3 | Rock Slam

[E-Rank Horde of Goblins]

Gunnar’s eyes widened at the army of Goblins.

That’s a lot of Goblins. There are five Goblins in total.

The Goblins roared as they rushed at Gunnar. Gunnar clenched the rock tightly. Gunnar dodged the first Goblin, bashing the rock on its skull. The other Goblin leaped while screeching.

Gunnar shifts his weight, slamming the rock on the Goblin’s face.

I can’t defend them all!

The three Goblins surrounded Gunnar. The other two stood up, joining the other three. The five Goblins attacked, and Gunnar bashed the rock on the injured Goblin’s skull, killing it.

The four Goblins sliced Gunnar’s skin. Gunnar clenched his teeth as blood dripped to the floor. The Goblins sneered at Gunnar’s injuries.

I’ll get mutilated at this point. What should I do? What should I do!

The four Goblins prepared their attack, clenching their dagger tightly.

Wait! Stats! If I say close system, it would close! I need to say vice versa!

“Open system!”

Gunnar tapped the agility stat frantically.

[Skill Points: 0]

[Agility: 25]

That’s what skill points do! I get it now.

“Close system.”

The Goblins leaped, pointing their dagger at Gunnar. Gunnar dodged their attacks, a hairsbreadth away from slashing his skin. Gunnar slams the rock into the injured Goblin’s face.

The Goblin’s skull hits the nearby tree. Blood spurts from its face, landing on Gunnar’s face.

That’s two. This should get easier.

The three Goblins’ eyes widened before rushing. One leaped, but Gunnar slammed the rock onto the Goblin’s face, cracking its skull as it hit the ground. The other Goblin’s blade shot out to pierce Gunnar’s ribs. Gunnar bashed the rock on the Goblin’s cranium.

The last Goblin shrieked before turning its heel and running away. Gunnar dropped the bloodied rock and grabbed the fallen Goblin’s dagger.

“You can’t run, beast,” Gunnar’s lips curled into a smirk as he threw the dagger.

The dagger blitzes through the air until it pierces the Goblin’s head. The Goblin tumbles on the grass, screeching.

Gunnar looked at the translucent screen before it dissolved like a mist. Gunnar continued to walk.

There are probably other beasts. I need to be careful.

Gunnar’s eyes widened as he encountered an oval-shaped entrance. The interior and exterior radiated mana. Gunnar’s instincts told him to stick his hand in. Gunnar’s hand distorts as it makes contact with the entrance.

“What’s this?”

Gunnar steps into the entrance, entering the real world. Gunnar’s breath hitched in his throat as he looked around. Tall buildings surrounded him. The sky’s hue is dark as stars shine down.

Just then, a metal box with wheels pulled up, stopping in front of Gunnar. Three guys emerged from the metal box.

A moving metal box? It has windows…

A bulky man with armor and a beard approached.

“Hey! This was our Gate! What’re you doing?! My guild paid for this Gate,” The man clenched his teeth.

Guilds? What?

The man’s hand shot out to grip Gunnar’s shoulder. Suddenly, the man finds himself in a dark void. Water started to rise, engulfing the man’s shin.

“What?! Huh?! Where am I?!”

The man looked around as his heart pounds. The man looks straight before falling back. Something emerges from the water. Its exterior is painted red. It was translucent. It formed a woman’s face, no eyes nor mouth.

Its mouth was agape as red liquid spilled onto the water. The woman’s hair danced with the imaginary breeze.

“Snap out of it, Gerald!” The other man yelled out.

Gerald blinked rapidly, finding himself on the ground. He slowly tilts his head, meeting Gunnar’s gaze.

“A monster!” Gerald scrambled to get up.

“What did you do to Gerald?!” The other man unsheathed his sword.

Gunnar’s eyes widened as the situation escalated. Gunnar’s heart pounds as his lips curl into a grin. He grabbed his tattered brown tunic, ripping it. He tossed the tunic to the side.

“You have no weapon!” The man lunged with his sword.

Gunnar dodged the slash, shifting his weight and hammering a punch to the man’s face.

“You forgot it’s three of us,” the other man chanted a spell.

A glob of fire formed at the man’s palm, growing.

“Fireball!” The man yelled out as the fireball blitzed through the air.

Gunnar’s eyes widened as he raised his arm, blocking his face. The fireball sends him flying, crashing into a brick wall. Gunnar grits his teeth as his skin sizzles.

It hurts like hell! It’s been a while since a spell damaged me…

Gunnar stands up, panting. Gunnar’s wounds open slightly, letting trickles of blood slither down. The man prepared another fireball.

Another metal box with wheels stopped next to them. A man emerged from the metal box wearing a suit.

“Stop fighting!” The man spoke as he adjusted his red tie.

“Please, refrain from fighting in public. You are? I haven’t seen you before,” the man approached Gunnar.

The man’s eyes roamed on Gunnar’s appearance with a critical eye.

“I am Shiloh Moore. Please to meet you. Can I see your Hunter ID, please,” Shiloh extends his hand.
