Breaking Point

It’s begins

Uraraka and Midoryia never fought. This was basic knowledge in Class 1A of UA. They were best friends that barely even ever disagreed. So when the pair entered the common room practically screaming at each other everyone there to witness it was concerned and immediately on edge. Even Bakugo seemed troubled.

“-WHICH IS WHY YOU NEED TO TELL ME!” Uraraka shrieked at Midoryia, almost gutting Kirishima in the stomach with her elbow.

“ITS NOTHING!” Midoryia yelled back, almost on instinct.

“YOU HAVE BEEN SO DISTANT LATELY! JUST TELL ME WHATS GOING ON!” Uraraka yelled, tears building up in her eyes.

“I CAN’T!”

“SAYS WHO?!”

“I-I can’t tell you that.” Midoriya hesitated, responding much quieter than before.

“WHY NOT?! I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS! ...I thought we were best friends..!” The girl cried out, her emotions pouring out of her like lava out of a volcano.

“We are!” Midorya responded quickly, an emotion Uraraka couldn’t quite pinpoint laced in his voice.

“BEST FRIENDS TRUST EACH OTHER!” Uraraka yelled, tears now freely falling down her face like tiny waterfalls with too much salt.

“I trust you!” Midoryia yelled a little too quickly.

“THEN WHY CANT YOU TRUST ME WITH WHATS BEEN BUGGING YOU! I’LL UNDERSTAND-!”

“NO YOU WON’T!” Midoryia snapped back, his own anger starting to bubble over like boiled water.

“HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU DON’T TELL ME?!” Uraraka basically screamed, making the others in the room flinch.

“I JUST DO!!” Midoriya responded knowingly for a reason Uraraka(and the others in the room) couldn’t quite understand.

“HOW?! JUST TELL ME DEKU THIS IS GETTING RIDICULOUS! YOU HAVE BEEN SHUTTING ME-US OUT! YOU HAVE BEEN PUSHING YOURSELF FAR TOO MUCH!! TELL ME WHATS HAPPENING!” Urakaka screamed, the last sentence sounding far too desperate for her liking.

“I. CANT. TELL. YOU. WHY CAN’T YOU UNDERSTAND THAT URARAKA?! SOMETHINGS YOU JUST DON’T...CAN’T TELL OTHER PEOPLE!” Midoriya snapped, sounding very un-Midoriya like.

“WHY?! WHY CANT YOU TELL ME?!” Uraraka screamed back, anger and fear for her friend’s -one of her closest friend’s- physical and mental well-being evident in her emotional eyes.

“BECAUSE I CAN’T BE THE ONE TO FUCKING REVEAL THE SECRET!! I’VE ALREADY FUCKED THIS UP ENOUGH! I MEAN, I BARELY FUCKING MADE IT INTO UA!! I CANT BE A FAILURE ANYMORE, OKAY?! I CANT!” Midoriya finally snapped, ranting about something no one in the common room(except Bakugo, of course) could fully comprehend.

“what-“ Uraraka started, shocked by her friends fowl language and still trying to process the little information Deku gave her.

“I HAVE TO PROVE MYSELF! I HABE TO PROVE THAT I CAN BE A HERO! THAT I CAN DO THIS!! THAT I AM WORTHY-“ Midoriya continued before getting cut off by an even more upset Uraraka desperate for more information, more insight. Desperate to understand. Desperate to help.

“WHO?! WHO DO YOU HAVE TO PROVE YOURSELF TO?!”

“...myself.” Midoriya responded quietly after a long second of thinking.

And with that, Izuku Midorya left the room, leaving a very confused and distraught Uraraka in tears and some very concerned and a little scared classmates in the room.

Denki was the first to break the silence, quiet as though anything louder would shatter the people around him. “...what just happened?”

    ~~~~A couple of  hours before~~~~
Ochako Uraraka was going to find out what was going on with Deku. Because something was obviously up. Lately he had been so distant and quiet, which is a far contrast to his usual cheery, positive, “You can do it!” self. He had also been overworking himself practically to a pulp everyday. Even Aizawa gave him a worried glance every once in a while.
Iida, Todoroki, and Tsu noticed, too. On the fourth day of him keeping this up, they all talked during lunch, when Deku was doing some extra training, about what they should do.
“We should just talk to him about it.” Iida said pointedly, pushing his glasses up his nose.
“Izuku wouldn’t tell us his problems even if we prompted him too.” Todoroki said as if it was the most basic fact in the world. If you didn’t know the dual-quirk user very well, he would look the least bit worried or concerned. Uraraka did know him quite well, though, so she could tell he was concerned for his close “friend”.
“He’s got a point there. *Kero* He would probably be too worried we were worried about him.” Tsu said calmly, picking at her rice slowly.
“Maybe it would work! I mean, he trusts us, right..?” Uraraka asked(hoped).
“He trusts us with his life. He just isn’t the type of person to vent about there problems.” Todoroki stated, again, very  matter of factly.
“So what, we just let him suffer alone in silence?” Uraraka questioned, getting a bit angry by her friends seemingly not caring about Dekus well being at all.
“Of course not! I’m just saying we need to wait for him to come to us or to think of a better course of action. We don’t want to pressure him.” Iida quickly responded, sensing his friends anger rising.
“Exactly. Are you okay with that, Ochako*kero*? Tsu said, looking at Uraraka with concern in those big, black irises.
Uraraka was not fine with this.
“Yep! As long as we figure what’s going on eventually!” Uraraka responded chirpily, putting on a fake smile which seemed to do the trick.
I guess I’ll have to do this myself.
