Chapter1: Records

> [Classified Research Facility – Level 24 Laboratory]

The cold hum of machines and the rhythmic clatter of keyboards were the only sounds in the sterile lab. Data streamed across the monitors—just another experiment for the world, but for two children, it was their entire reality.

Dr. Helena Voss adjusted her glasses, scanning the latest results. "Subjects 07 and 08… Their power levels are rising rapidly." Her tone was neutral, but a flicker of unease lingered beneath her words.

Dr. Marcus Hale leaned back in his chair, his gaze fixed on the screen. "Especially 07. Her fire abilities… They're different from the others."

A video feed flickered to life on one of the monitors.

Luna—codename Ild—stood in the middle of a training room, her battle suit torn and scorched. Her breath was ragged, and flames crackled from her fingertips, casting a flickering glow across the dimly lit space.

Dr. Voss studied the footage. "Her body is highly resistant to extreme temperatures. But her emotional stability is a problem. If she loses control…" She trailed off, her expression darkening.

"She becomes a liability," Dr. Hale finished.

Another screen lit up, showing Alex—codename Vann. Unlike Luna, he was calm, almost serene, as he manipulated water molecules with precise control. His power was not chaos—it was balance.

"Alex is far more stable," Voss admitted. "But we need to test the effects of the rage injections."

Hale narrowed his eyes. "If he loses control, he could become just as unstable as Luna."

Dr. Voss reached out and pressed a button, shutting off the recording. The hum of the machines filled the silence. "We need to keep them in check. They're not just soldiers. They're weapons. And if our weapons fall into the wrong hands…"

Dr. Hale exhaled sharply. "That won't happen."

But even as he said it, they both knew—the next experiment would change everything.

Alex & Luna – The Beginning

Fourteen years ago, war stole everything from them.

Luna and Alex, siblings separated by eight years, lost their home to the fires of conflict. They were taken to an orphanage, a place meant to be safe. For four years, they clung to each other, the last fragments of a family that no longer existed.

Then, salvation arrived in the form of a couple offering to adopt them. A fresh start. A new home.

But it was all a lie.

The couple wasn’t looking for children to love. They were looking for test subjects.

Now, the only thing Luna and Alex had left—their only purpose—was to protect each other.

No matter the cost.
