Chapter 6: The glimpse of the Little Elf’s past
A radiant ray hit the face of the sleeping Elf as the sun slowly set high, making her awaken slowly. She yawns and stretches her limbs. She looked at the Devil who appears not still awaken.
She looked at him with anticipation, hope, dreaming of an unknown future. She finally snaps of her dreamy state. Got up and speedily run in the forest and nowhere to be seen after. She runs and jumps nimbly from tree to tree seemingly searching for something.
Finally, she found what she looking for. A White Horned rabbit, they are known to be fast and hard to catch and known to be rare and expensive in the bustling cities. The monster is currently eating grass, unaware of the stalker at the top of a tree, waiting for the right moment.
The little Elf finally made a move, she shot downwards with crazy speed towards the monster. The monster failed to notice until the last moment the figure within its perception and finally quickly made a run.
But the Little Elf is much quicker than the monster. Before the monster made its last step, the little Elf throws a pebble in a certain direction. When the monster made a quick turn, it was hit by that pebble, as if anticipating the monster’s next move. It was hit hard on the head that the head was blown into pieces. Still, the whole body is intact.
The little Elf strips the carcass of its skin and cleanses the body in the nearby river to wash the blood of the monster. Since she is already at the river, she decided to hunt some fish.
She looks for a long straight wooden stick. She finally found one with a slightly pointed tip. She places herself in the middle of the river at the top of a large boulder and focusing on observing a slight movement in the water. Then she notices a silvery light that’s reflecting in the water, she throws the spear expertly like she practices the move more than hundreds of times.
She finally struck a big fish more than half of her size with her spear. But the big fish won’t allow itself to be defeated easily as it swimming away from her. The big fish is trying to get out but with the shallow water and the wooden spears that pop up on the surface of the water giving away its location.
The little Elf follows at a mere distance and shot like a bullet into the river making a big splash on the surroundings. As she emerges wet into the water, she raised her arms and lifting the big fish up high.
She also cleaned the fish and make a fillet of it as she carries her prey on her shoulders, not sensing the heaviness that she carries.
She arrives at the camp only to find out that the Devil still not awake. But the little Elf is not worried and continues on her work. She gathered dried woods and preparing them to make a bone fire. On her hands are two kinds of rocks, she smacks the rocks to each another creating a spark in which touch the cotton-like substance that is part of the bone fire, igniting it in the process and slowly turning into a relatively large fire.
She staked her catch and with long wood and place them at the side of the fireplace, slowly cooking the meat. Finally finished doing her work she approaches the un-awake Devil and sat beside him and leans towards him, seemingly in a good mood but not clearly shown on her face.
Soon the good smell wraps the surrounding and unexpectedly awoken the Devil. The Devil wore an expressionless expression like the little Elf as both of them looked at the fully roasted meat on the bone fire.
A couple of minutes later, the little Elf got up and head to the bone fire to get the roasted meat. She goes back and gives the Horned Rabbit on a stick to the Devil.
The Devil did not hesitate and slowly grabs the meat and starting eating and much to the surprise of the little Elf who thought he would not easily accept this kind of gamey food.
She also begins to eat a piece of fish. The two quietly chewing their food sitting side by side to each other and feeling the first fresh wind breeze of the morning.
For the Devil, this was the first meal after his existence. The curiosity of food peaks him to try the meat and turns out to be delicious for him.
Not expressing it with emotion but he felt satisfied and content of the service that the little Elf provided.
He soon reaches out his hands towards the head of the little Elf who is currently eating unaware of the Devil’s action and pet her on the head and slowly moves below to the cheeks and wipe the food residue left on her face.
This small action made the eyes of the little Elf shines with excitement, she closed her eyes and greedily absorbing the positive feeling that she felt at the moment.
For the first in many years, she felt warmth in her heart.
Being alone and not being able to speak for a long time made the little girl appreciative of the little things that can make herself feels warmth.
That is why upon meeting the people of other races during her hunt she was easily captured, as she innocently expecting something good will happen to her after.
It is not certain what would be the result be if the Devil has not unintentional saved the little Elf. But one thing is certain that she will be forever damaged beyond repair if the people who captured her are successful.
The little Elf was never loved since she was born. Her past was bitter and sad, banished from her tribe for being different from the rest. She did not understand why they hated nor did they explain why.

Her so-called mother where she used to live in the housed hated her. It came to the point that the mother attempted to kill her by making her drink a corrosive poison.
But the little Elf survived but in exchange, her throat, tongue, the mouth is badly damaged that when healed she is unable to speak no more. But the little Elf forgives as she thought she had done something wrong, moreover, she has nowhere to go.
The mother gave up her murderous thought but the physical abuse keeps coming after. The little Elf endured, her strong body protected her from further lethal damages but her heart bleeds and in confusion and helplessness.
The tribe members also bullied the little Elf with verbal insults. But she did not know the meaning of most of the words. And sometimes flying objects thrown at her.
The happenings finally arrived at the ears of the Elders, the highest position of their tribe. Instead of lending a helping hand for the little Elf, they decided to banish the little Elf as she deemed to be a nuisance or a plague to the society they said.
It further confused the little Elf to the point that she struggles and accidentally hurt one of the capturers. She is supposed only to be banished far away area and still in the influence of the ancient barrier that holds their small world.
Her hurting their true member of the tribe resulted in a change of location that is outside the safety of the Elven people.
She was thrown outside her world. Using just instincts and her own strength to survive in the Dark Forrest traveling wherever her feet go and finally settled in the Eastern Forrest where food is abundant.
She is still had a few attachments towards her old home even though she was treated that way but slowly, attachments are slowly disappearing. The Dark blue power released from the hands of the Devil is slowly corroding any positive thoughts towards her tribe.
The Devil used his powers in a short moment in order to gain information from the little Elf but only to find bad memories and attachments to it. So, he used his powers to erase any positive thoughts towards her tribe without her noticing or just doesn’t care.
It might cause detrimental to her future should she meet them again so he must do it.
Moreover, He decided to make her his traveling companion. He would not allow his companion to have an attachment towards anybody except only him. A common possessive tendency of a Devil.
The Devil’s hands move right at the mouth and tried to open it to see. The little Elf slightly resists for a moment but took initiative after and opens her mouth. The Devil saw the scars of flesh like a melted candle. the Tongue and throat are damaged beyond repair as the person would make it difficult to speak.
“I don’t have the power to heal another person except myself, you have to bear for now until we find someone can” The Devils spoke as he informs her.
The little Girl seemingly not hearing him had her eyes close and feel the hands warm. The Devil is not omnipotent nor he has much power to contend the powerful forces in the world, for now, that is. He is somewhat still incomplete and has sustained damage when breaking the barrier of the Dark World.
Also, his powers are affiliated with the power of Chaos and Destruction, which means his powers are mainly for attacking and destroying not creating.
An hour later, the two has finish eating and preparing to leave.
“Little One, I saw in your memory of your tribe tell me its direction,” The Devil asked, not hiding the fact about mind reading.
“Uh,” She utters a small note and pointed at a certain direction and not worrying about what the Devil would do after. Even without removing the attachment she had towards her tribe, she has the complete trust of the Devil.
Her trust is also base on her instinct that made her survive in the wild and that the Devil would not harm her. Only her at least.
“Then let’s go” The Devil Walks in the certain direction that was pointed at. Where the little Elf pointed the location of the Elven tribe is heading to the deepest part of the Dark Forest, the Central Core.
Who knows how long and how many people they might encounter along the way before they can arrive at the place as the Dark Forest is big so as the dangers lied ahead?
For the moment the two enjoying their stroll and not hurrying their travel. The little Elf, jumping from tree to tree at the front, scouting the path the Devil would take to see the hidden dangers ahead like a committed henchman.
While the Devil, continues to walk but in his mind, there are countless voices of suggestions and planning. One Evil Spirit suggested making the Elven tribes their first conquest and the others like to build an army out of them. Tons of conflicting interests but all voices seem like fall into the category of subjugations. The Evil spirits did not think of possibilities of being defeated, that’s how confident they were at their main host.

Meanwhile, at the city of Morgana, the capital of the Albion Empire there lies the biggest Church of the Church of Light a gothic style cathedral than can fit a thousand people simultaneously. Every single day, thousands upon thousands seek salvation and pay homage to the one true Church of Humanity.
On the hallway of the Church, there was a priest seen running to the main worship area where regular people go to attend once a week. A priest is a young man in his 30’s wearing garb, sweat and panic appear on his face at a moment as he opens the large creaking door.
“After Saint Jacob slay the Demon king, he did not accept the king's reward. He told the king, give it to the ones in need, and the king complies, he gave the money to the ones that are affected by the war. But it did not end there, one of the starving orphans who had received help provided by the king turned to be the future Saint Emily one of the first pillars of the Church! You see folks! If you help the needy good things will happen in the future, we as the human will stand together to eliminate the Demons so the future will be free of worry!
As the young priest opens the door, and a voice is heard preaching a heartfelt story of one of the church’s beginnings. Standing at the altar and in front of the thousands of people listening is the archbishop of the Albion Empire, Archbishop Greg. A fat but seemingly friendly man in his 50’s.
The young priest came into a halt as the ceremony is still taking places midway but the believers not distracted by the young priest that opens the large creaking door as they digesting every word that the Archbishop is preaching.
An hour later the mass is over and after the last person goes away did the young priest hurriedly arrives at the altar where the Archbishop sat in a golden chair and start reading a book.
“What is it?” he asks uncaringly, not caring the priest in front of him as he continues to read the book.
“Your excellency, it’s about the sir Frederick Merd” The priest said with a low tone and head turns lower.
“Hmm, did he already return?” Archbishop slightly nods and ask question, but still couldn’t take his eyes away from the book.
“Umm, yes but…he is in critical condition” The young priest lowers his head more and a low tone that hesitant to speak.
Upon hearing the news and given a couple of seconds to digest the information, the book fell down and the Archbishop got up and wore a shock to his face.
“What! Tell me the details!” Finally, the young priest got the attention that he deserves but not happy about it as he informs every bit of detail to the Archbishop.
