I’ve had a crappy life since the day I was born to the day I died. Who would’ve thought that this luck would continue after my death.
I was born in Norway in a small village called Hell. No I’m not joking I was born in Hell. Now while that might not have been so bad by itself, I was named by my Chinese parents San. Again, ordinarily this would not have been a problem, however my surname was Tan. For those of you who do not see why this was a series of unfortunate coincidences, you’re the first. Sadly the name seemed to ring true, I was closely tied with.. the departed ever since I was born, my mother died giving birth to me, and my dad slowly passed away due to an unhealthy mix of alcohol and soul crushing grief. All the animals stayed far away from me and my first few friends died in horrible accidents. I never made another. Now it is pointless to bore you with such details of my past life, sufficient to say, I was struck by a car in the middle of the winter, (Hell is actually quite a cold place, never failing to freeze over in the winter) As I laid dying for several hours, my blood had long been frozen, sealing the wound but also dooming me to a slow death. I thought that this would be the end as I looked once more at the spiraling snowflakes, slowly closing my eyes while drifting off into eternal sleep...
Well that was what was supposed to happen. Instead I opened my eyes and saw a gigantic yet elegantly carved stained glass window. With mesmerizing colors it took time before I managed to look at anything else. After I gather my wits, I found myself in a church surrounded by other… prisons? There was a large but beautiful woman lying beside me, when I tried to call out I found I was unable to, and instead starting bawling at the top of my lungs. As she woke, I was startled to find her eyes the most strikingly green color I have ever seen, giving her a mysterious but calming presence. She momentarily looked surprised, I realized that instead of her being large I was simply small as she lifted me up and called what I assumed to be my name. I was in shock as I was hammered by three increasingly undeniable facts. One I’m a baby. Second I’m a girl. Third my full name is Lucy Fir. Luck just isn't on my side.
