Inside the bus, a young lady stood up, getting ready to disembark from the bus as it stopped. She looked up at the sunny sky while using his hand which was not holding anything to block the bright light.
“Today is a beautiful day.” I muttered to myself.
She is Constance Vella Xavier, a petite woman in his 20s with a jet-black long hair that reached her waist, square-shaped glasses and her brown eyes which is mesmerizing.
I felt bad because I could not go out and enjoy this beautiful day. I had much to do. I just rented an apartment and I had not finished unpacking most of my stuff yet. I was thinking while I was walking along the street to the building where my apartment was located.
She reached the tall building, one of the most famous residence in Clover City. The rent of the apartment was surprisingly cheap as it was a hot-spot area.
I went towards the elevator and saw a guy was standing, probably waiting for the elevator. The button was pressed; it was going up. I waited for the elevator to come down.
A moment later the elevator came down and people went out from it. Constance and the guy entered the elevator. The guy went in first. Inside the elevator, Constance looked at the guy.
Did this guy dozed off? I thought to myself. The guy was quite weighty, a bit taller than me and had good looks. I was looking at him when his body suddenly jerked off, like he just woke up. I was baffled at the sudden situation.
The guy in confusion had grim expression, like something bad just happened to him. He looked at me and his expression went sour. He stepped away from me, and checked his bag. He took out a mask and he wore them.
The guy kept on staring at me. I started to feel that there was something wrong with this man. I held the grocery plastic tightly, ready to swing it at any moment if something were to happen.
The elevator door opened, the guy hurriedly exited the elevator and made his way. Constance was still afraid and waited until the guy completely disappeared from her sight. Only then she exited to elevator and walked swiftly to her apartment.
She looked around as she walked, being wary of the guy she just met in that elevator. After a while, she realized that maybe she was being sensitive and the guy actually did not mean any harm. Still, it was a weird moment for her.
She stood in front of the door to her apartment, checking for the key. It was not there. She put down the grocery plastic bag and carefully checked her handbag of the key’s whereabouts. She swore that she put the key inside her handbag. Did it fell somewhere? She thought to herself.
“Why did this happen to me?” I sighed and ranting about my clumsiness.
I thought of calling the locksmith when I remembered that the landlord live in the same building as me. He should have a spare key, if I am not mistaken. I took out my phone and called the agent that dealt with me during the rental process.
“Hello! Is this Miss Laura?”
“Yes, may I know who is speaking?”
“I’m Constance. Do you remember me? I dealt with you in regards to an apartment few days ago.”

“Oh, Miss Constance. Yes, I remembered.”
“I had something to ask you, can I get the number of the owner of the apartment? I lost my key and I knew that the landlord lived in the same building as me. He might had a spare key that I could borrow.”
“For that, wait for a moment please. I will need to ask his permission before giving you the number.”
Miss Laura ended the phone call. A moment later she sent a text message. It was the number of the landlord. I thanked her via text message and proceeded to call the landlord by the number given.
The landlord did not pickup the phone. I tried several times but it still gave me the same result. I decided to text the landlord instead and surprisingly it was read soon after I texted. I grumbled on why he was not picking up when he was around the phone.
The landlord replied her message, asking her to go to his apartment. Constance made her way to the landlord’s apartment. Apparently, they were living in the same floor; Constance did not know that.
She reached the said apartment and rang the bell. A loud thud could be heard from the inside. Constance got curious on what was happening inside. There were sound of people moaning in pain.
“Please wait for a moment.” A male voice sounded from the intercom.
Constance waited for while before the door opened. To her surprise, it was the guy in the elevator earlier. However, he looked different or more to feel different. He greeted Constance nicely and with a soft voice.
“Hello! You are Constance, right. What do you want from me?”
“Err… hello, err… Mr.Landlord, I lose the key to my apartment. I wanted to ask if you have any spare key since I have not changed the key yet?”
“Just call me Caesar. I see, please come inside.” He invited me to enter his apartment.
Something was wrong here, she thought to herself. Why he acted like he did not know me? We just met a while ago in the elevator. This guy might be up to something.
“Sorry Mr.Caesar, it is alright for me to wait over here.” I said calmly, but inside I was cowering in fear.
“Oh well, that’s alright. Wait for a moment. I’ll go fetch the keys for you.” He replied and went inside.
He was back after a while, bringing a bundle of keys.
“Erm… there is a problem here. The key you wanted is among these keys. I am not sure which one is it.” He spoke while scratching his not itchy head. “Lets go to the house. I will help you find the key to it.” He suggested to me while smiling.
“There was no need for that Mr. Caesar, I’ll find it by myself. Just let me borrow those bundle of keys for a while.” I rejected his help because I did not trust him.
“Alright. You can borrow them. Just put the key inside the mailbox when you are done with it.” He nonchalantly agreed to her.
“Thank you, Mr. Caesar.”
Constance left Caesar’s house and returned to her apartment. As she walked back, she kept on thinking about Caesar’s behaviour and temperament. It was a weird sight to her. She reached her apartment and tried the key one by one.
She had tried many keys but he had not find the one yet.
“Why are there so many keys here?” I mumbled, voicing out my dissatisfaction.
She inserted another key and the door opened.
“At last I found it.” She let out a sigh of relief.
She entered the house and put the key on the table in the living room.
“Hmm… I should organize the stuff that I bought first.”
She took the grocery to the kitchen and unload its content to the fridge.
After she was done with it, she remembered that she need to go out again to duplicate the keys.
I went to the living room and picked up the keys. One of the key caught my attention. It was key adorned with crescent blue jewel. When I touched it, it emitted a dim glow that gradually getting intense. Blue light filled up the room. The light dimmed and gone after a while.
“What just happened?”
What happened to her just now was something like a magic. However, in this world, magic is a fantasy. She reasoned that the key might be a flashlight in the form of key. However, when she touched it again, it did not glow.
