CHAPTER: 02 THE Monte CLANS DOOM

This story is about a character named daemon. He’s real name being dai monte member of the former monte clan. The monte clan is one of many independent clans situated in the land of fire. The monte clan was established by a certain powerful shinobi which gave the monte clan a duty to protect a mysterious jade tablet in return of which he taught them powerful earth type defensive barrier jutsus. The monte clans just as their ancestor have promised continued to protect the mysterious jade tablet. The existence of the jade tablet was both a shackle as well as the reason behind the monte clan’s existence.

But the greatest asset of the monte clan was neither the tablet nor their justsus but their genius in political intrigue. The monte clan was blessed with geniuses who were adapt at various skills in politics which they used to maintain good political relations with the neighboring clans.

Possessing a treasure is not a sin but still is an invitation to calamity. The monte clan genius knew how true this saying is and the importance of hiding the existence of the jade tablet lest they bring a calamity on themselves. Through careful political maneuvering they deeply concealed their strength and mascaraed as a weak clan not worth paying attention to. Which resulted with them fading into the background. [also why we never heard of them in the cannon lore]

As a clan specializing in defense and weak in offence the monte clan were perfect allies. By maintaining this image and selling their skills as elite defensive barrier makers. The monte clan was able to survive the chaotic era when the senju and the uchiha contested to be the best.

When the leaf village was created and the now allied senju and uchiha invited many ninja clans to join for peace as much as the monte clan wanted to they still did not joined the alliance as they could not anticipate the reaction of the various allied clans in case the secret of the jade tablet is exposed. The human heart is full of greed as such the head of the monte clan at the time decided that the monte clan will remain independent and guard the jade tablet in secrecy.

One of the greatest reason why the monte and other clans dared to claim independency was because of the first hokage. The first hokage being a peace lover didn’t want to force any clan in submission as such he created a treaty and gave his word that as long as the clans situated in the land of fire follow the laws created by the ruler of the land and do not participate in any activity which is against the interests of the land of Fire the non-allied ninja clans will be allowed to maintain their independency and autonomy with certain restrictions of course. The ninja clan if they desired could volunteer to participate in case of war but at the same time the leaf village could not force them.

The monte clan leveraging this treaty and their hidden strength were able to barely survive through all of the four great shinobi wars but of course it was not without cost they had to pay their fair share in blood just like everybody else.

Being an independent clan not allied with any organization with deep roots, surviving through four wars especially the forth great shinobi war whose scale and the caused distruction was unprecedented to say the least took its toll on the monte clan and by the era when naruto uzumaki took office came the Monte clan was only a shadow of its former self weakened beyond recovery of course the changes that the new era brought did not helped but worsened their situation.

When the five hidden villages made an alliance to participate in the Forth great shinobi war the lands backing them followed suit. The five great nations allied with one another and for the first time there was an era of peace.

As much as every shinobi desires peace the fact is that a shinobi makes his living on his skill in fighting. The era of peace did not meant an end to fighting but it did meant an end to large scale combats and the wars between the five great nations and the five great nations were the biggest patrons of the shinobis due to constant warring between them. This era of peace resulted in the demand for shinobis which used to be endless coming to a grinding halt. And with the five great nations pushing for policies and laws which advocated peace, trade and commerce rather than martial might the world was no longer as accommodating to the shinobis as it used to be.

The shinobi were tools of combat in an era of peace. Tools that were no longer needed. The relics of the past which the world outgrew .A certain wise scholar once said that the time when era of shinobi will be over is soon to come. Such various factors coming together resulted in countless ninja clans struggling to maintain their existence and even greater number fading into nothingness.

Monte clan was one such clan which was barely scraping by but the straw which broke the camels back [meaning what really did them in] was still the reason for their existence that is the mysterious jade tablet.

You see the current head of the Monte clan was very proud and loyal to the clan and as such loyal to their duty of guarding this mysterious tablet and was very proud in doing so. Being born in a declining clan did nothing to dampen this inherit feeling of proudness. For him his identity as the guardian of the jade tablet was far more important than his identity as a shinobi.

That is why when the clan head saw that the Monte clan before long will no longer be able to guard this treasure the reason for their existence through martial might he logically came to the conclusion that they need to find a different source of power, a different way to protect themselves and the tablet.

This new world was one in which people were protected under the laws and not through martial might. Because of which Monte clan head decided to hang the ninja mantle and take on the scholarly robes. He decided that retiring from being a ninja and taking on trade and commerce as their way of life was in the clans best interest. The decision was one that split the clan with half supporting it and the other half rejecting the idea. The Monte clan head’s reasoning behind this decision was a sound one as there was no probable way to recover their lost martial might and even if they were somehow able to recover it he was not sure that it will do them any good. On the other hand the Monte clan has been for generations blessed with geniuses in political intrigue if they are able to use this strength of theirs to gain enough they will be able to protect themselves through either making enough money to buy the needed protection through trade or through gaining enough political favors to which then can be exchanged for the needed protection through scholarly means [that is serving in an official position in the government].

The Monte clan knew that being a ninja clan and protecting the jade tablet was no longer possible and that if they are to continue to do their duty they will have to adapt to this new world which favors trade and commerce instead of martial might.Quite a few from the older generation recognized this fact and worked in implementing it one of the implementations was the decision to not to let the next generation know about their origin. To keep them in dark regarding their inheritance as the ninja and raise them as any worldly clan would do.

The previous generation was forbidden from hinting or implying anything regarding them being a ninja clan. The next generation will be thought the ways of this new world that is trade and commerce. The next generation was to be trained not as shinobis but as scholars and will be taught to live there life as people without chakra. And for the most part this implementation was successful and the generation which daemon belonged to were not privy to their ninja inheritance but thought themselves as young masters from an rich above average clan and being one of them daemon was raised as a sheltered flower especially so as his grandfather had lost both his son and daughter-in-law shortly after daemon was born was naturally very overprotective and doting of his grandson.

But as is the case with any decision there were many who did not agree but had no choice but to accept this change. There were many who loved their way of life loved being an shinobi and in desperation did something which doomed the entire Monte clan.

Due to the divide that was formed because of the clan heads decision there was a group of extremists who believed that as long as the Monte clan is free from the shackle that is the duty to guard the jade tablet the clan will be free to choose with of coarse this groups choice being continue to be a ninja.

The groups of Extremists choose to leak the information about the jade talisman to a certain power hungry organization which of course resulted in the organization finding out that the Monte clan has a treasure but not the strength to protect it. This particular organization was very much interested in any knowledge or path which may help it growand augment their strength and the Monte clan were fat ship waiting to be slaughtered. This particular organization which came into existence shortly after the forth great shinobi war also happened to be one of the richest organization in existence.

The Extremists made a deal that the organization had to procure the tablet through peaceful means which technically they did being one of the most richest organizations they offered to give the Monte clan any price they desired in return of the jade tablet. Of course the jade tablet being the very reason for existence of the Monte clan the clan head outright refused the organization and even rudely threw out the representative of the organization.

Seeing as the Monte clan were adamant in not selling the jade talisman the organization decided to use other means. Fortunately the very person who left behind the tablet also left behind a certain barrier jutsu which could prove to be troublesome for the organization. As even thought they were one of the richest organizations in the world and had a vast pool of manpower to match it. They could outdo anybody when it came to quantity but they were still lacking in quality as the five hidden villages were still the ones with the best shinobis in the world with the strongest of them being able to wipe out their entire organization singlehandedly. Of course as an organization spanning the world and having countless connections with the five great nations the organization was more than able to politically secure itself to the point where not even the kages who are second only to the kings in authority can do as they please with the organization.

Having countless political favors and to the misfortune of the Monte clan that the higher up in the organization being interested in the jade tablet lead to the order which was to procure the tablet at any cost.

After the forth great shinobi war was over there were a number of independent clans who foolishly rebelled against their respective nation some due to greed some because they could not accept the people they swore to kill yesterday as todays allies. This resulted in a situation where the independent clans will fight against one another and even against the government. They were creating needless chaos but the problem was that the five nations were viewing for peace and they could not directly execute independent clans from other nations.

In order to solve this problem kakashi hatake the sixth hokage came up with a way that was to create the new allied shinobi forces an independent organization with will be made up of the shinobis from all of the five hidden villages but at the same time the organization will operate autonomously with rules in place to make sure that neither the kage nor a particular feudal lords can use and manipulate the allied force for their own benefits.

But of course as long as people exist so will emotions and so will desire and with desires a way for them to be manipulated of coarse no single kage or a feudal lord had the resources or the time to infiltrate into the allied shinobi forces nor the end result be worthy of the investment. Of course things were different if you are an organization spanning the world and is counted as one of the richest taking control of the entire allied shinobi forces may not be possible but out of the five divisions manipulating one was still within its capabilities.

The mysterious organization [WMO] used their influence to falsify the charges of treason against the Monte clan as a clan rebelling was nothing out of ordinary having one false report slipping through especially when the person in charge was blinded by the shin of gold in his pockets was child’s play for the WMO.

The WMO rushed the procedures not giving anybody any opportunity to spot foul play. The orders were quickly handed out and the second division of the new allied shinobi forces combat team 11,19and7 along with team 21 which specializes in barriers were mobilizes no need to ask any questions just executing the orders was what this shinobi trained in the teams’ quickly arrived at the Monte clans manor after traveling for a day and a night they decided to rest for one day before executing the mission.
