AT THE MERCY & WILSON CLINIC, Shelley saw ending her working hours – after a busy-Monday morning that dragged till midday. Now she had to do some final paperwork and daily-inventory record-checking… and she was finished for the day – to pick-up her B-girl in school…
… in the midst of her-paperwork, her Huawei rang…
… it was her-friend Ira Collins calling…
Ira-and-Shelley became ‘friends’ on Facebook – and later they ‘met’ personally when Ira had PM-ed for some medical advice for her-14-year-old niece… who got pregnant by having ‘unprotective-sex’ with their neighbour’s teenaged-son…
… Shelley strongly advised that the niece ‘should’ get an abortion so that the tender-aged teen could go-back to school after her-unwanted pregnancy issue had-been resolved – as ‘teens’ drop-out rates from the education system were high in Perth… with no future for most of the single-mothers in its society…
… she even accompanied Ira, the girl and her-parents to the abortion-clinic…
Since that day, Ira ‘turned’ to-be her-good-friend – where the decision had turned-out well… when the niece had gone-back to school and been getting good-grades as a 2nd chance to her-life…
“Congratulations to Jane! When I switched on the telly and there, she ‘was’ on the 2-o’clock news receiving the award…” Ira blurt-out in excitement…
“… huh… WHAT AWARD…?” Asked the puzzled doctor-mother…
Ira told Shelley that the mayor had visited Stamford High School and presented the Bravery-award to Jane-and-Paul for their ‘heroic’ actions…
Shelley’s jaw-dropped when she ‘heard’ that… recalling…
… her B-girl had been getting rave-attention in the social-media… ever-since she had ‘disobediently’ went to the zoo without her-parents’ permission…later her Facebook-friends had ‘begun’ to comment that JANE-AND-HER-BOYFRIEND were lucky to be alive after they had ‘seen’ the ‘relevant’ YouTube-and-TikTok videos on the-internet…
… Shelley was too-embarrassed to ‘return’ to Facebook – cos’ as an advocator for abortion to save young-girls’ education – and, has-her ‘own’ tender-aged daughter who was ‘dating’ in school…
… now, she’s getting an-award for ‘bringing’ shame to the family…
-O-
Cool air blew on the face as she was getting comfy on the leather-seat of the moving-car. Her-mind was weary as it escaped into the music of the car-stereo… it had been a long-and-eventful first-day at school – now-she wanted was-to just-take a cat-nap in the journey-home…
… emerged into the ballads-sung… and, imagining her-Paul was singing-to-her those-songs…
Her-headspace tranquillity was abrupted by her mother’s questioning-voice…
"I heard Mayor-Blake came… where is the award he ‘gave’ you…?”
…Jane was caught off-guard as she-was ‘still’ in her-reveries – as she had ‘not’ expected her-mother who-was ‘not’ in talking-term for the past-3-month…was talking-to-her today…
“… err… I threw it away in the garbage-bin…” Jane told the-truth…
“What…!!? ‘Why’ did you throw the Mayor’s award-away…!!!”
“It’s a totally rubbish-award and I got no time for such-nonsense… I rather focus on studies now-that school had reopened…” Her B-girl said…
The doctor-mother was quiet… but was suspicious…
‘… she is ‘lying’ – she must-have given it to her Walker-twin boyfriend…’
The mother-and-daughter did ‘not’ speak-further through-out the rest of the journey… then, when her blind-biological feeling of reaching-home by-driven in the car kicked-in…
… she ‘felt-odd’ as her-acute hearing-senses heard her-dog barking from a distance… even-though the car had ‘not’ reached the-front-gate…
‘…shut-up, Piper… the stupid dog misses his-Kitty…’
Jane had ‘kept’ her dog caged-in with the zombie-attack incidences on-going in the city – because she learnt her-lesson in the other-Perth – where PIPER BITTEN by Asmodeus’ black panther…
-O-
The Mazda SUV reached the front-gate – the blind-girl heard her-dog wild-barks, and she sighed…
Before Shelley used her-car-remote to ‘open’ the gates – she ‘noticed-something’ peculiar…
Her-jaw dropped when she saw 2 baboons at her-front-lawn – ‘not’ an-everyday common sight … where the Australian-continent doesn’t have monkeys-in-the-bushes…
Shelly took the remote-control device of electric-gate – and-also took her handgun from her handbag, before alighting from the SUV’s cabin…
“Stay here in the car!” The mother instructed before slamming-the-door…
… it confused the blind-daughter…
‘… what’s going-on…?’
Jane switched-on her AI headset to activate Boyyo, so that Boyyo could have a visual of ‘what’ was happening via her AI-driven dark glasses.
When she switched it on, she ‘felt’ a jolt of static-electricity hitting her brain… that followed by the pain of thousands of pins-of-migraines poking her-brains of her-skull. The blind-girl endured seconds of the pain and her-mouth tasted minty…
… then there was A ‘TRANSMISSION’ in her head…
“Boyyo, STOP… YOU’RE hurting-me…!”
“… jan…can y… hear… m…”
It was ‘not’ Boyyo’s voice… but of a young-woman’s…
“SIMY…!!?”
… SIMY had ‘overridden’ Boyyo – to ‘communicate’ with Jane via a backdoor channel…
“…Jane, listen to… me…your brother is… IN DANGER… go… save him ‘now’…”
… Jane’s 3rd-eye instantly opened – as she saw shapes OF ‘SILHOUETTES’ ahead – then she saw RED-DOTS of eyes moving-around the front yard…
“POPOBAWA is ‘back’…!!!” She exclaimed…
Blind-Jane got off from the SUV… hearing the ratting-sound of the gate closing…
-O-
The noises of the dog barking its head-off… was heard from the backyard.
Shelley used the remote-control and the horizontal front-gate railing shut-close behind-her. She saw the 2 baboons sitting in the grass facing the-house… as both the female-monkeys were on their secret-lookouts… and while at-it, one of the monkeys was suckling-an-infant. The moment both the-primates were aware of the human-presence… they shrilled-and-shrieked aloud…
Shelley cocked-her gun… and approached them in the grass… pointing her-gun…
Even-though she had bought the hand-gun for more-than a month – she had been too busy at work to sign-up for shooting lessons at the gun-range – but the-doctor was confident that she ‘could’ handle-herself well to self-protect herself and-her-family…
… the moment-of-truth WAS ‘NOW’ – if those monkeys ‘attacked’ her…
Both the monkeys ran to the side-of the-house to the backyard. Shelly followed-them…
-O-
Jane noticed her doctor-mother had closed the front gate… she began to climb the metal-gate – until a voice spoke in her-head…
“Jane, what are ‘you’ doing…? Can’t you just ‘fly-over’…?”
At the dire-moment, the panicky blind-Jane had forgotten SHE ‘WAS’ a superhero who could ‘fly’…
“… oh-yes, SIMY… sorry…thanks for suggestion…”
The moment when Shelley had gone to the backyard – it was-when her B-girl FLEW TO the locked front-door. Jane had a bad ‘touchdown’ and almost tripped at the porch-steps... then she rushed to search her blazer-pockets and got the house-key…
…she unlocked the door – and got-into the house…
-O-
Shelley watched the 2 female baboons escaping the compound by-scaling over-the-wall… she unlatched the cage gate-open – and the yapping half-breed Alsatian rushed to the wall… woofing-and-snarling at the fleeing primates over-the-wall…
…the doctor-mother was shocked when she saw the newly-repaired kitchen window was broken-again since the last panther-attack. She took-out her Huawei to call the housekeeper Lola…
… Lola’s ring-tone tune of Amazing-Grace played – inside the kitchen… by the broken-window…
Then Shelley heard some commotion happening ‘upstairs’ – instantly, the doctor-mother took an empty apple-box-crate to climb… on-to enter-the house via the broken-kitchen window…
…shards of the shattered window-glass were scattered at the dish-washing area – as the-doctor carefully climbed-in… avoiding cutting-herself. She used her-weight by-holding the kitchen faucet-tap…
… the old-fixture THEN BROKE…
… and the 50-sometheing woman dropped through the-window – as she landed-hard onto the floor-kitchen. Dazed on the floor, she laid-still for a moment-to-recover herself… teeth gritting with the pain of a bleeding split-eyebrow…
Her vision-blurred at her early-state of-going into-unconsciousness, but she fought-herself to stay-awake. The pain in her ribcage were gradually subsiding as she fought-again with keeping her-eyes-open, where they-were welling-up with tears-and-blood…
… then, she sensed A MOVEMENT in the-kitchen…
… from the shadows walked 2-male young-adult baboons – they both creeped-over, snarling at the doctor – Shelley saw them coming-slow…one-with its both-hands armed with the house kitchen chef-knives – and the other was holding a long kebab-skewer like a spear…
Shelley realized that she had lost’ her handgun during the fall… where the weapon had-slid to the other-side of the kitchen-floor…
The growling primates came close to the helpless injured woman… the duo loomed over-her… in pain, she laid with her-eyes closed – too terrified to scream and accepted her-demised…
… before they could strike-for-kill…
Enter-Piper…
… leaping into the window and landed on floor of the broken-glass shards – in-front Shelley… snarling at the baboons to protect its human-master…
The monkeys were startled – and felt-threatened by the big-grey ferocious wolf-like canine. They fled into the living-room…
… Piper chased them…
-O-
… the moment Jane opened the front-door – her 3rd-eye ‘sensed’ that Piper was chasing 2-baboons around the living-room… as the animals were trashing-and-knocking things-around. One of the monkeys brought-down the 60’ LED-flatscreen crashing on the-floor as it avoided the Alsatian’s bites…
“Piper ‘needs’ help…” Exclaimed Jane as she got-into action-mode….
… but-she ‘heard’ shouts inside her-head…
“NO-JANE – go-to Samuel – HE IS IN-DANGER… let the lazy-dog ‘fight’ its own-fight…!!!”
“… okay…”
The blind-girl ran towards the stairs…. and, the voice YELLED-AGAIN…
“Stop with the-running – FLY-JANE-FLY – 35-degrees North-west…!!!”
Jane then flew-up…
Meanwhile-downstairs…
… Piper cornered a baboon in the dining-room area – and the canine bit-on its neck… going for a kill… but the other-baboon came to the-rescue…
… it leapt behind Piper’s back and speared the long kebab-skewer into its’ shoulder-blade… the dog yelped-in-pain… and dropped-down…
-O-
Jane reached upstairs – and, her 3rd-eye saw 3 male-baboons were using sharp kitchen-knives TO HACK-into the room-door of her-baby-brother…
… the frightened Samuel wailed from-inside…
“Samuel! I’m coming!”
The big-sister cried-out – as she flew along the upstairs-hallway…
… the primates heard her-voice – and-2 baboons turned-around to confront the approaching Jane… leaving behind the BIGGER-ALPHA MALE who was chopping-and-hewing-down the door with a meat-cleaver…
SIMY warned her of the coming-danger – and, Jane-too saw the charging red-eyes which were fast-approaching… armed with dangerous-sharp weapons. She avoided their scything by flying high to the 4-metered high-ceiling… the baboons were jumping 3-meters in-the-air to stab-her…
… Jane expertly-flew around their attacks…
… she could-have easily used her fiery-blasts to kill-them – then her-mommy and-the-rest-of world would-know-of her superhero-identity – so the blind-girl opt-to use the weapons of the-enemy to assassinate the ‘unholy-trespassers’…
Her skilful dodges-loops-and somersaults were frustrating the primates – and the duo-monkeys were-then throwing their knives at the defensive-darting blind-Jane…
… that was where she GOT A CARVING-KNIFE as her-weapon – by pulling the blade that was lodged-stuck in the ceiling-top…
Jane went-in offensive as she flew-in and knifed-and-stabbed both of the ferocious-monkeys – with blood-splattering with the slick-lacerations… until the duo-dropped-dead…
The tween in her-school uniform CHARGED AT the alpha-male who had made fist-sized holes of the door, by hacking-away with the butcher-knife… it turned-to screeched-and-shrieked to discover Jane had killed its kind…
… the alpha galloped in its-forehands before it leapt-high at the flying-girl – wanting to DECAPITATE-HER – Jane did an aerial-backflip to avoid the striking meat-cleaver…
She caught the-beast in mid-air and they crashed on the floor… and wrestled face-to-face – the strong-monkey pinned-her to the floor – and was going-to bite her face-off…
-O-
Downstairs, the injured canine whinnied-and-yelped in pain as it bled on-the-floor of the dining room. The baboon held the kebab-skewer wanting to-stab the dog’s neck…
… it stood above Piper WITH THE SHARP-WEAPON as it wanted to fatally spike – the wounded-dog… A SHOT-RANG…
… blowing-off the baboon’s arm – that held the pointed-skewer…
… the recovered-Shelley ‘had’ fired the shot – she rushed-in and fired a 2nd-shot in its head to kill-it… the doctor shot the 3rd-time at the other-wounded baboon – that Piper had-bit on its-neck…
The shot rang…
… so that it won’t spring-up ‘alive’ later – like a ‘playing-possum’ dying monster from a horror-movie…
Shelley tended to the injured-dog by placing a kitchen-rag on its-wound… she then heard soft-cries upstairs – which was of-Samuel’s…
… her-maternal instinct kicked-in… as she hurried-up the stairs…
… she was shocked when a decapitated cranium of the alpha-male rolling-down the stairs in-which she was ascending…
When she reached the top-floor – she was horrified to spot her B-girl… with the aftermath of a blood-bath of 3 dead-monkeys…
… the exhausted blind-girl in torn-and-bloodied uniform sat on the floor…with her-head hung-low between her-legs – ‘guarding’ the front of her-brother’s battered-room-door…

2 PATROL CARS, AN AMBULANCE, A FORENSIC-unit van and several police-detective cars were parked in front of the Wilson-residence. Several curious-neighbours were gathered in front of the closed metal main-gate…
Corporal Frank Smithy was doing the crowd-control… and also had the remote-control for the electrical-gate – that opened when they-stretchered the wounded Piper out… and an-ambulance sent the dog to-the-vet.
Inside the house, was Detective-Sargent Edgar Blunt who was the officer in-charge – who had mistakenly called the Forensics thinking-that it was a zombie-home-attack – now, had to deal of the South-Perth Zoo’s escaped-primate case… that invaded the Wilson-residence…
Detective Blunt had it in-control– wrote in his small black-book:
No-one was killed – except for 5-male baboons… with 2 escaped-females at-large…
* Downstairs – 2 primates ‘shot-dead’ with a .22 Smith-and-Wesson
* Upstairs – 3 primates ‘knifed-to-death’ – 2 with a 7”-carving-knife… the other was ‘decapitated’ by a 11”-butcher-knife
The detective jotted the ‘victim-report’:
* Samuel Jaheem-Wilson, aged 3 – status: SAFE
* Lola Flores/housemaid, aged 38 – status: SAFE
* Dr Shelley Wilson, aged 52 – status: INJURED (received in-house treatment)
* Jane Wilson/blind, aged 12 – status: SAFE (in-shock and suffer memory-loss)
* House dog/mixed-breed Alsatian – status: INJURED (stabbed/ sent to vet)
Det Blunt was in the living-room that had ‘been’ damaged by the primate-intruders – the housemaid and Wilson family who were ‘involved’ in the commotion sat the couch and chairs – they were all ‘fine’ except for the 3-year-old boy –who was crying that his-Led TV was broken with a shattered-screen.
Jane Wilson was the main person-of-interest – who a few hours-ago, received the mayor’s Bravery-award was ‘now’ in-question. A female detective was talking to the tender-aged girl who survived the horrific-ordeal without a-scratch…
The blind-girl ‘had’ a memory-loss – and cannot ‘recollect’ what had ‘actually’ happened:
* She recalled her mother telling her to ‘stay’ in the car before she (Shelley) closed the gate with the remote-control… but Jane ‘apparently’ was in the house ‘later’ – the evidence was there-that – she ‘had’(used) the front-door… because her-house key was ‘still’ hanging at the lock
* The blind-girl can’t remember the deadly altercation she had with the wild-monkeys (‘when’) she was in the house – she can’t remember ‘killing’ them too – even the evidence was that the dead primates suffered multiple stabs… and one (the alpha) was decapitated
‘… whoa… that visually-impaired girl ‘just-killed’ 3 adult-male baboons without sustaining a single bites-nor-scratch… how is that ‘not’ lucky…? She sure-is Tarzan’s Jane, alright…’ Det Blunt was amazed…
The police did ‘not’ want to-pressure the tender-aged blind-girl who was in the state-of-shocked. They turned to the nanny to give a-first-hand account of what had’ happened – as Det Blunt took-notes:
* Lola was cooking when she heard the dog bark (cage locked). She saw out of the window to see a congress-of-baboons in the backyard. And, the flange then threw rocks at the window to break-it
* Lola ran to the living room to pick-up Samuel – who was then watching the-telly. She saw the baboons were-now armed with the kitchen-knives – terrified, she fled and ran upstairs with the boy – and left her phone in kitchen (can’t call ‘help’)
* Lola locked herself-and-boy in the boy’s bedroom – at first, she heard violent crashing on the door. She hugged the boy – terrified with angry-screech noises-outside, and prayed the Hail Mary
* Lola next witnessed holes on the door as the baboons hacked with kitchen knives – still repeated her-Hail Mary
* Lola heard GUNSHOTS (Dr Wilson fired)
* Lola next heard ‘altercation’ with cries of animal in-pain… followed by silence
* Lola then heard Dr Wilson’s voice… and she opened the door – Shelley was bleeding from her forehead, while Jane was squatting at the door… drenched in blood…
* Lola proclaimed Mother Mary ‘had’ answered her-prayer with a ‘miracle’ by killing the baboons
Det Blunt smirked to-himself…
‘… Lana would ‘LOVE’ THIS…’
… he was referring to Lana-Lane, his live-in reporter girlfriend – who had her-conspiracy-theory that Tarzan has ‘superpowers’ – and the crippled-tween could fly-and-shoot lightning-bolts from his-hands… where he-had used in ‘this’ same-house… at the night of the black-panther attack… similarly…
… just-like at the zoo – where ‘Tarzan’ put-down an adult Black-rhino into a-coma…
That would ‘keep’ his girlfriend-busy in her-fantasy caper, in the daytime – while he’s ‘away’ long-hours from her – doing actual police-work working the zombie-cases…
… THE FAVOUR in-exchange for sex, in the night-time …
-O-
Det Blunt and his-partner were the last to leave the Wilson-residence…
While the female-detective was delivering police-procedure-counselling to the victims in the living room – Det Blunt wandered-off to the kitchen with his-notebook to double-check…
* … and saw a pot on the stove (Lola ‘was’ cooking) – and lifted the lid… with lukewarm of half-cooked beef-goulash stew…
* …looked at the floor with smeared bloods stain (Dr Watson-fell) – and, rocks and scattered shards of broken-glass on the floorboards (baboons’ entry-point) …
* … and, at empty wooden knife-rack (baboons armed-themselves) …
* … he stood at the damaged-window and looked-out at the yard… with built 3-meter high-walls (2 baboon escaped) …
* … peeked-out further to see an empty dog-cage (Dr Watson opened-it) ….
* … he walked to the dining-area – the floor was with lots of blood-pools (injured-dog and 2 dead-baboons… Dr Watson shot with a .22) …
‘… all of their statement-STORIES CHECKED… except for the Hail-Mary Miracle-Jane with her-memory-loss… of her ‘upstairs’ bloodbath…’
Det Blunt put the small-notebook in his-pocket and returned to the living-room. Noticing the panic-stricken man-of-the-house, Anthony Wilson arriving-back in his-Merc…
… both the-detectives ‘left’ once – the Wilson-couple argued…
-O-
“Where have you ‘been’…!!?” I’ve been calling you-again since the cows-came-home – and you-there SWITCHED ‘OFF’ your bloody-phone!!!” The wife shouted…
“I got here as fast-as-I can through the traffic-road-blocks and checkpoints – I’m driving and can’t answer your every-call you make – WHAT HAPPENED HERE…? Are you okay…you’re ‘hurt’ in the head…? Are the kids-okay…?” The husband responded…
“… don’t worry about-me – I’m a doctor… you-come with-me…!” The doctor-mother ‘ordered’…
Jane who was seated in the living-room – ‘heard’ her parent brought their-argument to the kitchen…
“You want to ‘know’ what happened – a troop of baboon stormed into the house from the backyard by breaking the bloody-window – luckily I got here on-time… and I bloody-shot them…
“… remember the gun you ‘told’ me to return since the last black-panther attack– I ‘used’ it to shoot those wild-monkeys to protect my-children-and-myself – and had I ‘listened’ to you… we-all would be dead eaten-by those cannibal-monkeys…!!!!”
“Calm-down, Shell, we pack-up and go to the Hilton for a week – till the house is renovated…” Anthony wanted to hold his wife – but Shelley slapped his-hands away…
“Hey-what are you saying…?” We have ‘been’ attacked-again – Tony, this-bloody house is ‘not’ safe…we should ‘sell’ the house – and move-out to somewhere safe! You get-me…?”
“That is ‘absurd’ – WE CAN’T SELL the-house… We go to the Hilton until the renovation…” Anthony reasoned…
“NO! Every-decision you ‘make’ is bad-one, Tony…! Our children have ‘been’ attacked the 2nd-time, can’t you bloody see-that or are you ‘blind-too’ like that B-girl…? There would ‘not’ be a 3rd-time lucky… I’m ‘protecting’ the safety of our children – I’m leaving to my-brother Topher’s now…”
“Come-on, Christopher’s place is small – we are 4-of-us… we check-in at the Hilton…”
“Hah! You think money ‘grow’ in the bushes for you to bloody spend-and-waste – do you know the expenses we-had 3 months ago – when we stayed-at that bloody-expensive hotel…? On top of the bloody-costly renovation that the black-panther had-created a mess-out… of-our life-savings that-are depleting-fast…
“… then-on top of your ‘fantasy’ of wanting a-legacy of starting your ‘own’ stupid-business at your-age…. And, that is bloody expensive ‘cost’ too – now, you want me TO REPEAT the cycle of your bad-planning-and-decisions, hah-Tony…? Words coming from the mouth of a father-and-husband who is irresponsible to his-own health-and-wellbeing… of-you smoking-and-drinking-away at late-nights like there is ‘no’ tomorrow…
“… you ‘should-be’ ashamed to call yourself a husband of-a-doctor!!! I’d ‘made-up’ my-mind… I’M GOING to my-brother’s…!!!”
Shelley stormed-out of the kitchen – and, her-husband was chasing-and-pacifying after her… blind-Jane heard her-parents ‘back’ in the living-room…
“ENOUGH-Tony, I’m leaving!” She said – and turned to the housekeeper…
“Lola, pack-up the bags of the-children’s clothing – they’re going to their-uncle’s house…”
No-Lola, don’t…” Anthony said…
“My-children ARE ‘NOT’ SAFE in this bloody-house – pack the bags…!!!” Shelley shouted…
Their blind-daughter spoke-up…
“…no-Mummy, I’m ‘not’ coming – I’m staying with daddy…”
The doctor-mother stared at the B-girl…
… the blind-girl who ‘killed’ one-more baboon than-her just-now – than-her shooting 2… who-also had ‘done-that’… without a-scratch on her-body…
“FINE – you ‘BOTH’ GO-DIE in this house…!!!”
She picked-up the Black-boy – and walked-out of the house, without packing any-bag… Anthony followed outside seeing his-wife getting into her-SUV…
“… Shelly, please… be-rational – listening to-me…”
“I had enough… I’m leaving-you – I think we’re no-longer ‘suited’ for each other – I want a DIVORCE!!!”
Jane ‘heard’ the Mazda backing-on the driveway and speeding-out exiting the electrical-gate. The tween stood-up from the couch and went to the door – as Anthony entered to see his-daughter who had ‘heard’ the argument…
“… don’t worry, sweetheart… your-mummy and I are ‘not’ getting a divorce… she was angry and said… stupid things…” Anthony clarified…
Jane went and-hug her-daddy… saying…
“I’m ‘not’ worried-for-her, Daddy – I worry for-you…”
… she was ‘indeed’ worried if-her father was ‘shocked’ – and, would get either a heart-attack-or-a stroke –like his-another VERSION ‘DID’ in the other Perth…
Anthony stroked her blonde-hair as he comforted his-daughter…
“… don’t worry dear, I’m fine… I’ve been married to your-mother for 20-over year – and, I’ve lived with her-mood swings…
When Jane stopped-embracing him – Anthony’s white-office shirt was stained with baboons’ blood… he did ‘not’ tell her-that… and saw the housekeeper washing the blood-smeared floor of the dining-area…
“Lola, could you-give Jane a bath…”
“… err, I can bathe on my-own…” Said the tween…
Lola came to them…
“Jane, you need to take a long-shower…”
… Jane interrupted her…
“Yes, Lola… I’ll take a shower…” Jane walked-up the stairs…
“… scrub-yourself clean with soap – shampoo too… you’re… dirty…”
“… yes, Lola… I will…”
“… I’ll ‘check-on’ you later…”
“Okay…”
As she ascended the steps – she heard’ her father’s voice…
“… Jane, I’m going-out a-bit to meet the construction-renovators – I’ll be back by-6, pack your bag like the ‘last-time’ … we’ll have dinner and we-check-in to the Hilton…”
“… okay, Daddy…”
Anthony had changed into a polo-shirt from the dryer – and left in his-Mercedes…
-O-
Jane stood-still in the teeming-shower of hot-water beating-onto her body – and she was in-deep thoughts inside the vapouring-cubicle…
… she was ‘NOW’ WORRIED for her baby-brother. Samuel-Jaheem…
… she ‘sensed’ the baboon-attack today was similar to the black-panther attack which-happened 3 months-ago…
… where the African zoo-animals that were ‘possessed’ by Popobawa… were targeting her-house – for some unknown ‘reason’ – maybe... trying to ‘kill-and-eat’ her baby-brother…
‘… can mummy ‘protect’ him… now that HE IS AWAY from-me…?
‘… what-good is calling myself Perth’s Defender – if I CAN’T EVEN-protect my-baby-brother…?’
-O-
The blind-girl had packed her-bag. She still has an-hour till her-father gets-home… and she paced her-room to think…
… she ‘even’ switched-off her ‘annoying’ AI – so that she could have the quietness to think of her-worries… about the safety of her baby-brother…
… she ‘needed’ a drink…
Jane took a small-key from her short’s pocket – and unlocked her-desk drawer… to get a green-bottle of wine wrapped in old-newspaper…
… the bottle-was almost-empty… and as the blind-girl swigged the bottle to finish the content at a single-go– and made a displeased-face as she did ‘not’ like the taste of white-wine but loved-the-red…
… she wanted to raid the-PANTRY LATER – and get a bottle of wine… to be ‘sneaked’ into the Hilton for HER-WEEK STAY…
… but Lola was ‘still’ downstairs – washing-and-tiding-up ‘after’ the baboons’ mess…
She sat at her desk… squeezing her-brains FOR SOLUTIONS to her-problems – but got-none…
‘…grrr… I ‘need’ one-more drink to-think…’
… she-then thought of her-boyfriend…
“Hah! Mummy is ‘not’ here – and I don’t bloody-care of her-boyfriend-tracing app – I’m calling Pauly…”
<>
PAUL WAS WRESTLING WITH the muzzled-Belgian Malinois in the grass at the backyard – when his iPhone rang. He was even more-delighted when his-girlfriend rang – as she had-told him earlier that she was ‘not’ going to call him in-the-evening…
… but she-looked troubled…
“… what’s ‘wrong’ Jane…?”
“My mummy took-away Jaheem and left – and, my-parents are getting a divorce…”
The blind-girl ‘narrated’ to him of-what ‘HAD’ HAPPENED at the Wilson-residence – Paul’s jaw-dropped… as-a ‘lot’ had happened since THE 5-HOURS the superhero-couple had-separated since they-both went on-stage TO RECEIVE the Mayor’s Bravery-award…
… Jane had A THEORY– Paul listened…
“… I ‘think’ those African-animals are targeting my-brother to-be ‘eaten’ like a ‘human-sacrifice’ to gain-something that I don’t ‘know-what’… but it all-relates to Asmodeus…. don’t you ‘see’… Jaheem is African… a Kenyan… he’s an ‘open-target’ sitting-unprotected in Perth and the African wild-animals are coming for him… so-Pauly… what do we ‘do’…? You ‘always’ come out with something – you’re the-Brains in the Perth’s Defender-duo, while I’m the-Muscle in our-missions... we’ve ‘done’ so far… Paul, what do we-do…?”
“… err… I-I… don’t know…”
Paul sighed… and felt ‘useless’…
… Jane was ‘looking’ for-answers… which he couldn’t offer both of the Google like-kind of ‘facts’… nor magical ‘spells’ of how-to ‘protect’ her-brother, Jaheem…
… it was wistful-thoughts of her to have ‘high-regards’ of him – by-claiming that-he ‘was’ the Brains of the Perth’s Defender-duo…
… where he’s ‘not’…
… he ‘still’ hasn’t even-figured-out ON HOW-TO stop a nuclear-destruction in Perth in the future from-happening – OR – also-been daily sweating-bullets in figuring-out the causality-loop that annihilated time-and-space in ‘each’ Perth-realms the Cursed-trio cross-transcend when they ‘live-and-die’ in their ‘last-Perth’…
… he ‘wished’ he had the-eyes that COULD ‘SEE’ in any-known spectrum of Perth-realms… to find the ‘solutions’ to their ‘growing’ problems…
“… no worries, dear… we’ll figure it out…” The boyfriend said…
They both were silent in thoughts for a-moment… before the blind-tween spoke…
“… Pauly, I’ve got to go – my Daddy would come-soon for us to go to the Hilton-hotel… call you later when I’ve checked-in, yea … love-you… kissey-kissey, bye…”
“… okay, I love-you too… be safe…”
The moment Jane ended-call – she was on-a-mission…
… the blind-girl ‘heard’ Lola outside the room… its time to go ‘downstairs’ – to raid the pantry and ‘score’ a bottle-or-2 of wine… before her-daddy came-home…
She put the newspaper-wrapped empty-bottle in her bag to-be-disposed – she walked-over and left her-room…
-O-
The Filipino-maid was on her-fours on the hallway-floor… scrubbing blood-stains on the floorboard – when she looked-up, Jane exiting her-bedroom…saying…
“Lola… I’ll wait downstairs for daddy…”
“… okay…” Lola responded and started scrubbing…
When Jane reached the stairway-front… she said again…
“… sorry-about the mess, Lola…”
The housemaid stopped her-scrubbing and was in-thoughts…
… of a blind-girl who had singlehandedly killed 3 savage baboons without a scratch-or-bite on her-body… as she saw Jane squatting in front of Samuel’s room when she unlocked the-damaged-door – where the blind-girl was drenched in the monkeys’ blood holding a knife…
‘… how is that possible…? She is frail… and she is… blind…?’
… but it was truly-a-miracle – Jane had ‘saved’ her-and-Samuel’s lives just-now from the dangerous wild-animals…
‘… did Jane ‘rescue’ Samuel from the black panther-too…?’
-O-
Jane walked down the stairs carrying her duffle-bag and about to carry-out-her-mission… she did ‘not’ switch her AI-on – because Boyyo was a-busybody who asked ‘stupid-questions’. Anyway, she knew her layout of her-house… and where’ things-were…
But first she had to get rid of the empty-bottle – she walked to the kitchen as the garbo was outside the yard…
… normally Piper ‘would-know’ that she was-coming… and would bark to welcome-her…
She was sad that her beloved-dog was injured by Popobawa just-now…
‘… hang-in there… I’ll visit you-tomorrow after-school, my sweet-boy…’
She went out to the backyard where dog-cage was – to dump the newspaper-wrapped empty-bottle into trash-bin – and poke-it with her blind-cane so that it would-go beneath the-other discards… to conceal ‘her’ evidence…
Jane stepped into the house and walked to the living-room where the staircase was… she stood and ‘listened’ – Lola was upstairs scrubbing the hallway-floor using a plastic brush…
… the coast-was-clear – and the blind-girl went like a thief into her steal-mode… and sneaked into the dark-pantry…
‘… hope for-red… ‘not’ the yucky-white…’
… she touch-and-felt for the cardboard open-boxes that had bottles. The first-box was rejected as it was plastic…
‘… mineral-water… I don’t want-that…’
Next, blind-Jane found what she was looking for – a carton with wine bottles….
‘…hoping-for-red – hoping-for-red…’
She pulled-out a bottle vertically… and reached-out to a stack-of-old-newspaper on the floor in the dark pantry storeroom…
… a large house-spider with its 16-centemeter-long legs crawled onto her-arm…
… terrified, the blind-girl screamed – dropping the bottle of wine that went crashing on the pantry-floor…
“Jane! Jane, are you alright…?” The alarmed Lola shouted and came running down the stairs…
The housekeeper saw a shaken-Jane in mixed-state of fear-and-shame of getting caught-in the act…
“Are you, okay…?”
Tears flow under her dark-glasses as Jane was shaking in-fright… Lola guided Jane-out…
“… step outside… careful, glass-pieces… or you’ll cut your-leg…”
“Lola, please don’t tell mummy and daddy – they’ll kill me…”
“… why are you stealing your father’s wine…? … and your mummy would ‘think’ that her servant is stealing and would fire me…”
“… I’m… sorry. Lola…”
“Why are you drinking in the first-place – you’re a school going-girl…?” Lola chided…
“… but it helps-me to sleep from my-nightmares – PETER IS ‘STILL’ DISTURBING me at nights… wanting to ‘rape’ me… and I can’t sleep and stay-up all-night afraid to go-to sleep…and go-to school the next day with heavy-head… and I can’t study…”
Lola thought of Lilu – the Filipino-legendary incubus…
“I tried saying my Hail-Mary, but… IT DIDN’T WORK – and I wore the Jesus-crucifix… it didn’t work-too…”
“But Jane, you mustn’t drink – it’s bad for-you… you should ‘know-that’ by now, being a doctor’s daughter… please take responsibility… you’re a growing young-girl…”
The blind-girl begged…
“Please understand me… I can navigate myself better… think-plans better… and run to dodge Peter better when I drink… it’s like I’m ‘cursed’ that whenever I drink Peter would-get drunk… and he can’t find-me…”
… Jane did ‘not’ mention the Garden-of-Eden or-else… Lola-the-Roman-Catholic would get ‘offended’ – after she had said just-now that the Christian-relics had ‘not’ worked to ‘protect’ her-from-evil…
Jane did ‘not’ hear Lola’s voice… so, she elaborated-on…
“… that is my only ‘solution,’ Lola – I need a glass-of-wine to get a good-night sleep without any nightmares… can I have a bottle. please…?”
Lola was put on the spot of whether TO GIVE an underaged-girl liquor – she sighed – as she handed a bottle from the carton-case…
… she had ‘gained THE TRUST of the blind-girl – if she did not give it … Jane would recoil-back into her-depression where she ‘had’… during the past-months ago…
… now with the doctor-mother walking-away from the family – that would bring loneliness from being separated from her-brother.
Before Jane wrapped the bottle with newspaper – she asked…
“Is this ‘red’…? I like ‘only’ red-wine…”
“… yes, It’s a Pinot Noir…”
Jane hugged her… saying…
“… ooo-Lola… thanks…err… can I have ‘another’ bottle…?”
“No!” Said the firm housekeeper…
“… ok…sorry I asked…” Jane flashed a sheepish-grin…
“You-and-I…. we need TO-TALK ‘once’ you get back-from Hilton…”
“… okay…”
… as Jane put the wrapped-bottle in her duffle bag… the housekeeper thought…
‘… I’ll let ‘this’ slide for-now… if the Mr-and-Mrs ASK ABOUT the ‘missing’ bottles… I’ll ‘blame’ it-that the-baboons knocked-off and broke a carton-box of wine…’
Lola’s next cause-of-action to help Jane – was to get a Catholic priest to ‘bless’ the atheist-house – especially Jane’s room… and the entire upstairs… now, that it was ‘marked’ in dead-angry-baboons’ blood…
-O-
AFTER HAVING SEX WITH HER-BOYFRIEND, she left her bedroom and went outside to the coffee-table, which the-top was spread with crime-scene photographs… and she lit a cigarette and switched-on her-laptop…
… as Lana Lane smoked, she ‘studied’ the photos of dead-baboons upstairs @the Wilsons…
Her-beau detective had told-her earlier that the-blind-girl had ‘killed’ those wild-primates just-armed with a kitchen knife… without sustaining injuries to-herself…
‘… interesting… Jane Wilson, do you have superpowers-too… like your-Tarzan boyfriend…?’
