Rearing Itself - Chapter 3

Rearing Itself - Chapter 3

Shadows POV:

Again I lay awake at night listening to this sound of nothing and it really is the worst time to be awake because whenever I'm awake like this, whenever there's this awkward silence, there's also the unbearable voice that comes with it.

"Come on boy I think it's about time you just give in to this, you're only making it harder for yourself. Let it happen, let me in and take what humanity you have left."

"Don't you ever get tired of bothering me at night like this brain, why do I have to hear my own thoughts telling me to let go? Of what! I have nothing."

I continue to think to myself all while this voice keeps jabbering on saying the same thing: "Let me in, let me in, LET ME IN, LET ME IN!"

"Leave me alone! You're just some bad thoughts I have in my head when I'm sad.!"

It replies laughing:"Boy I am not your thoughts I am you...or the better part OF you."

It goes on and on throughout the entire night and I get no sleep. At least this gives me time to think, well think just a tiny bit, what with all this noise in my head.

So this brings the question to me, yesterday when that mysterious traveler showed up and took Illume away what could have happened with the two of them alone and why would they want to isolate Illume.

Right then the Void answers:"I know the answer to that question boy."

"Shut up"

"..."

Huh? No answer? That's weird usually it would've said something back. Can't think about myself right now though.

Why do I feel like something bad is about to happen in this town and what's up with this unnerving feeling that I can't shake.
