I look incredulously through the hole at the goblin who sent me flying. How does this 1.1 meter tall midget have such strength?

Okay... that actually makes a lot of sense.
Using Appraisal on the 9 other goblins he found that they were only level 5 and only normal goblins.
Why was I so unlucky?
The goblin approached him and went to stab Jay in the head.
In a desperate move Jay stabbed the knife towards the goblin's eyes.
Being the inexperienced goblin it was it didn't react in time and the knife went through it's left eye and out the back of it's head.

My guess is only stats you actually use go up when you level.
Panting Jay struggled to stand up.
Because of the level up his strength and stamina had refilled, yet he was still tired.
Numbers aren't everything I suppose.
He was about to look up as something plunged into his chest.
A sword.
He looked up and saw what looked like a red 1.6 meter tall goblin.

With that message despair washes over me, I didn't want to die but I felt my life draining away.
I didn't bother struggling as I want to die with dignity at least, the goblin looks surprised that i'm not fighting back but then stabs me in the heart with a dagger.
He was far more skilled than that Warrior and i was glad that I wasn't killed by a weak monster at the very least.
