Feeling a light tingle in his head, Nev suddenly regained consciousness. He suddenly shot open his eyes only to be greeted with a sort of familiar shining bright light. He was in a hospital.

He came here whenever he used to be injured which was often considering his working conditions in the mines. There were no actually suitable helmets and rather broken or severly used one which caused him to hit his head alot on the small caves.

He sat up in his hospital bed which was white and red instead of being white and blue which was the normal bed for people with minor injuries.

Looking up he saw that he was in a small room with 2 chairs and a table infront of him, a somewhat large door which situated infront of him but a little more right than the chairs and table and a small door on his right presumably leading to a bathroom, other than that there was a window on his left with he curtains closed so he couldn't tell whether it was night or day. He couldn't realize why he was here so he tried to remember what had happened before waking up in the hospital bed.

'Huh, wasn't I in the mines?'

Nev thought to himself before remembering what had happened in the cave. He remembered being knocked out inside the black liquid and... that was it.

'Very strange but I should try to get out of this hospital before the bill comes out to be something I can't handle.'

Before he could get up though a person came into the room from the large door. The person was a woman who was wearing a typical nurse outfit, the green shirt and pants with a mask. Coming into the room she got surprised - or rather Purplexed from seeing Nev actually awake. Before Nev could ask her anything she dialed a number on a phone situated on the table and talked to somebody with heavy whispers.

After she was done talking on the phone, Nev asked her a few questions considering his situation. The nurse refuted all questions and simply told him to wait before leaving the room in a sort of rush. Nev wasn't much of an expert on medical expertise so he simply considering having some sort of disease.

'I hope they don't give me a large bill for staying here'

So Nev decided to wait.

A few minutes later 2 men dressed in black suits and white shirts came into the room. Seeing the badge on their right pocket, Nev concluded that they were from the government.

'Oh boy I done messed up didn't I'

Nevs theory somewhat progressed when both of the agents sat infront of him and started asking him questions.

The first agent asked the first question:

"Why did you go into the caves"

Nev answered: "well I'm a miner, am I not? You should have this type of information considering that you work for the government, no?"

The second agent jumped into the conversation.

"Silence. We will be the only ones asking the questions here. Why did you go into that specific cave?"

"Again, I thought maybe I would find some sort of ores or minerals but I found nothing except for a black liquid which I thought was oil."

"That explains why you approached the black liquid. Did you manage to absorbed any light or dark matter?"

Nev thought to himself for a moment about how dumb these people were. Light matter was only present in areas with a high concentration of light and there would be none found in a cave underground. Yes there were light crystals which he could've absorbed but they were not affordable for a person of his status.

There might've been dark matter but that would've only been the case if that cave was not discovered for atleast a decade or two which was probably not the case plus in order to absorb dark matter, one had to go through rigorous training and had to buy several options and other utilities if he wasn't talented enough. Yes there have been some cases in which dark matter has been absorbed by pure accident but those people are far and few between.

But then again it was better being safe then sorry and if he did have absorbed dark or light matter then he wouldve had to been very sorry. So he decided to play the safe game

"Probably not but I'm not sure"

The first agent chipped in

"Are you trying to say that you might've accidently absorbed matter? Bullshit"

The other agent disregarded his coworker and pulled out a device which Nev assumed must've been a device to detect matter. He put the device on Nevs arm and waited.

All and all no one was expecting much but when it came back as positive meaning Nev had absorbed matter, everyone was surprised to say the least.

'Ah shit'

Nev thought to himself considering the future. He was gonna have to do alot of explaining and the agents could fully just not believe him and detain or kill him.

If they believed him then he wouldve Probably been encouraged to join the army and if he didn't then he would become an outcast and failure in society, maybe even being release from his job and never being able to get any job again.

Nev was in a tight situation to say the least...
