After noticing their respective weapons she swiped her hand across her ring and a dagger and a set of twin swords made of wood appeared in her grasp.
“Begin.” After both Anna and Aegon had switched to wooden weapons Miss Julia's voice sounded the beginning of the fight.
Tap
Tap
Tap
Anna instantly ran in Aegon's direction with a knife in hand, keeping her body close to the ground her heels made quick “Tap” noises on the floor, the sound was coming faster and faster, she was still accelerating.
Aegon was still in the same place with both hands criss crossed atop his head, ready to take out his swords at any moment.
When Anna arrived within his weapons’ reach he slashed with his right handed sword making the small girl turn abruptly to escape the swords’ range.
A staring contest ensued as both fighters were measuring their options.
“She has the advantage when it comes to overall speed but he has a larger reach, he also seems to only use one of his swords most likely because of a lack of practice with using both at the same time, it has always been a hard skill to master, at least he still has some brains left deciding to focus on using only one.” Miss Julia commented from the sidelines in a loud voice so that the entire class could hear.
Light murmur was heard and some faint laughs followed.
Aegon had his back towards the seats so he didn't see their expressions but he knew they were probably mocking him for his choice.
[Maybe it was a bad choice...]
A sour look flashed briefly on his face.
[But I made my choice and I will stick with it, even if I only use my left hand occasionally or even if I don't use it at all, I will still keep two swords strapped to my back for the rest of my life!]
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
A sly smile replaced his previous sour look instantly.
[Even if the second sword is useless it still looks pretty damn cool, I bet that those bastards are only laughing at me because they are jealous of my heroic look.]
[*Sigh*. I almost want to be them and see my heroic-looking back.]
Breaking the standoff, Aegon rushed towards his opponent slashing madly in Anna's direction.
She was prepared and managed to dodge every single attack even if sometimes barely so.
Rolling sideways to dodge yet another wide slash from Aegon she was now in his blind side, taking this opportunity she lunged at his back while he was still turning because of his slash.
A disappointed look could be seen on Miss Julia's face. “ That was stupid, attacking madly withouth a plan wont get you anywhe-”
Aegon, who had kept a crazed expression while madly slashing, dropped the act and a big smirk replaced his previous expression.
Pulling his second sword out of its scabbard, he used his momentum and turned into a two bladed hurricane at just the right time.
Thud
Anna couldn't stop herself in time and was hit in the head with one of his swords, she fell on the ground and silence descended into the amphitheater.
Aegon stopped spinning and made his way towards Anna at a relaxed pace.
She had her head turned to the ground, her knife lying a few meters away and Aegon was standing quietly next to her, casting a shadow over her body.
He nodded his head at Kuro who, in a relaxed pace of his own, grabbed the dagger and laid it next to her.
Only now did she raise her head.
In front of her, the youth that had just fidget spinned his way to victory was standing tall with a serious expression on his face. She was just about to call him all kinds of names for trying to pass the image of a lonely hero when he stretched his hand towards her.
"Pfft hahahaha!” A resounding collective laughter followed, even Miss Julia wasn't an exception.
She wasn't impressed into silence by Aegon's attack. She found it ridiculous and so did everyone else but that alone wasn't enough to make her laugh. The worst part was that he seemed to think that his attack was actually something impressive; he even went to help his opponent without laughing.
[His face is as thick as an ox’s skin.]
Yet in the midst of all that laughter Anna stayed silent, because that face in front of her didn't show any semblance of displeasure when people laughed at him, in reality it seemed that the laugher had eased his previous serious expression.
[It’s as if he wants them to think he is stupid.]
Throwing these thoughts out of her head she took his hand and stood up even if a bit wobbly.
Both walked back to their seats and waited for the announcement of the next battles.
