’ itself was reduced to such a state!” Raising a finger towards them, “State your name and what is your purpose in hindering me, I can see you are different from those pests that had escaped me.” These words may seem strong but he was not fooling anyone, it was clear this foul being was stalling for time.
Norzak sensed something was off but pushed it aside, even if his foe was stalling for time, he couldn’t do anything at this moment in his current state. “Names Norzak Frizen, as you can see I’m not exactly a living person, standing before you is a 7th circle Lich so do not flatter yourself.” the Lich spoke with a smirk as a idea popped inside its head.
Beckoning Garen to come closer, he wanted to convey his plan for the next strike.
Upon hearing Norzak was a 7th circle Lich, the angel like Furzua’s taunting attitude changed immediately. The highest level a mortal has ever reached in history was only 8th circle; the realm of demi god was 10th circle. Fazua was not a mindless meat shield like most of its brethren. The ‘Heart’ was the core of the Abyss race, a queen in a hive if you will. All of his brethren’s were born from this single entity, the strength and intellect of each individual was strictly controlled from birth. Like a hive of insects, certain roles are given and carried out and his role was special. With enhanced intellect and enormous strength and power, Fazua was one of the select few in the first invasion force to lead and command the many legions of Abyss monsters.
Upon reaching the undead Lich, Garen listened intently to the plan but a part of him just wanted to run wild at his foe. Never once did Garen imagined this Fazua was able to communicate with others, there was never any clues indicating they are capable of speech. To be looked down upon like this out of the blue, his unyielding will filled his blood at the thought of the enemy. Maybe it was the blood talking but he wanted to inflict the most painful and brutal blows he can manage at this moment.
“Listen Garen, I will distract him with my attacks and you will go from the side and strike him from his blind spot in the back. This is our only chance left; I do not have enough strength to defeat this enemy in my current state.” Norzak looked him in the eyes as he spoke, showing how serious this situation was. “Use the sword I gifted you, I have spent years enchanting the metal, even in your hands, the sword is still lethal to anything it touches…” Somehow the last part didn’t sound too convincing even to Norzak but he had no choice but to leave it to fate.

Before Garen could even reply, a flash of lightning was shot towards them by the enemy but was repelled by Norzak’s barrier. Surprised by the sudden attack, he knew it was now or never. Following the plan, Garen left the Liches side as he made his way around. Norzak was definitely keeping his words in the plan as he let loose barrages of endless bolts of spells. Every element of nature was hurled at Fazua, Lightning, Fire, Water, Wind, even Dark magic was conjured into Norzak’s spells, pinning their foe in a defensive formation.
In mere seconds, Garen was already behind the enemy, readying to pounce at the foe. With his sword aimed true, he lunged with every ounce of strength he had in his legs and pierced straight through Fazua’s back and out of the chest. Normally one would be overjoyed at stabbing a weapon into its enemy, yet the foe was eerily quiet. There was no scream of pain or curses of vengeance; Fuzua was silent as the night. ”What’s going on, I clearly hit him right in the middle of his spine?” Sensing the situation was entirely wrong, Garen pulled his sword out, stepping backward to gain some distance.
“GET AWAY FROM THAT THING!” The usual calm and self-assuring Norzak was nowhere to be seen. As the ancient Lich stumble with every step he took, his mummified face was growing ever more dreadful.
Fuzua’s body immediately expanding like a smoking balloon as its limbs exploded with greenish blood spurting into the sky. Any semblance of the once angel like appearance of Fuzua was gone. In its place was a smoldering blob of gooey slime radiating uncontrolled energy readying to ignite.
“You shall all perish ignorant fools” was the last words the gooey mass spoke before waves of energy pounded into the very depths of the ground.
Garen didn’t know what to expect but one thing was certain, he needed to grab Norzak and bail the hell out of this place! Returning to his friends side, Garen lifted the undead Lich in a princess style and sprinted on his two legs to lower grounds. It did not matter where they flee to, anywhere would provide better safety then facing this foe.
Close in their tails, the ground was cracking in every direction as flaming lava spewed from the very depths of the earth’s crust. It would seem the entire region they were in had a vein of magma moving through the underground, that would explain the piping water steam in the underground ravine. With the sudden influence of Fuzua’s powers, the once stable magma has boiled out of control, like a volcanoes erupting at its peak.
“Ahhhhhhhh’ were the only words coming out of Garen’s voice.
