Looking for a Job

Hello guys, finally Im done with my first chapter, it took me long time because work things getting crazy these days.
Just in case, Im gonna give you some information about my fanfic. I changed some of Rules and system from the original but not much so dont worry, nothing like big difference anyway. 1 of it is whisper system. I dont know if the original only use type and not voice, but here Im gonna make it 2 kind, both type and voice. Type used when you need to secretly inform your friend while voice used to make it fast communication like in a fighting or in a pinch situation.

With a flash of light, Rose appeared in the Citadel of Serabourg in Rosenheim Kingdom. She find herself in front of fountain with so many people around doing various activity. Its fairly crowded eventhough it has been 3 month RL or 1 year in game time since the open server. She look around and see some merchants open stall and shouting loudly to find customers.
“Sell everything about rabbit, meat, skin, etc cheap...”
“Buy wolf claw and fox claw...”
“Sell sword for newbie with fair price...”
“Hmm...so this is how Virtual Reality game looks like. It feel so real that no wonder everyone wanna play this game so bad. Now what should I do first?” Rose muttered
Rose try to check her inventory and find out there are 10 rye breads and a canteen there. ‘Its just like they said, so better fill my canteen with water now while im still here.’ She take out her canteen and put it into fountain. When she finish fill her canteen she put back inside inventory. Suddenly someone approach her from behind with his hand on rose’s shoulder.
“Hello there, yo-.......whoaaa!“
Rose spontaneously grab someone’s hand on her shoulder. While focusing her power into her right foot, she stepped forward and pull the hand then throw it ahead. Accidently she pulled out a ring from her target’s hand.
*Grab-Swing-Smack*

“Huh?” Rose surprised by the sudden notification in front of her.
“Ouch that was an awesome move, I never imagined that I would be thrown so easily by a lady and its even a newbie.” The man stand up while grinning and patting his pant.
“Eh..Ah...Im very sorry, its a habit of mine each time I got surprised if someone approach me from behind.” Rose bow deeply to show her apology.
Rose observe the man in front of her. He wear some kind of metallic armor with sword hanging on his waist and shield on his back. The most intriguing part is his spiky hair which is looks like wild grass. ‘He must be a warrior or something like that.’ She though.
“Dont worry about it Im the one at fault anyway. Though Im still amazed that you deal critical hit but still I only recieved small damage.”
“Err...Guess I’ll take it as a compliment.” Rose replied in embarrassment.
“Hahaha....Anyway, I just wanna tell you that if you need anything just ask me. Dont misunderstand I just wanna help new players. Well maybe it sound suspicious but I know how struggle to start from the scratch alone, so it will be better if we can work together in a team. And if you’re interested you can join my guild too. Though my guild is small now but we are focus on helping each other.”
“Thank you but Im fine for now”
“Are you sure? Or perhaps do you have someone to accompany you?”
“I dont have anyone but my friend already told me about basic information for starter things”
“Oh alright then, if you change your mind you can join us anytime. By the way my name is ..... ah excuse me someone contacting me now...” The man opened his whisper window.
“Yes? Im in front of fountain right now.... You what!?... Alright then, just wait I’ll be there soon....”
“...” Rose stay quiet while saw his expression. At first he is angry but for some reason his expression change again and it looks kind a worried.
“Ah sorry lady, there is a little problem so I need to go. Good luck on your journey.” The man running immediately with full speed leaving Rose behind.
“Umm...Hey wait!..... your ring!......damn he is too fast...”
‘What a moron, acting all high and mighty in front of a lady but didnt aware that he lost something. Well its his own fault anyway, I’ll keep it and try to return it to him later.’
“...”
“Wait... whats his name? I dont recall he said anything about his name at all. No...no.... more importantly, how does his face looks like again?”
“...”
“........Arrrrggghhh whatever, just think of it as a gift from nobleman. Yes that will do for now. Oh God, Im so lucky today. Ahahahahahahaha.....”
“Hey look, that lady is newbie right? Why is she laughing so loud like that?”
“Is she out of her mind because this is her first time playing VR game?”
“I guess her brain is overheat and going insane. Eventhough she is beautiful, still I dont wanna be with crazy bi**h or Ima gonna get trouble soon.”
Some players who know her ‘unique’ act for newbie make them feeling pity for her. Surely its like a Rose which is same with her name. Beautiful yet thorny (crazy).
“Sigh...im so stupid making fool of myself in front of others in my first day. Better move to another place with fewer people and think about what should I do next.”
Rose walking slowly down the main street for a while until finally she found a place like a park with so many flowers and trees. She sit on a bench which is nearest from main road. ‘What a beautiful place, is this really Virtual World? I can feel the wind blowing too. This is just so real.’ She though while take a look around her. Then she remember about the ring and take it out from her inventory.
“Now what should I do with this? I dont have ‘Identify’ skill yet but i guess it will work since he already wore it. Lets try then....Identify!”

“Aww...level restriction 20 and 40 vitality needed to wear this. Sigh, I’ll just keep it in my inventory for now.”
Rose frowned while putting her ring into inventory. (Let’s just say the Vitality Ring is hers from now on because she cant give it back to its original owner.)
“Owh I almost forgot, Tedd told me I have to get some jobs first before going to training ground. At least I can buy some foods to prevent dying from low on satiety bar. But where should I look for a job?”
Rose got up and look around for awhile and deciding to walk on the road behind the park.
‘This place seems quiet, I guess it will be easier to get a job here rather than on the main road in the central place.’
While it may be true, yet she doesnt know that there are many users looking for a job in central place because of some places will always provide new players with easy job. Restaurant is the easiest place to get job, while for some shops will offer job to players for cleaning or delivering goods. Well not to mention that there are some jobs that related to quest to aquire class specific too. But it is her natural thinking after all, ‘Quiet place have a better chance to get uncommon or rare job and the possibility to recieve higher payment.’
Eventually she sees a huge house, no...more likely it is a mansion in the edge of back alley. Without knowing, her curiosity become larger as she got closer and finally she stopped because she is already in front of the mansion. Rose decided to have some rest while get a closer look at it.
The Mansion is big and has a classic style yet it is smaller than the others on the main road which owned by nobles. Inside the gate, there are many beautiful flowers and there is a path between them which lead toward a statue in front of mansion. From Rose’s view the statue shape is human but she cant tell the detail because it is too far. It is not that great or awesome but good enough with rough carvings.
While Rose lost in thought, she didnt aware that two people aproaching her.
“Hey, what are you doing in a place like this?” A boy ask in a suspicious tone.
“Ack!...ahhh...ummm...errrr... I just got lost and end up here, so I decided to take a rest while enjoy the scenery of these flowers.....” Rose surprised
“Hmmmmm is that true? You seem suspicious, based on your outfit you’re new adventurer right? There is no way someone like you lingering around in a place like this without reason. Maybe I’ll just scream to call the owner that there is a creepy lady outside.” The boy pretended open his mouth and ready to scream with a strange pose.
“Who are you calling creepy lady..... Well actually im trying to find a job and end up in this place, so I take a rest here.” Rose replied while restrain her anger
The boy look at Rose for a while and walk toward the woman behind him and wishpered something in her ear.
Rose try to keep calm in this awkward situation while observing them. From the looks, the boy’s age must be around 14 years old and the lady beside him around 21 years old. They wear almost identical style of outfit. The boy wear white T-shirt with black short pant and the lady wear white long dress with black strap on her waist. Their face seem identical so maybe they are brother and sister.
After some moment, they came to Rose.
“Hello...my name is Crayanne and this is my brother Crayl. You seem tired and need a place to rest. We are in a way back from shopping. Do you want to come with us? Its better than standing in this place” The lady said with a gentle smile.
“My name is Rose. If it doesn’t bother both of you then I would love to.”
“No problem at all, it is a man duty to help a lady in need.” Crayl said in a cheerful tone.

“Thank you very much.” Rose replied with smile.
“Now ladies, follow me!” Crayl headed the mansion gate and opened it.
“Wait a minute, why did you go there?” Rose confused
“Why? Cant I go inside my own house?” Crayl replied with innocent face.
“Your own house you say? So that mean......”
“Come catch me if you can creepy Rose. Nyahahahaha.....” Crayl ran through the path between flowers while laughing out loud.
“Damn that brat..... Sigh.”
“Fufufu... My apologies, my brother love to tease people especially beautiful lady like yourself. ” Crayanne said while watching Crayl.
“Haha guess so.”
“Well lets come inside.”
Rose followed Crayanne enter the mansion gate and walked slowly. The flowers look even more beautiful when she saw from a close. Also she could smell the fragrance of flowers. As if it makes Rose’s mind fly into imaginary world, she began imagined to be a princess of certain castle. She sat on a field full of flowers and there is a man in front of her. She couldnt see his face but she could tell that he is very handsome with spiky hair. ‘Wait I’ve seen this hair before.....well lets just forget it.’ Rose seems familiar but she couldnt remember. She didnt want to ruin her imagination so its ok for now. When they about to kiss, Rose surprised by sudden voice echoed in her head and it woke her back to reality.
(What you expect from her? She is a lady without boyfriend so its natural to imagine something like that. Although she is a master martial art, she still prefer romance relationship rather than fighting.)
“Welcome back Crayanne-sama. Oh there is someone behind you....”
“This is Rose a new adventurer, we met in front of gate earlier. She tried to find a job. And Rose, this is Diana my housemaid.” Crayanne introduced Rose and Diana to each other.
“Nice to meet you.” Rose tried to hide her embarrassment and luckily no one notice it.
“Nice to meet you too.” Diana replied with a stern look for a moment and then went inside.
“Dont worry about her, she is very strict and overprotective but that is only because she care about my brother and me. So no need to mind her. Fufufufufu...” Crayanne whispered to Rose.
“Hahaha... its okay, Im used to it.” Rose though this Diana felt familiar.for her.
‘As if Nina is playing this game as Diana.’ Rose thought they have indetical personality.
When Rose about to come inside, she remembered something and ask Crayanne.
“By the way Crayanne, If I may dare to ask who is this statue belongs to?”
“Oh that is Alexander Louise my grandfather. He sacrificed his own life to save a foolish little girl. He is not that strong or anything but he is always ready to save his family from whatever happened.” Crayanne said in a nostalgic tone.
Rose could not see her expression but she could guessed Crayanne was that foolish girl who was saved. There was also a guilt feeling in her voice. But Rose would not dare to say it out loud. It could make her regret her own mistakes.
“You must be proud of him.” Rose tried to reassure her.
“Yes, we are all proud of him.” Crayanne replied with a gentle smile.
“There you are sist, what are you two doing here? Come inside, its almost dinner time. I already ask Diana to prepare dinner for Rose too.” Crayl suddenly come outside and grabbed both Crayanne and Rose hand then led them in.
Rose could not refuse their invitation. She thought it may be nice to have a taste of delicate food here. She did shocked when she tried to have a taste of the famous rye bread. None of her subordinates told her about its taste. Maybe they thought the only way to bully their boss was inside this game.
Rose observed her surrounding and find........nothing. Well not exactly nothing but she expected more than this. Inside this-so-called-Mansion was just common stuff. There were some paintings, pictures of family and the others just tables and chairs. Nothing out of ordinary inside this mansion, rather than mansion this is just a big house with classic style.
Rose followed Crayl and Crayanne headed to east side of this house. Eventually they entered a big room, there were a long-length table in the middle with 10 chairs. Diana already there preparing for their foods. There were not many but still more than enough for three person to eat. Rose reassure herself that its not rye breads and she was more than happy to eat homemade food inside Royal Road. This is her first time that she will eat other than rye bread after all.
When they finished their dinner, Crayl said goodbye and headed to his room. His stomatch hurt a lot. Well its not weird since he ate alot during dinner.
“Say Rose, do you still need a job?” Crayanne started conversation first.
“Yes. I need some money to live.”
“Do you have any reason other than that?”
“Well to tell you the truth Im new here so I dont know anything yet. I just wanna buy some nice food, Im tired of eating rye bread. And by the way thank you very much for the dinner, that was really great.”
“Fufufu Im glad that you like it. Homemade dinner is the best afterall.”
“Yes I agree, I cant imagine if I have to eat rye bread everyday until I get a proper job...hahaha.”
“Hey Rose, how about you work here as a maid? Well its payment not that high for you to buy delicate food everyday. But if you work here, you can eat with us and we will provide a room for you too. So you dont need to worry about food and a place to have some rest.”
‘Isnt this job offer? I heard that I need to have a good relationship point with NPC to get this. I guess Im lucky to met them in the right time and place. But I dont see any notification from system. Something still missing here, wait... maybe I need permission from both Crayanne and Crayl. Alright then I will try with this.’
“How about Crayl? I cant accept your offer without his permission.”
“He is fine with it, we already talked earlier.”
“Since when? I never saw you two talked each other when we came here.”
“Actually you already saw us whispered each other, in front of gate when Crayl teased you.” Crayanned replied with teased tone.
“Ugh...So you planned this since beginning. Im lost in word now. haha....” Rose said in embarrassed tone.
“Fufufu... So how about it Rose, will you accept my offer?”

[p=left]You have been offered a job as a housemaid by Crayanne Louise. Crayanne and Crayl are the only survivor of the Louise family live together with their loyal maid Diana. They forced to live far away from their homeland and the reason is unknown. Eventhough they already live here for many years, they dont have friend and feel lonely. Therefore they want to became friend with you and ask you to help with some housework.

Rose was very excited to read the description. She didnt know how much 3 silver worth but she was happy enough with free meals and even got personal bedroom. It mean that she didnt have to look for an inn and pay it. After all she knew that logged off inside a room will replenish her health, mana and stamina. So the payment were more than enough for her. She did curious about the Louise background story but small details come later.
“Yes! I would love to work here. So umm.... Crayanne-sama?” Rose said enthusiastically.
“Fufufu no need for ‘sama’ thing, just call me like usual Rose.” Crayanned replied then come closer to Rose and whispered “Just a reminder, Diana is very strict especially with house chores so I hope you can bear with it.” Crayanne gave a wink to Rose before back to her seat.
Rose suddenly realised that Diana already gave her a wide wicked grin from the corner of the room.
*Gulp*
‘Oh God....I totally forgot about her.......’

Meanwhile in front of the main gate of Rosenheim.
“Damn...that was annoying, how did you get into fight with those PKers people again?” A man with spiky hair grunted.
“Hey! Its not my fault! They keep coming to kill our low level members. It will never end if we just keep ignore it.” A man with white robe and staff on her right hand protested.
“Sigh...lets just forget it for now. Anyway I met an angel earlier. Her beauty is like a Goddess, you wont believe me unless you see it your self.” The spiky man showed his perverted expresson.
“Yea yea I dont have any doubt if you talk about woman. So I guess she is newbie right? Whats her name?” White robe man ask in curious this time.
“I dont know, we just talked for some minutes. But the good news is she stole my ring, well I know she had no intention of doing it. And Im sure she is a nice person so she must be trying to look for me.” Spiky man said with a smile and full of pride.
“Yea sure, lucky you. Who does not know you? Almost all players and even NPCs here all aware of your noble actions, right boss?” White robe man showed his smugg smile.
“Kukuku Ahahahahahaa...Yes there is no doubt she will surely come to me soon. Because I am the leader of ‘Knight Guardian’ Guild. The Hero of all newbies and NPCs and everyone call me Wilf........wait a minute, I didnt have a chance to tell her about my name...” Spiky man become furious as he tried to remember something.
“What?” White robe man confused
“Yes...I remember now...I remember everything. It was you! YOU made me lost my chance to told her my name!!!”
“Errr boss, actually I have something to do for now so.......see ya later.” The white robe man tried to escape from the wrath of his boss.
“HEY! DONT TRY TO RUN AWAY YOU FU*K’N #%$*&^@!%$#@#^$#@%$!!!”

Well maybe this is boring for you guys. After all this is my first try to write actual chapter, but I dont have any excuse. I’ll try harder next time to give more feeling to the story.
This chapter is a step up for the upcoming event. Oh and by the way, there will be my first try writing about battle action in chapter 2, so dont miss it.
