Some hours later that night the wolf came back holding its prey, or whatever was left of it, in its mouth. But by the blood that soaked the wolfs paws and maw Yu could tell that it had its fill and that it actually meant to give him the food, as to whether it was out of guilt from eating his own or because it had started to open up to him, he had no idea.
'At least it has a conscious'
When he looked at the bloody mess of a corps his appetite had dwindled, and with the little meal from earlier on Yu had lost all intent on eating.
Apparently though the wolf didn't agree, as after it dropped the prey in front of his feat it kept staring at him with a look of expectation.
Smiling at the gesture Yu softly declines the wolf
"A great hunt but I'm very full, Il eat it some other time"
The wolf, not in the slightest moved, keeps staring at Yu with its eyes as if it's his job to eat.
Realizing the situation Yu frowns a bit and looks at the raw meat, and after several seconds of contemplation he sighs and picks up what he thinks to be a rib and takes a decisive bite, spraying blood all over his cloths.
'Oh bummers I can't even make a fire since anyone who might come will see it, or it could even lead someone here and the last thing I need is a screw up in my plans.'
Directing a painful smile at the wolf as he eats Yu curses the ancestors of the bloody deer for tasting so bitter and chewy, he hated chewy food, it was in fact his second most hated type of food.
'But this is good as well, cubs in infancy catch prey for their parents and get them to eat it as to demonstrate filial piety which means things are going rather well.'
That was in fact the reason Yu ate so willingly, as his life depends on the future cooperation of the wolf he needs to get it to listen to him which would defiantly save him from incidents similar to the one from Kore's mansion.
But as he chewed on he spotted a flash that went through the wolfs eyes, which sent shivers down his spine.
'What was that just now? isn't it bringing food to demonstrate loyalty? why did I suddenly feel danger.. wait unless? No that's ridicules'
Shaking the silly thoughts out of his head Yu looks back at the wolf with a smile throwing what happened at the back of his mind and attributing it to the raw meat causing him to imagine things.
After what seemed like an eternity of nausea to Yu, which was barley a few minutes, he finally finished the rib and looked toward the now satisfied wolf, which soon took its place beside Yu and went to a happy deep sleep, as if they were in a picnic and not the battlefield.
Its actions stunned Yu for a good few moments before he himself sat down fell into light sleep with his last thought being how great would it be if he was as carefree in his actions.
'Right since we will be spending some time together from now on I should name it, after all it wouldn't be practical calling out to it without a name, but for now... Il..... sleep..'

And so he fell asleep, with blood still covering his face, next to the bloodied wolf, creating a dangerous scene that contrast their peaceful sleep.

*On the evening of third day*
Next to the mansion beside the stream, a figure was making its way toward the doors with a sly grin on her face.
'Found another great practice target for lil sis, that cutie must be antsy to prove herself I'm afraid she will want to go right now'
With wide strides the figure reached the door before a frown suddenly found itself into her beautiful face.
'Where are the servants? no one opened the door to greet me, seems like this garbage got too relaxed thinking their important by being here, Il make sure the family gets their low ranks straight when we finish this contest'
With irritation the girl with vigorous youth enters the quite mansion, at which point she notices the unexpected silence.
'Even if their slacking where are the guards? lil sis couldn't have let them run free this mu... wait it couldn't have affected her that much right?'
In the middle of her thought process the girl recalls the fact that she sent her sister to kill that garbage of the Shenai family. Thinking that he would be a good practice target for her hat poses no danger as he was injured and had no soul beasts left.
'I knew her first kill would have some effect on her but I didn't think she would isolate herself this much, if Ide known then I would have gone with her even if it meant her first wouldn't be a natural'
The Cranen family is a hunter family, and any hunter family known throughout the history places special importance on the first hunt. Any member of the main family must acquire their first kill by themselves, no tools, no help, just the hunter and the prey.
Not going by the tradition means tarnishing the families name, which is punishable by death being the minimum sentence.
"Who cares about tradition, its not like any of those old geezers are here anyway"
Cranen Karme, true to her wild nature, didn't care about any of the boring rules, and her concern is only ever occupied by her sweet little delicate sister that can't seem to be able to do anything on her own, Cranen Kore.
With a bubbly mood Karme proceeds toward the second floor, confident in her ability to get her sister out of her sour mood.
'I brought some cake with me, if that doesn't get her over it I'm sure I tickling her to death would do it'
As she smiles from ear to ear while heading toward her sisters room Karme suddenly slips on the stony floor and falls to her butt.
"awyy, which idiot didn't clean the ground?!! You all better come out for me to beat you down"
Letting her tongue loose and yelling at the closed doors Karme finds the situation quite weird. While getting up and rubbing her plump butt she notices the sticky feeling on her hands which to her surprise turned out to be slightly dried blood. Thinking of the silent mansion and connecting the dots Karme suddenly runs toward the third floor, only to see be greeted with a missing Castel Core accompanied by what seems to be a feast of human flesh.
Frowning with anger coursing through her Karme punches the wall next to her hard enough for her fist to almost bleed out and curses at the beast that ended her sister’s opportunity.
"When I finish this stupid game Il beat the bastard to a pulp"
The reason she is confidant in her ability to know of the culprit is because it would be shameful for any of the nobles to steal the core while master was away, thus most fights are done after declaring war, like a mock territory war.
Going down to her sister's room while seething in anger Karme find the door open and enters, intending to pick up any item her sister might have left since she wouldn't be able to take with her any item she didn't have on her at the time of death. which includes her favored frilly white dress that she defiantly wouldn't wear to battle. but upon taking a look she finds the room of her beloved sister to be in a mess as if ransacked in a hurry.
'Which deprived noble would do such a thing'
Her feelings from anger turned to disgust, since any of the items found in here would be common even among some of the servants as the Dimensions rules forbid entry of artifacts and the like.
Ignoring the mess on the floor she opens the closet and takes the clean white dress with her.
"At least this was left unharmed else.."
A dangerous gleam flashed through her eyes as she spoke halfway, the meaning very well obvious.
Since she had nothing to do she set off to her own mansion, while pondering if she should actually participate in the contest as her goal had only been to train her beloved sister and nothing more.
But, from the moment she saw the mess in her sister's room she had a vague feeling of uneasiness that she couldn't wash away which continuously dimmed her mood.
'Why do I have this bad feeling that something happened..'
As she pondered, the image of an arrogant youth suddenly popped up in her head. Thinking it wouldn't hurt to check, and that the safety of her little sister was more than worth it, Karme turns her mount toward the direction of that youths supposed execution ground with the hope that all her worries were an illusion.
Yu, on the other hand, was still unaware of the deathly danger heading toward him, if he was however, he would have surprisingly been calm, for he had absolute confidence in his plan.
