With one word a beloved of the stars was born.
BE and it was.
The starchild is born cradled in a cluster of stars called a nebula. The infant is pure light, innocent of sins, of blemishes. Around the child a multitude of colors formed, made of gas and stardust. It swirls and swirls around the newborn, swaddling the precious being in an infinite, known and unknown. The others, caretakers of the new born, surround their charge. They communicate in the language of the universe of wavelengths, of background radiation, of supernovas and of singularities. They teach the child all that they know and all that they are. The teach the starchild what it means to be, of existence, of the universe, of beginnings and endings. The lessons span mere occurrences yet in those occurrences millions of years pass. Until finally, One by one the caretakers leave , finished with their duty they must now attend to the others.
The nebula no longer surrounds the child, that time has passed. The blankets of gas and stardust fall away. The child must go out on his own, it must go into the quasar. It is guided by the last remaining of the caretakers to the proper destination. The last caretaker is different from the rest. It is alone and always will be, yet within its mass are billions of years of creation, a singularity. The distance between the child and the singularity spans lightyears and in those years information passes. This is the most important of the lessons the caretakers give to the children. It is what takes away their innocence , their childhood. The singularity to every children that goes toward the quasar communicates one word that bears the strength of the very explosion that gave birth to all things: Choose.
The singularity leaves. The newborn is launched towards the darkness of the universe.

Humanity had fallen. It had fallen millennia ago. The last remaining stragglers barely survive in the harsh arid desert the planet had become. In their pallor and struggle and unbeknownst to them, they are the object of a celestial beings curiosity. The starchild's launch sent him to this portion of the universe and there he expanded his consciousness searching and searching for something. It did know why but it did so anyway. The search finally ended with its attention being focused on a tiny pale blue dot with a solar being in the middle that it circles around. From there the child has been watching them before things were written on paper ,from a distance that humanity can never hope to cross, light years and light years away. The child watched humanity go from towns, to villages, from city-states to nation-states. It watches the spread of man from landmass to landmass until on every corner. It watches man evolve along with his tools. From knives and swords to rail guns and atomic missiles and bombs. As it watches, the child evolves too. Light gives way to flesh and over the course of its observation it becomes a simulacrum of a human child.
The centuries passed on and on and until at last man reached its final zenith and the boy stood witness. In this last of man's rise, great machines flooded the earth. The AI of old were discarded after the great missile crises that occurred and the great wars afterwards. Mankind had eliminated all diseases for itself. They could perfect and determine their offpspring's life and genetic features before the baby was even born. There was food abundant and technology had surpassed its plateau and went even further. However, this was not anything new. Man had reached this zenith before, they had done so many many times. It was a cyclical nature of destruction and rebirth; The meridian of man's civilization is always realized and so is its demise immediately after. The ending of the final height was no different than the ending of the last one. A great reckoning came in the form of an explosion and world starts over again. At each of the peaks mankind reaches, it never truly eliminates suffering for all. Even if said suffering is not necessary, the need to accumulate, to devour, and to conquer always resurfaces. The last great explosion paved for the way for man's final nadir, and the child stood witness.
The child back then thought that he was watching the ending of the species and so had closed his eyes and retreated his consciousness from the blue dot.
Only to open them again.
And in that Act of opening and closing Man had built for himself a massive cylindrical rotating spaceship to reach beyond the solar system and into the stars. The spaceship was old, older than any civilization was. It was built by men who dreamt of traversing the stars. They knew that they might never see it yet built it just the same. They never saw it take flight, but the spaceship outlasted them.

The spaceship is home to generations of humans who nothing of flat land and open skies. Entire cultures are created and entire wars fought inside of it. It is all that's left of mankind and it is headed for disaster. A space rock is headed for the ark. It is travelling fast enough to rip through the spaceship is seconds. The years have worn down the defenses on the spaceship and it will not be enough to stop the doom coming towards it.
The child senses the meteor heading towards them and for the first time feels something other curiosity. He feels fear. It is a strange sensation to him. To one such as him that has no need for anything. yet he still feels fear. It is not fear for himself. There was nothing in the universe that could undo him besides gravity, time, and entropy. It was fear for the last remaining humans; the child had learned empathy.
Yet with empathy what is he to do? He does not know what to do from an unfathomable distance away, and with that feeling he learns as so many children do: helplessness. The meteor does not stop. It continues in its destructive arc. The ship advances at its leisuley place, not knowing that its radars are not picking up the death heading towards it and that without evasive maneuvers the weapons are not strong enough to blast away the massive rock.
The starchild is anxious. He believes it is his duty to do something.
A mother picks up her child in the ship. He is crying and needs to be fed.
He expands his consciousness to the vastness of the universe and does what all children do when they come across an insurmountable obstacle. He asks the elders. please help.
The engineer of one of the many greenhouses checks to see if the plants are getting the right amount of oxygen and that the temperatures inside are stable.
Please,please,please,Help.
The schoolchildren are learning about the history of man's first great Artificial intelligence war.
please.
An artist is finally finishing his masterpiece. A piece on wars and famine and decides to scrap it. Thus is the 50th time he's done so.
The universe answers. It will always answer. The child is one of its beloved and each and every single celestial body knows nothing but love for it. Please a place far away, where they can be safe.
A white hole and black hole millions of light years away come come together. They expand their powers. Their consciousness mix and encircle each other. They know love, peace, and safety in each other.
space warps and the universe swallows the ship whole.
The ship's captain. Anma son of Anma the 50th does not know what he is seeing. He infers that he is inside of a corridor. He knows the dimensions of the ship inside and out. His spatial abilities trained into him since birth. He is special. His family had held the ownership of the title Captain for the last 250 years and even amongst them he is lightdistance above. He amazes at how the corridor is just large enough for the ship and a bit more.
He knows what he is inside of;he had studied the physics of it as a child. The many different colors flashing by, a hollowed space where off in the far distance a collage of thunderstorms occur. This must be a worm hole.In this strange occurrence, the thing he wonders about the most is. Why is it here and why is it not collapsing in on itself?
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
The white hole and the back hole radiate their thoughts towards him. They tell the child something that will be true for all of eternity till the inevitable death of the universe. Always.Forever.
The ship comes out the other end of the worm hole and they happen upon a planet that from their infobank determines is slightly larger than man's home planet. Scouter ships, tiny controlled flight units, test the air, test the atmosphere and by a miracle see it is an oxygen based planet and that it is just right for man to survive. It is a planet with three moons and orbits a sun slightly larger than the origin star of Sol. The captain after many days of deliberation with the engineers, scientists, workers, and the military decides to land the ship onto the planet.
The first step for man on another planet. A feeling like no other overwhelms them. There is no more need for artificial light nor rationing. No more wars and conflicts over the small bit of surface on the ship. This is a new start. Away from all of the horrors. Rebirth.
Many begin to cry at this new beginning and the starchild millions of light years away cries alongside them.

The child feels tired. He does not know it yet, but he has become unlike any other of his kind. In his observation he has become closer and closer to man, more than he could he ever have realized. He closes his eyes again for the second time in all of his life from his inception so many millions of years ago .This time not to look away but to sleep, to sleep and dream.
