A New Day

Ch. 3 A New Day

When I awoke the sun was already pretty high in the sky.

(I must have passed quite a few hours sleeping, it must be late morning now or even noon. It's not into the afternoon yet though luckily.)

"The piece of shit finally awakes."

I look in the direction of the voice. She's laying there on her belly, still tied, wrapped from shoulder to toe in rope or vine or what ever it is.

(Wonder how it was sleeping like that. Definitely not good I'd bet.)

"Yeah, actually I don't think he's going to be getting back up."

Her face contorts in rage while I look at the body that's head is now a pile of mush on the ground. The suns been beating on the bodies for a while so the stench of rot is really strong now.

"Let's move away from the smell atleast." (Altan)

"Sure, just untie me and we can be on our way."

I look around and see a blade about the size of a machete on the side of the man I killed that I hadn't noticed in the heat of the moment. I grab it and walk towards her.

Her face begins to show signs of fear while I stand right in front of her with the blade and I place the flat side of it under her chin and lift up her head and look into her eyes and say.

"If you try anything you'll end up like them."

I look at her sisters and fathers bodies, then I cut the ropes and have her put her hands behind her back to tie them together. I then tell her she can stand up and while grabbing her forearm just below the elbow she gets on to her to her knees and then to her feet with my aid.

"So which direction should we go?" (Altan)

"If you keep heading east we'll both be made slaves since my father won't be with us. If you head north we'll both be killed immediately since that's the direction of the clan we were banished from. To the west the is largest Clan, which ours is a branch of from the distant past. I've heard some traditions remained from when the ties were closer though. It's claimed they've created their own belief with gods unknown to me and when teaching it to their people they're calling it something like The First Religare and the leaders are all in things called secret societies or brotherhoods. To the south there are many clans, several banded together to form what they are calling civilizations or communities but past them you'll eventually hit the Ice Wall."

(Ice Wall?)

"Oh, you're quite talkative, that's unexpected. You also seem to be quite knowledgeable."

"It was my father who knew the information, I'm just preventing myself being killed or being made into a slave. Well somebody elses slave or a different kind of slave...."

"You're not my slave, you're my tour guide! You volunteered by trying to make me a slave and then trying to kill me when I used my forceful refusal. Isn't repentance fun? Doesn't it make you feel like a better human being. Haha" (Altan)

Her eyes sharpen into a glare and keep my smile from my laugh a moment ago while we stare for a couple more seconds at each other.

"So speaking of Ice Wall. What's that? and what's on the other side?" (Altan)

"The Ice Wall is just like it sounds a wall of ice. The other side of it nobody knows what's there, it's the land of the Primordials, Mankind isn't permitted to go there anymore, they were banished, but there are claims of endless land of green, blue, and every other color luscious food and scenery, along with plants and creatures never seen before and those long since believed to be extinct."

(Sounds like the Flat Earth theory back in my world that gained massive traction due to the restrictions placed on Antarctica, all the lies, lack of photos and abundance of CGI from every space agency on the planet.)

"Hehe"

I let out a small chuckle thinking about the bubbles in space, lack of stars in the videos, videos using a fisheye or similar lens to "show" the curve of the Earth, the camera man who made it onto the moon before Armstrong to take the photo, the tread on the shoes not matching the footprints, Stanley Kubrick admitting in an interview before dying that he directed the moon landing fake, the satellites crashing with balloons attached to them, and my favorite Buzz Aldrin hitting the guy who asked him to swear on the Bible that he went to the moon and instead punches the guy, he then later tells a little girl when asked why they haven't gone back they faked the landing. That was hilarious because thinking about it I could easily lie, put my hand on a stupid book and spout any nonsense I wanted. What you're literally witnessing there is his preconceived conception being questioned causing a reaction called cognitive dissonance, where someone who has a really strong belief so ingrained in their mind their Ego recognizes it as a part of itself and when threatened, which it recognizes questioning it as such, it lashes out violently, you saw it all the time and there was even a slang term used for it called a Karen.

"Well I don't recognize them as my gods and I'm curious as to what's actually there so let's go that way."

"Whatever."

"Yeah, brainwashing tends to give that blah feeling once you lose your enslaver or handler."

I turn and start walking towards the south without looking towards her or caring about her response.

"I'm not brainwashed... I loved my father." she mumbles looking at the ground heading to the south right behind me.

"Stockholm Syndrome." I smirk

(I really hope this doesn't eventually develop into something like the Rescue-Romance Syndrome, Hero Worship, or Transference, like what happens often times in these situations, especially when this is the first time I've ever even considered deprogramming someone, Though I may fail and end up having to kill her, selling her would be fucked up and leaving her alive with a desire for revenge for me would be pretty foolish.)

"What's that?"

"Nothing. Let's just get going. What's your name while I'm thinking about it."

"Sophia."

"Altan."

I look around taking in the nature. I don't recognize any of the plants but the trees are all at least 6 feet thick and stand taller than I can see up while also so thick with leaves they nearly block out the sky, despite this it's still pretty bright here.

Everywhere I look there's plants and they're huge, it's completely incomparable to any of the (rain?)forests I've seen in the past.

It still doesn't appear to be raining or to have rained but the humidity is pretty bad my clothes aren't soaked but they are completely damp. Her what appears to be animal skin, her father mentioned liking human leather but she doesn't seem to have the same sick taste, and some type of poorly processed, probably itchy, hemp or some other plant.

As we walk I ask her a few things about the plants around, I've seen some small rodentish animals but nothing more than that in regards to animal life so I don't ask much about them and instead focus almost completely on the plants.

Some of the plants we talked about were Aristolochia gigantea (Dutchmans Pipe), Dioon spinulosum (Cycad), Piper nigrum (Black Pepper), Gingko Biloba, Cooksonia, Sigillaria, Calamites, and many others, we easily passed a few hours talking about so many plants, walking and talking into the early afternoon.

We grabbed some of the fruit, berries, and other food off the plants while we walked so as to not stop and waste time, of course with her hands tied I had to feed her, but it was actually really easy to find food now that I'm not in the desert.

The water we drank from streams as we passed them, none of them had any containers for water when I searched the bodies and searched her for weapons while she was unconscious.

She doesn't seem as hostile in her responses though I don't think her anger or anything has gone away, even slightly, she has just gotten used to having to respond.

I asked her how long it would take to make it to the wall and she answered probably a few years from here, and that it would probably be another couple weeks or even a month before we even made it out of the forest, she called it a garden of the Primordials, and that at some time tomorrow we'd probably be entering the Guardian of the forests territory and it would become extremely dangerous and I should untie her hands.

I replied with 'I'll think about it but probably not'. I also asked what this Guardian is and she responded with saying it's the Beast created by the Primordials to protect the forest from Man.

She went on to mention many other creatures were also created with the task of managing and protecting the forest but only the Beast has the power to dominate Man.

Every section of life (fields, valleys, mountains, seas, lakes, rivers, forests, etc.) has it's own Guardian appointed to it and their purpose is to keep Man out of certain areas, keep their population below 500 million, and keep Man from bringing species to extinction through Genocidal or as she said extreme methods.

(That population amount is in my world on the Georgia Guidestones to be the desired population level. It was decided by the 'elite' who worship Satan or follow The Old Religion. I think it also mentions how Nature is God on the Stones and in a book like Morals and Dogma or Man and His Symbols or something. Or maybe it was written by Albert Pike, Carl Jung, Carroll Quigley, Manly Hall, or someone similar. Regardless of the specific source I remember that it was a 30th or 31st or above Freemason, which Albert Pike states, in Morals and Dogma, is reserved only for those who worship the true God of Freemasonry, Lucifer, Satan is Nature. He is the ruler of Primal urges or the Beast within, similar to how Zeus transformed into the bull, interesting thing about that, another name for Satan is Bill or Bull. Vowels used to be interchangeable in ancient languages.)

About another hour passes and having run out of questions for the time being I was beginning to get bored.

(I wonder if there's a faster way to travel. I'll ask about it after we leave the guardian alive, based on what she said earlier that might not be so easy.)

Shortly afterwards I saw a couple what looked to be giant anteaters, about 100 yards away, she warned me not to alert it or it'll try and eat us, so we stayed hidden in some thick plants bushy leaves until they left, which was only a few minutes. Apparently they're looking for food right now.

We also saw several other animals as well. Most of them just looked like animals from my world only gigantic, though some I didn't recognize at all and a couple I'd even be willing to say were mythological, though they were tiny and it reminded me of the Tinker Bell Peter Pan Disney shit, but she didn't warn about any of them eating us like she did the anteaters.

I guess we're getting to the part of the forest with habitation now. I asked several questions about the animals as we saw them. She seems to be getting tired of answering all the questions as she now sighed every time before answering the questions. She also was suspicious as to why I know nothing about these creatures, I responded with the typical response in situations like these, 'I'm from a distant land, we have different creatures there'. After that I stopped asking questions.

I stayed silent and passed the rest of the day walking in mostly silence, I asked a couple questions but it was still mostly silence.

It's now early night and we're passing time eating, I moved her tied hands in front of her body rather than behind her back so she doesn't need me to keep feeding her now that we're just sitting here and we passed the rest of the night like that. She fell asleep first, followed by me about an hour later.
